Great post by Six.

Btw, I hate that Matt Millen is doing our game. I actually heard him say that a receiver didn't get both feet in one time when he first started doing college games. He's better than then but still sux penis.

Maybe we can knock enough of them out of the game to even things up for our defense.

Wisconsin answers that injury with a 20 yard sweep by the best RB in the Country.

With that kind of outside containment I could be that also.

3rd & 5 after two straight "pace plays" (aka dive runs)...what's the call? Yup, Hail Mary.

OMG, someone go hurt MINCY. They just ran a sweep at Mincy with the backup RB, the backup RB ran right by Mincy...Mincy continued to run the wrong way.

Gimel President runs himself out of the lane. Watch the replay, #42 goes to the outside shoulder of the TE and he just keeps him going out, the LT washes down, leaving a 10 yard gap between the DT and DE. If I was Alvarez, I'd run that play, no huddle.

Piss poor.  Across the board this year from coaching to players.

Defense played better for the most part. Their offense was getting tired of running up and down the field.

I'd tell the defense that the Plane departure is 4:30pm, when the departure is 7:30am...then I'd leave a sign for them that says, "the plane has already departed, those that make it back to Auburn by 4:30am Saturday, be prepared to run stadium steps...Those that can't make it, your shit outta your locker will be in the hallway. Also, Jonathan Mincy meet me at the practice field when you arrive."

That would be stupid, and poison to the program.

Those players left are certainly looking forward to a better scheme to fit the talent.

Those players left are certainly looking forward to a better scheme to fit the talent.
I've seen walkons play with more intensity and desire than what I've seen out of the Auburn defense the past couple months.

They can find a scheme elsewhere, if they can't make it back to campus in time.

Yes. Poison the program before you even give yourself chance. Run all those bitches off and just play true freshmen. That'll show their asses!

I honestly believe that between the base defense switch and new blood in coaching that we will be a respectable d this coming season. We have more talent than we've shown.

Going to the 4-3. alone, is worth 7 points a game.

This season has been an abortion and I'm glad it's over.

Thoughts from the (not quite) cheap seats:

Wisky got favorable spots almost every time.
Obvious holding of our defense was not called frequently.
Wisconsin fans are a tubby bunch.
Our playcalling in OT was fucking abysmal.
Nice day in Tampa and had a good time sans the final score.

I would think that 6 months of that kind of fucking winter, combined with nothing else to do but drink and eat would tend to make one large.

First, I don't appreciate the tubby name, when referencing round shaped peoples. Second, I never thought that I'd see sans used on the x, without abelt (as in the slacks) being right after it.

If Auburn's defense improves 7-14 points per game and Auburn's offense can continue to improve, Auburn will be undefeated...until we face a Champion from another conference, in the Playoffs.

I would say they need to"improve". Seems like we took a step back this year.

Re: the o.t. play calling, we seem to all agree that it was horrific. I wonder why? Maybe too much of a reliance/belief on/in our kicker? My guess is that there is too much of the "take what they give us" mindset and not enough of taking what we want. I would've probably given the ball to Cap every time. No imagination, I know.

If so, CAP three times between the tackles would've made more sense

It did for gordon. (all day)

If memory serves their read sweep went for about 20 everytime. On one the Defensive end lost containment and never saw him go by and chased their QB down the line.

Uh that was Mincy that did that.

So glad he is moving on. I am gladder than I was when Neiko left!

Yup, that was Mincy. Ran right by him, Mincy never looked at him. HOW A 5TH YEAR SENIOR LOOKS THAT LOST ON NEARLY EVERY FUCKIN PLAY, IS BEYOND MY COMPREHENSION.

Yeah Gimel President started and couldn't contain at all.
On the offensive side Braden Smith started at RT, played well for a series and was pulled.
Apparently we rented Sammy Coates for only a certain number of plays.
I think Duke Williams intentionally and selfishly screwed the team.

I'm disappointed as we all are but what burns the most is what CCTAU accurately pointed out during the Kansas State game with Nick Marshall. And I'm not sure that a few others weren't playing in the same guarded way at various times through the season.

My biggest gripe about that throw-back was that it went to the short side of the field AND gave the kicker an awkward angle.

Run that play to the other side and, even if it's stuffed, your right-legged kicker doesn't have to kick from the left side of the field.

Wow. Somebody actually heard the old man.

I watched GT/MSU and saw Justin Thomas(PHS) run the option like NM did last season.

I didn't see him tiptoe, save himself, or look to be a passer. I saw an option QB playing his heart out to win.

I don't think JT is near the QB that NM is, but he did play with a different attitude.

That is the type of play I expected from NM this season.

I'm not sure what happened, but it cost us wins. While NM did have a good season, the te suffered losses because of our refusal to run the option!

Hard to admit but when you watch it is very evident. This also hurt CAP's output (and our other backs as well) because he misreads at mesh by making a premeditated read not based on the defender's aggression. Nick absolutely circled under shield blocks to the sideline when he would have extended the gain by as much as 3-5 or so in 2013. And by virtue of avoiding contact he often put himself at greater risk of injury in forward progress pile-ups that misread created. This also would prompt him to make curious audibles at the line of scrimmage or operate at a slower pace if he were gassed from a previous run rather than go with what was working. Not sure if he was given that levity but it's almost a certainty coming off his success in 2013. Our play choices were often fucked-up without NM's manipulation.

The luster is off for me. I'm now an interested observer on the bus but there are coordinators and there are head coaches and we reverted back to piss poor everything from lack of discipline (unnecessary fouls) to plain old quit and it falls on Gus. I'm hoping WM will help ensure we don't see this again. If it's too big for him he now has effective back-up so now we have quality depth. WDE!

Hindsight is 50/50 but my biggest regret is than Marshall never joined the x. He would have benefitted greatly from the tutelage of CCTAU and jmar.

They may have turned him into a serviceable qb. But, we are left to wonder.

I'm a fan which also qualifies me to critique whatever the girls are wearing at the Grove.

But I'm no expert on socio-political topics which is why I seldom make comments in those threads.
I come closer to knowing a good read from a bad read by virtue of having played some long ago...whereas I haven't been involved in a questionable shooting which would somewhat hinder that opinion, not being there and whatnot.

But I will help you closed- minded motherfuckers every chance I get,  I miss Chizad who helped keep you all in check.

This is but a symptom of something much greater, not indicative of what led to our downfall from being overanked to our actual finish among the western division teams of the SEC.

So we are OK with our QB getting better stats in the passing game, but losing games because of it?

My bad. I thought for sown reason we were a running team.
