Title: Lutz Speaks

And he doesn't seem happy.  Plus, if it hasn't been mentioned, 11:21 a.m. starting time for Vandy.  copypasta al.com

AUBURN, Alabama -- Philip Lutzenkirchen's never been in this situation before, not that he can remember.
Back against the wall after a 1-4 start, Auburn has to find a way to turn the season around.

"I'm learning a lot about myself, learning a lot about my teammates as we deal with this and learning a lot about who's leaders, who's going to step up, and who's going to fall out," Lutzenkirchen said. "That's the point where we're at. People are either going to have an attitude and give up, or people are going to continue to fight."

Auburn held a team meeting on Sunday, and the seniors issued an ultimatum to the rest of the Tigers. "We made it pretty clear today," Lutzenkirchen said. "If you're not going to fight with us, we don't want you out there at all."

Auburn's offense is searching for an identity after turning the ball over five times, allowing eight sacks and failing to win the line of scrimmage against Arkansas.  Lutzenkirchen believes the Tigers have to go back to the basics.

"We've shown that we can run the ball, and we've shown that we can be physical," Lutzenkirchen said. "Yesterday, we didn't have that physicality."  Auburn picked up 321 yards and repeatedly drove into Arkansas territory before a sack or turnover killed any momentum the Tigers had built.

"I think we had good rhythm, it's just one guy makes a mistake and costs us the drive," Lutzenkirchen said. "We've got to quit shooting ourselves in the foot."  No matter what problems Auburn has had in this season's 1-4 start, Lutzenkirchen says the seniors are ready to scratch and claw, and the rest of the team has to follow.

"I think we have a good idea who's going to fight," Lutzenkirchen said, "and who's not."

The selfish part of me wants Lutzy to put the quitters on blast.

Let's see some names called out.

This is obviously a horrible strategy, but I want some fucking blood.

When you have that kind of meeting, and those kind of words, the quitters have already revealed themselves and quit.  One more piece to the puzzle.  Chiz has lost this team.

With the way this season will shake out and (IF) no changes going into next year. He will go down as one of the worst hires in all of College football.

2010 will; be remembered as Cam and the seniors

Exactly.  If a dozen guys have given up, it doesn't matter what the other 73 do.  It's done. Time to plan camping trips for the weekends.

Didn't see that.  I took his comment about one guy making mistakes was more an indication of the way we played in the 3rd qtr when we were constantly going into 1st and 15.  Kiehl wasn't even in the game at that point.

Like Simp said, the guy has no confidence, no accuracy, and no ability to read defenses, but he's not a quitter!

Ok then, let's compare his performance in the LSU game to the Arky game? Quitting can be as much an action as it is an attitiude. Meaning, do you think Kiehl played his heart out in the first half?

Kyle was 9-14 for 131 yards in the first half.  His best performance to date.  He certainly could have made better decisions a couple of times throwing the ball away to avoid the sack, but Frazzers wasn't the problem Saturday.  The O-line matador blocking.  Dropped passes. Fumbles.  Penalties on first down putting them in a hole.  Players not having a clue where to line up on offense.  Failure to even try and utilize one of the best TE's in the nation.

Scot Loeffler fail

As far as people "quitting" on the team, I think the problem lies with guys who aren't getting the PT they (And others) feel they deserve.  I do like what Lutz said.  About time somebody step up and try to be a leader, something we haven't had the last year and a half.

I hate being right.  Over his head is an understatement.

He isn't the issue. The fact that he was hired and the person who hired the person who hired him is THE issue.

I think Reese Dismukes is a problem. I wouldn't doubt one bit if he was one of the guys they are referring to. When he got the penalty against him for the mis-snap, Moseley was getting on to him and Dismukes turned his back on him and elbowed him. Shit like that doesn't happen on a team where there are leaders.

Agree about Lutz steppin up. Judging from the twitter boards it looks as if when have a few whinners. Say what you want about the coaches (and they have sucked to this point) but if the players don't believe then this thing won't get righted no matter who is the coach. Is this the coaches problem for letting it get to this point? Hell yeah. However, our guys would be well advised to STFU and do what is asked of them. That and develop a little passion, desire, and belief that you are gonna whip whoevers ass is in front of you on the field. If that would start happening maybe we would start to see some wins.

I'd buy that. We were sure as hell alot softer practicing for 2 weeks straight.

I think what I get tired of most is the need to improve here, need to improve there shit. There comes a point in time when the players are gonna have to fucking man up and whip someones ass. Like I said the coaches have let this become a shit storm and the blames on them for letting it get here. However, the coaching staff isn't gonna make a single block, catch one fucking pass, or throw one fucking pass for that matter. If you are a QB and a guy is 10 yards open, hit him in fucking stride. If you are a LBer and you see a hole open up, hit that motherfucker like a fucking mack truck. If you are an O-linemen or a D-lineman, grab the motherfucker thats in front of you, rip his fucking head off, and shit down his windpipe. Its fucking Division 1 football! Most of hese guys have been playing this sport their whole life. Time to fucking man up and own somebody.

B-I-NGO.

And Bingo was his name-o.

