In the market for a new computer. Mainly going to be using it for video and photo editing with Photoshop and Premiere Elements as well as Gopro Studio. The dual core processor I've got now takes forever to render in Gopro Studio and now that I've updated to Windows 10 the video clips freeze during playback. Especially when it gets to any part with slow motion. Would like to keep it in the 750-1,000 range. Any useful suggestions would be appreciated.

Get in the Delorean and get out of 1998.
Then buy a laptop.

Thanks. However, at 1500 bucks, that's a bit more than I wanting to spend. Right now I'm leaning towards CybertronPC Hellion Gaming Desktop - AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz Hexa-Core, NVIDIA GT740 (2GB) Graphics, 16GB DDR3 Memory, 1TB HDD, WiFi, DVD±RW, LED Fan Control Panel, Microsoft Windows 8.1 Home 64-Bit

Go to newegg. You can get a lot more horsepower for the money. Then download gimp instead of photocopy which you have to pay for.

I'm not a fan of AMD, personally I would go with an I7, 32gig, Asus ROG MB, 2T HD, NVidia Graphics card. With that kind of budget the selection will be somewhat limited.

I would prefer Mac for your application, but ASUS makes some pretty good shit.
Here's a used Asus system that someone is replacing with a Mac.

Thanks for the tips. I was under the impression that the most important thing to look for when it comes to video editing is the processor's power. Of course more RAM the better but what little I've read the processor's power is priority 1. Is that right?
ETA: the one I'm looking at is currently $675 on Amazon. Seemed like a lot of computer for the price.

Yes more ram and a great possessor along with a dedicated graphics card with it's own ram would be ticket for you. Good luck.
