Title: 2014 JUCO CB Joseph Turner officially visiting AU today...
Post by: The Prowler on February 12, 2014, 05:16:31 AM
#3 JUCO CB Joseph Turner 6'2" 190lbs. 4.4 40

He was committed to Washington State since July of last year, but was unable to qualify for early enrollment. WSU decided to move on, but Turner apparently didn't get that message and was set to sign with them last week. The problem was he never received the signing papers from WSU.

Auburn is his first official visit outside of the October visit to Washington State. Also, not many programs realized that he didn't sign with anyone last week. Auburn could be getting a huge bump in the CB department. 6'2" 190lb. w/ 4.4 40? That's the perfect size and speed for a CB, especially going up against the Mizzouri Skyscrapers.

This might answer any question on what Coach Malzahn is going to do with CB Kalvarez Bessent.

No need to worry there - Chizad is already defending all wide receivers on Missouri's team

AUBURN FOOTBALL: JUCO CB Joseph Turner signs NLI with Auburn
Just in case they need one, Auburn has signed another big-bodied cornerback to its 2014 recruiting class.
Three-star junior college cornerback Joseph Turner of the College on San Mateo signed his National Letter of Intent and faxed it in to Auburn Thursday evening, San Mateo defensive coordinator Tim Tulloch confirmed Friday.

Turner, 6-foot-2, 190-pound corner, visited Auburn the middle of the week and committed Wednesday evening, accord to various recruiting websites.

"He's a kid with a ton of upside, ... he has NFL-leve size," Tulloch said, comparing Turner's size to new Super Bowl champion Richard Sherman of the Seattle Seahawks. "He's a phenomenal athlete that can jump out of the gym."

Reportedly, Turner — who is from Sacramento, Calif. — is expected to arrive on campus in May and have three more years of eligibility.

I like this pickup. You guys do realize we did not sign one CB Under 6 ft tall!

This is new territory for us!

Exactly...I like seeing 6' or taller CBs, especially when matched against 6'4" or taller WRs.
