If you live in South Alabama you're already familiar with the story of Angel Downs and Stephen Nodine. She was a hot real estate agent. He was a stupid-looking county commissioner. He waaay outkicked his coverage (and his marriage) by landing her in a high profile affair. Then she ended up dead. He was charged, others said she killed herself. First jury deadlocked. DA got voted out, new DA declined to indict on murder. Criminally negligent homicide. Chipmunk bitch sister (see below) pissed and moaned and demanded a special prosecutor who went back and charged him anyway. Charge was dropped when he agreed to plead guilty to perjury (he originally claimed he couldn't afford a lawyer) and no contest to harassment (the sister bitch said he 'stalked' Downs by sending her texts and emails. He had consensually screwed her multiple times days before, had photos of them partying together at the beach the day she died, so how he could have stalked her is beyond me). Got ten years. Served two. Got out in October.
The story is now being profiled on TLC. I'm watching it because it's weird to see places I frequent, places I play golf and places I pass every day being part of a sensationalist story like this.
She was pretty hot.

What really made this worth watching though was her dumbass, hillbilly, redneck sounding sister. Good lord, she's an embarrassment to the entire state. Her hairstyle is roaring hell. Her cheeks are so fucking fat that Marlon Brando wishes he'd had them in Godfather. She's either storing nuts in those damn things, chewing a big plug of redman or has an entire bale of cotton stuffed in both cheeks. She's fucking horrifying. I guarandamntee she's an Alabama fan.
Her name is Susan Bloodworth. I tried to find a photo of her online, but there's not one. I attached a shot of this countryfied hickie chick I took from my TV as an illustration just so you can see.
Before I watched this, I was 99% sure Nodine did it and got away with it. After seeing this heinous sister-bitch I now believe Downs most likely killed herself to keep from having to ever look at or hear that whining wildebeest again. She's an abominable abortion. Every time she opens her mouth or moves that enormous melon mane, I throw up in my mouth.

K, I went to bed last night and the wife had this report on. That sister was the last thing I saw before I went to sleep. Tossed and turned. Nightmares all night. Now I wake up and come to work and you have to hit me with her again? Thanks a lot, a-hole.

Don't know. Came in late on it. It was one of those Forensic Files type documentaries. And K is right. You wanted the guy to get off just because of the hillbilly sister.

I think it was a long title but the last part was "Hard Evidence". It's not like the 48 hrs show where they follow the detectives around.
This has been running for a long time, so just like most other things, you are all lagging far behind.
But, like Kaos, I originally thought Nodine shot her. I now tend to believe that she offed herself but that he was there. The detectives screwed it all up from the get-go by not getting fingerprints off of the gun? I think I understood that correctly. Anyway, his truck was seen leaving moments after the gunshot was heard by a neighbor. I think that he was in an argument and got caught up in a lie from the beginning. He didn't want to admit being there.
Who knows? The were both on drugs. Sorry for the loss but she was on drugs, dating a drug attic habitual lying attention seeker and dating a married man. Did her family think that this is a recipe for success?
I must admit, I used to hear Nodine on the local a.m. radio show when I lived in the area early in his career before he was found to be a fraud and he played the game well. He was a gun toting, conservative, bible thumping roosty-poot, just like I typically like my political leaders. He was convincing. But, he's a piece of shit. Obvious severe mental issues.

Hate to be the one to make you look like a complete dumbass. o.k., so maybe I don't hate it but my pics came out like this one time in a similar instance taking a picture off the t.v. screen. Fortunately, I had the wherewithall to turn the t.v. on it's end and take the shot again. Problem solved. Feel stupid, don't ya? Just be careful to not bend the rabbit ears.

She had LOTS of screws loose. I think she lost it and did it. All of the facts (to me) pointed to her doing it. All of the emotional rhetoric was coming from the "he murdered her" side. You're right, hes a scumbag, but that doesn't prove anything. There wasn't ONE fact that any of her family could point out that would indicate a murder. All emotion. And at the end, I think the Prosecutor lady (Dixon I think) summed it up well, paraphrasing "no one wants to believe their loved one would kill themselves, some times for religious reasons". Downs' family was almost in denial that it could happen. They didnt want to believe that their squiggy relative would off herself. Although they didn't seem to care to explain why she whored around with a married sleazebag and take script cocktails.
Some key things:
- he had no blood on him or his car (hard to stage a bloody scene without this happening)
- she had attempted suicide before a couple of times
- she had multiple scripts in her blood (2 of them were head meds, she was prob in a volatile state)
- her family couldn't seem to grasp that is was not Nodine's job to prove suicide but the State's job to prove murder
- the first prosecutor was an absolute joke and indicted him for political reasons KNOWING and ADMITTING she had no evidence tying him to a murder and hinging her whole case against him on the way Downs' hair fell to the ground - FAIL.
- the gun was hers...and loaded already

I think that was the scenario that Dixon was going to lay out in court and charge him with the lesser negligence but instead her family went over Dixon's head to the AL AG and got a special prosecutor who also came to the conclusion that the state didn't have the evidence to get him and offered him a plea bargain instead.
