Just caught the end of this game on ESPN U.
Chip Kelly is a shitty fucking coach. He was down 3 with 2 minutes to go, three timeouts, and possession of the football.
His team goes to "warp speed" and starts gassing the defense. Barner is ripping off 10 yards per carry. Then Kelly starts throwing the ball around, Malzahn-style: long lateral passes that gain little yardage. The clock is running on him and he refuses to call any timeouts until there is less than a minute to go and he's on the USC side of the field. They run a few more minimal gainers, all the while burning time. He ends up kicking from the 35, with a guy who is 60% on the year (40yd long), and HOLDING TWO FUCKING TIMEOUTS IN HIS POCKET.
Wide left. USC win.
This was probably discussed in November, but I don't have time for that shit.
