Title: Ride the train!
Post by: WiregrassTiger on June 05, 2014, 02:40:03 PM
You ever had one of those nights when you party really hard and wake up the next morning and feel like you've been run over by a train? Maybe you were.

Lynsey Horne (Auburn Police)

AUBURN, Alabama -- Auburn police say a 22-year-old Salem woman fell asleep on the railroad tracks near Ross and Gay streets, but was unhurt when a train passed over her.

Capt. Lorenza Dorsey said officers found Lynsey Horne conscious on the railroad tracks when responding to the report of a person hit by a train at around 9:10 a.m. today.

"She was just very fortunate," he said of her being unhurt. "I have never seen anything like it."

He said Horne's petite frame and the train only containing two engines and one car likely kept her from being injured.

"The train went by her very quickly," Dorsey said. "It wasn't like it was a long freight train."

Horne didn't get away scot-free, though.

Auburn police charged her with public intoxication and disorderly conduct.

Dorsey said Horne was charged with disorderly conduct for causing a disruption. The train had to be stopped, an ambulance called and a medical helicopter was put on standby.

Horne had no visible wounds, but she was transported to a local hospital to check for injuries.

Dorsey said he doesn't know how Horne ended up on the railroad tracks. It is believed she got on the tracks just before the train passed over her.

Horne isn't an Auburn University student, he said.

I think she misunderstood the meaning of the phrase "having a train ran on her" .

bullshit
modern trains no longer have cabooses, the corollary of which means you would just stand there and watch and the opportunity would pass you by
