Not sure who's out there, but I really think we need a decent defensive coordinator that will stay a while. No more of these hot names. Get someone that can coach just well enough for Gus's offense to win the games.

Gus doesn't have time to find someone who is going to stay awhile. He's got one year to turn this shit show around or his ass is going to be gone. He better hire the best damn DC in the country to try and keep his job if not we'll be searching for a new ball coach next year.

I still think a young, proven underpaid guy like Aranda is the way to go. Too much jockeying for DCs and staffers to be small timing it. The midget, Richt and others will be looking as well.

Agree. There are talented guys around we just don't need to malinger and then have to settle. Might be a good idea to toss some erroneous names about and just go get THE guy. Jus sayin.

Someone here said Paul Rhodes. That would be nice. I'm sure Gus could make a new bicycle a part of the contract.
Someone similar is Phil Parker from Iowa but after reading some articles, he seems pretty loyal to Iowa.

Prowler mentioned Rhodes and GH seconded. I'm okay with him but he might be looking for a head gig again. But that's the chance you take.

Gus went after the best with Muschamp.
Why would he do any differently now with so much at stake?

Muschamp did his job well and our defensive players are better for it especially working with TRob.
That said..."Evil Boom" saw the situation for what it was.
Gus had failed at the end of last season and there was at least a 26% chance that Gus might be run and if so a 61% chance he might be hired as AU's Head Coach.

We had the B. Van Gorder experiment and he needed a year for installing his system.
We couldn't wait.
Notre Dame is in year two with him and pretty content.
But IMO, Gus has to fix this yesterday.

You and I would have improved the D the last 4 games having Lawson back. Just saying.....Even with that, statistically we were no better than Ellis Johnson, but at least EJ had the excuse of not having Lawson the entire year.

That's no great feat. You ought to try texting on hwy 5 while stringing two thoughts together. It's much rougher than a ride in Cousin Goober's boat at 80mph.