Many on this board may not remember much about Rocker as a player, but know he is one of the all time AU greats.  Rocker was the anchor of a line that was as badass as has ever worn the orange and blue.  We rarely blitzed because the front 4 just dominated the line of scrimmage and got all the pressure they needed.  I believe it was 1988 that we would have been playing for the MNC if it hadn't been for one decision to play prevent defense against LSU when they hadn't crossed midfield since the 1st quarter.  After that game, Auburn reeled off 4 straight shut outs, including a 16-0 (Don't quote me) win on the road against Go Gaytah.  Tracy Rocker was just a beast, moreso than Fairley IMO.  Fairley made several game changing plays and was obviously one nasty human on the field.  Rocker annhialated anything and everything that got near him.  Damn, I miss that guy.

Rocker was one of the meanest coaches that I have ever seen coach. I played offense on a team where he coached DL, and they were fucking mean. Mean and nasty and it came from Rocker. He hated every fucking offensive player. I hated walking by him because he would just stare at you.

Maybe thats what we need most. A coach, any coach on the sidelines that players know if they half ass it he it gonna put his foot in their ass. However. some of this shit is at the feet of our players. Sammie Coates seems to back up my theory about the lack of marbles..

''We've got to get used to it. If we're going to play like this, we're going to keep losing,'' the Tigers' redshirt freshman said on Tuesday. ''We either have to step up and turn around ... We've got a good team. We've got good athletes. We've got some of the best athletes that you can ask for. It's just, is it in their heart that they want to win or do they just want to keep going down?

I'd like to see Coach Kevin Greene roaming the sidelines as the DL Coach.

From Coach Pelton's first interview to the ”coaching segment” on Auburn Everyday, I was not impressed by his laid back ho hum attitude. I would've loved to have kept ”Super Freak” Coach Rocker on the Auburn sidelines.

Since Coach Rocker wanted to coach in the NFL...some of y'all are seriously reaching, again, to find fault in Coach Chizik...Seriously, just stop. Y'all want players that don't quit? Y'all are cheering when players make a statement that he isn't giving up and that he's going to continue to fight....but in the same breath you've quit on them, the coaching staff and everyone above them.

I wish the players would follow the fans' lead and they all just give up and quit on the coaching staff, just like the fans are (I'm looking at almost EVERYONE on this board).

And I'm the 1%??? Some of y'all need to take a long hard look in the mirror before you come at me with any of your bullshit...or just keep blindly following a God Damn bammer, RWS...or greasey weasel.

Whatever helps you sleep better at night. Like I said you have no problems questioning the other coaches like Loeffler or Pelton. Well guess what, Chizik hired those coaches. You are the 1% because you don't see the inherent problems that we have had since the beginning. Chizik is the 9th highest paid coach in the nation, mediocrity and overpayment may be ok for you, it isn't for me anymore..

Btw I haven't given up on the players, I am hoping we can hire someone to come in and help develop them so they can win and make it to the NFL.

Besides you reach further and further with every post.

I think its fair to say that CGC has exceeded expectations 3 out of his 4 years. That and the BCS Title, regaurdless of who else was coaching here (Rocker and Malzahn) or who we had on our team (Cam and Fairley) gives Chizik one year to turn it around in my opinion. And by around I mean 10 wins. Maybe 9 if all games are close and we beat a couple of rivals: Corndogs, Leg Hummpers, Tea Baggers.

Point is, if we are gonna blame Chizik for the bad hires and results this year, we also got to give him credit for the folks he brought in to help win it all in 2010. You can look at it how you want but the fact is 3 out the 4 guys that I listed above wouldn't have been here if it wasn't for Chizik. Fairley would have probably been the only one since originally signed with Tuberville. Bottom line, I want to see what Chizik can do with another veteran team. And no I'm not playing the fucking young card but this is not a veteran team, next year kinda will be.

Well, I'm guessing you don't mind getting called a blathering retard like they call me...trying to bring logic and facts into a conversation on this board is the same as posting your message using Dothraki language.

Btw, Godfather, Coach Rocker has wanted to coach in the NFL for a while. So, no, you can't use that to try and build your case against Coach Chizik.

And my problem with that line of thinking is that with the schedule we have next year, I'm hard pressed to pick out 7 wins.  At LSU, at Arkansas, at UGA, and at aTm.  Host Alabama.  I don't expect us to win any of those games.

At a minimum for 2013, we will have a new Offensive Coordinator.  If we decide in 2013 to fire Chizik, then we have a brand new oc in 2014.  How many years does that set us back, if for the 3rd straight year, we're learning a new scheme on offense?

Better to just cut ties now, I think.

Do you talk to Coach Rocker?  Did he give you his personal opinions on the matter?  Do you know his family members?  If not, why do you speak to this issue as if you know?

I haven't spoken to Rocker either....well, except this one time when he was coming off the field and I asked for his autograph and he asked me if I wanted a foot up my ass.  So, we're pretty tight like that.

I believe that too.  I don't think he is going anywhere this year. I do believe that some assistants are going to be the scapegoats.  The one thing that will get a coach fired faster than anything is empty seats.

And there will be many-I don't expect 50,000 (if that many) for NMS or AAM-and the other part I see is that not many are going to travel, who wants to pay to go on the road to see an abortion? What do you think maybe 4500 for Ole miss?

I was surprised by how few fans LSU brought, being undefeated and ranked so high.  But Arky, I doubt there were 3,000 Hawg fans at JHS.  I would imagine attendance will be down for OM and Vandy.

I have a different game plan for this weekend, I am going to go ahead and ump on Sat will DVR the game-When I get done I will check the score-Auburn wins, go home and watch it at some point (and wonder if Ole Miss) forgot to show up. Auburn loses and figure things are the same and made money instead of watching patience fucking virtue.

I'll drink after I get done umpin and before I check the score.
