Cam Newton to join Bo Jackson on charity bike ride through Alabama

Two of Auburn’s biggest football legends are teaming up in late April to raise continuing relief for the victims of the deadly tornado outbreak of last April.

Bo Jackson, the former Heisman Trophy winning running back, will be biking 300 miles through the state of Alabama from April 24-28 in the hopes of raising $1 million for the Governor’s Emergency Relief Fund, which was established to help Alabama residents meet recovery needs spawned by the tornados and unmet by other organizations.

Jackson announced on Tuesday that Cam Newton will join him on the ride, pairing Auburn’s two most recent Heisman winners.

For a look at Bo Jackson’s route — and as anything Bo Jackson does athletically usually is, it’s tough as heck — take a look at the planned trip below. For a $200 donation, there are limited spots available to ride with Jackson on each leg of the journey.

4/24: Henagar –>  Lake Guntersville State Park (Approx: 50 miles, total elevation gain of 1300 feet)
4/25: Lake Guntersville State Park –> Cullman (Approx: 65 miles, total elevation gain of 2400 feet)
4/26: Cullman –>  Jasper (Approx: 50 miles, total elevation gain of 1400 feet)
4/27: Jasper –>  Bessemer (Approx 50 miles, total elevation gain of 1900 feet)
4/28: Bessemer –>  Tuscaloosa (Approx: 50 miles, total elevation gain of 1500 feet)

Newton, Jackson and Auburn’s first Heisman winner, Pat Sullivan, will be in Auburn on A-Day (April 14th) for the unveiling of the Heisman statues outside of Jordan-Hare Stadium. The unveiling is scheduled for 11 a.m. ET.

Why, They didn't stop Cam or Bo the first time?

But seriously the first time one of the red-neck fuckers said anything I wish they would stop, get off their bikes, pack the shit up and go ride where folks would appreciate what they are trying to do. (All while TV cameras are rolling)

You can bet they'll hear more than their fair share of comments from the mullet gallery.
