Title: Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story
Post by: WiregrassTiger on April 09, 2014, 10:33:56 AM
I have been a student of the martial arts for many years and have always admired Bruce Lee. I would describe myself as a casual Bruce Lee fan.

I've never watched many Kung Fu movies because I find that they demean the life. And that's what it is, a life. I don't consider it a sport, art or exhibition.

It turns out that he and I had more in common than I realized. I didn't know that he made the swishing sound when he punched, kicked or turned a flip.  I never notice it while sparring or in an underground match but I have recorded myself and the swish is clearly audible . My Sensei explained that I get into an altered state and that's why I don't notice it.

Even if you don't like Kung Fu, I recommend this movie. It is really how we live.

You and VV have this in common....you both 'swish" when you move.

VV sound was more hollow.  Almost like a woosh.  Like air blowing into a glass bottle.

Speaking of Chuck Norris.  We were talking about Chuck Norris, weren't we?  Conan O'Brien shows random Walker, Texas Ranger clips from time to time and they are funny as hell because that has to be one of the cheesiest shows ever made.  This clip made me giggle.  Love Conan's reaction.

I would appreciate your keeping your cheesy stuff out of my Bruce Lee thread. The Conan clip was even cheesier than the Walker clip. Srsly though, it all sucked.
