Title: Weezer's Red Album
Post by: wesfau2 on July 12, 2008, 08:08:45 PM
I'm a casual Weezer fan, at best.  Loved the first (Blue) album, but haven't paid much attention since then.

However, I must say that their new album (The Red Album) is fucking solid.  I haven't stopped listening for the last three days.

I recommend giving it a listen...and if the powers that be could make it safe, I'd make this album available to you all for a nominal charge.

Agreed. It's their best since Pinkerton.

Agreed. It's their best since Pinkerton.

The bonus tracks on the "deluxe" edition are priceless.  "King" is the best song I've heard in forever.

Edit note:  It should also be said that Weezer does an asskicking version of "The Weight".

I agree the album is solid, you can just let it play without skipping a song!

Yes it's nice that they have come back from their complaint rock.

The new Weezer album, Raditude, is pretty solid.

Not as exciting or complete as the red album, but some good tracks.

The radio single is catchy and "I Can't Stop Partying" has a guest verse from Lil Wayne.  Nothing else stands out after one spin through it.

Speaking of Lil Wayne, his new mixtape, No Ceilings, is quite good.  Typical Weezy wackiness.  Worth listening to for the laughs he gives you.

You were spot on about the Alice in Chains album.  I had a great fear that I wouldn't like it and I would try to compare it to the Staley stuff. Based on your recommendation I will give this one a listen as well.

THere should be an upload and download option.

We'll get right on that as soon as you sign an indemnification/hold harmless agreement and deposit $10K as retainer with Harvey Birdman.

Thanks,
