Title: Jamarius Henderson
Post by: Snaggletiger on November 07, 2014, 11:18:31 AM
Any of you gurus of the recruits know much about this guy?  Or maybe why he doesn't appear to be getting any real interest from the big dogs.  He's a RB for 4A Dale County here in the Wiregrasses.  Good size at 5'11 215.  Had right at 2,300 yards and 34 TD's last year and he's headed into the playoffs this year with over 2,000 yards and 30+ again.  He has offers but most are of the UAB, Louisville, Cincinnati variety with one SEC school, Kentucky offering.  I've seen him play one game and he's the relevant real deal Holyfield.

Gus was in Dale County earlier this year watching them play Charles Henderson.  The Auburn LB commit, McBryde, plays for CHHS but I imagine he was checking out this kid too.  Maybe he's a thug or grades are an issue.  I just have a feeling if he's qualified and isn't picked up by a big name program, he'll sign with a mid major and we'll be wondering how this one got away.  Anyone know the skinny on Henderson?

DE and DT recruiting is cause for concern. Unless Garner has something up his sleeve, this class is looking slim.

Lawson will be coming back. And hopefully the current young bucks can make some strides. But even Lawson being back - he's just one guy, and who knows if he will be the same after that kind of injury. We def need to sign a couple of DE studs.

Players work the open field, angle tackling, form tackling and stripping the ball. It doesn't seem to be translating on game days, however. "We've got to coach it better, I guess," Johnson said.

Im not sure he does. The "I guess" part tacked on the end is what bothers me. There is no guessing in this. That should be a statement if fact. 4" shorter and half a second slower may work as an excuse for him. Piss poor tackling and alignment won't work. Period. No "I guess" is needed.

His mama call him Jamarius update.  Followed up last week's 10 carry/308 yard performance with 286 yards and 3 TD's this past week.  Oh...and 18 tackles on D.

Undefeated Dale County plays undefeated Montgomery Academy Friday night.  He's a little over 300 yards from breaking the all-time State rushing record and someone called in our local show this morning and said he's eligible to gradulate in December.  Local HS corches say he's got a lot of turd in him.  (The thug kind, not Roll Turds)

Your boys have Foley tomorrow!

They won the rematch with CHS.

Central is nobody without their star weapon (Samuel - heading to Louisville) and it showed. Game was almost identical to Au/Uga.

He got 393.  On 42 carries.

The dude was unstoppable.

Got to give Gordo some credit, though.  They knew he was going to get his yards and just tried to keep him out of the end zone.  Game plan worked for all but the last second.  He had 393 yards, but his team was down 28-26 until a 27-yard prayer was caught in the end zone on the final play of the game.

Gordo scored more than anybody else on Dale County and held them to their second-lowest point total of the year and still lost.

Gordo needed one more first down to kill the clock with 2:00 left but didn't get it.

I was at the game.  Incredible.  Great HS game. In my Sunday School class are the parents of the kid who caught the game winning TD for Dale County. Miracle catch on a last second hail Mary in the corner of the end zone.  Shit you don't see in HS ball. They said Jamarius had a 30 minute meeting with Lord Saybinz Saturday.  Invited to the game.  They also said Auburn wants him bad.  All over him.

I'm telling you, this kid is fo realz.  Gordo had twice the athletes including a junior who is the son of former Bama LB Wayne Davis.  Kid is like 6'5" 225.  Frickin' stud.

And you didn't say hello.

I'm pretty sure the kid trapped the ball on that last catch. Looked to me like he did anyway.  The ref was blocked by a Gordo player and couldn't see it. Give him credit, he rolled over quickly and popped up with the ball, but the ref was out of position and didn't have the angle.

The Davis kid will go to Bama.  Daddy demands it.  It's not his first kid to come through there I don't think.  Right now Bama is playing it cool.  Bama offered but are lukewarm about it. He camped at AU but we didn't even attempt to offer him.   Daddy had said privately in the past that his son would walk on at Bama and reject scholarships to any other school if it came to that.  His dad's a big ol' turd.

al.com wrote this about him in October and drew the wrath of the uneducated Bama hillfolk in Gordo.

Watched Madison play Glencoe last friday night, didn't realize Auburn had a commit on the field. What number is he?  If he is 32, he is badass. Kid is easily 210 pounds and basically beat Glencoe by himself.
