This is one of the more amazing demonstrations I've seen. I think the most impressive. This product, if affordable, could be on of the biggest names on the market. I'm talking kleenex, coke big.

Two things:

1.  I wonder if this could be made into a clear coat for cars for a never need to wax it finish.

2.  If I put this on the bottom of my bass boat how much faster can I make it go?

I would not advise #2. It would be hard enough just to get in the boat, much less try to keep control of it....

My first thought was a car as well.  Didn't even think about a boat but you are correct, the drag coefficient has to be reduced just by the nature of it.

Wonder if it could be put on a football

Thought it had already been tested on Auburn's last Fall.

I thought this was a thread about my wife.

Sidenote:  I need this for all my ties and white shirts!

Yeah, I gotta believe that would cut down on the pecker tracks that you constantly have problems with.

Porn stars could spray this in their hair, it would totally redefine the industry.  You wouldn't need a cleanup guy anymore.

Looks pretty cool, but it does have some limitations.

You apparently can't coat an object that is going to be continuously submerged.  The coating requires a layer of air to form the "superhydrophobic" coating...whatever the fuck that means.

The top coat has a frosted look to it when it's dry, so there are some objects you might not want to spray it on, as it would affect the appearance.

If you ever have to reapply the product (which it's not permanent, so you will), you're supposed to sand off the previous coats before reapplying.  Sanding isn't very practical on canvas shoes, wooden furniture, glass, electronic devices, etc.

If they could make this product more permanent, it'd be great.  But I'm reading reviews where it's rubbing off on people's hands like a chalky substance, and that it only lasts for a few weeks for some people.

But, let's be honest...you don't need weeks of usability to do this:

We have been working on this over at Food and Drug.

We call it the Crunch Enhancer. It's a non-nutritive cereal varnish. Semi-permiable. Not osmotic. It coats and seals the flake, prevents the milk from penetrating it.

And this will insure that the flakes come out just as they went in?
