He's really pissing a lot of people off. Fucker is committed. Why do this? If he's not 100% then decommit.

These sites do a shitty job of reporting the signings.

The front page of Rivals has announcements that TJ Davis and Nero have signed.  Their commitment list does not show that the kids have signed.  Which fucking way is it?!??

To maybe find a QB that might be "coached up" beyond his 3 star ranking?

Are we reporting signees from one particular site?  They all have different shit listed.

One guy on Scout proclaimed this to be the "official" site:  http://www.auburntigers.com/signingday/ (http://www.auburntigers.com/signingday/)

If it is, then add: Tyler Nero, TJ Davis, Jay Prosch and Darrion Hutcherson.

The bottom line is we're going to have to take a few chances on good overall athletes to fill out this class.  I'm just holding out hope that we land 2-3 of the big names left on the board, like Goldman and Williams.  If that happens, I'll be good with it.

We have six 4* signees, with three more 4* expected to sign.

We have eight 3* signees, with no other 3*s on the board.

Leaving 8 spots for some big names and some filler kids.

Do you guys remember the days when we were thrilled when we got one 4* kid out of Mississippi and then a bunch of "diamonds in the rough"?  Fucking spoiled, most of you.

I couldn't understand a damn word Kwon Alexander said.

Kind of surprised he didn't go to AU. Alabama asked him to greyshirt due to the knee situation, and I'm wondering if AU might have done the same in the end. But then again AU has the room on the roster and in the class to take a risk on the kid. Or maybe he just wanted to go to LSU for whatever reason. In any event, totally did not see that kid leaving the state.

The only 2 I feel we have a 50% shot at now are Young and Louis. Darby would be nice but a minor upset. We're halfway through NSD and we have 16 commits. 16!!

Sorry, but there is a little reason to worry. No sense in sugar coating this. I sincerely hope Chizik has a rabbit up his ass that is struggling to come out.

The thing is, we have absolutely improved this team immediately with who we have.  If...and we are 0'fer on the big dogs...we get Louis to re-up with the good guys, our future at WR is off the charts.  We've really solidified the TE position with Lutz, 2 from last year and Hutcherson and Parks in this class.  On the O-line, the big thing I see is all three guys so far are 6'6" and 6'7" with frames that will allow them to carry 300+ with ease.  Don't know how quickly they'll step in.  Obviously would love to have gotten the traitor Yeldon, but I'm happy to add a 220 lb. beast with an attitude to an already stout stable of backs.  Trust me, Blakely is a bad azz.   Plus, they now have one of the best fullbacks in the country leading the way. A year ago, 6'5" Zeke Pike was Elite 11.  Didn't have a huge year but who knows what he had around him.  The positive is Loeffler.  Chizik hired him because he develops QB's, plain and simple.  If Pike was one of the best in the country a year ago, I'm betting Loeffler will get him back on track.  For all the negative, don't forget the articles on Pike outworking everybody at that camp.

On D...damn, I really wanted Goldman and/or Williams...but I already digress.  Mitchell and McKenzie..plus Kriss Frost will make you jump jump from last year, should put our linebackers back on the map.  I'm happy with Holsey and Davis has good size but keep in mind, DB really isn't an issue on this team as long as they're coached correctly.  We signed one of the best and deepest DB classes in the country last year and a lot of them have experience.  Nero gives us more size in the middle and I don't know much about President at DE.  Bottom line, we've helped ourselves on that side of the ball but I was really hoping for a couple of impact guys.

Perspective:

We have six 4* signees, with three more 4* expected to sign.

We have eight 3* signees, with no other 3*s on the board.

Leaving 8 spots for some big names and some filler kids.

Do you guys remember the days when we were thrilled when we got one 4* kid out of Mississippi and then a bunch of "diamonds in the rough"?  Fucking spoiled, most of you.
I'm sorry, but I have to disagree 100%.

You must expect greatness and take no excuses.  To compete in the SEC west with LSU, Arkansas, Bammer, etc... You have to have great talent.

Losing 1..that's ok, losing 2...meh...Losing 5?  That's bullshit.

Jonathon Wallace stats.  The video did have him running a lot from the gun but he appeared to have a pretty stout arm as well.

Passed for 1,761 yards and 12 TDs and ran for 891 yards and 28 TDs as a senior leading Central to a 12-2 season, making it to the semifinals of the 6A AHSAA playoffs

Running for 28 TD's in 6A ball.  I think they just might be able find a place on the field for him.

It's not the first time, but at least with the other guys they had a few weeks to decide for themselves.  Justin Taylor signed with Kentucky I believe.  Good for him.

But to tell a kid on the morning that he is ready to sign that he won't have a spot this year, that's bullshit.  Had he been told last week, I still don't like it but he has a week to explore his options.  The morning of?  Complete horse shit.

If even half of FSU's class pans out in a few years, they're going to be a force to be reckoned with. Jimbo is recruiting lights out right now.

All I care about:

Did we fill our needs?

Quarterback needs depth, competition, and potential.

Zeke Pike?  Check.

Running back was solid and only needed a bigger body.

Jovon Robinson?  Check.

Wide receiver needs depth and true #2 option to open up Emory Blake and Lutz.

Ricardo Lewis? Maybe Stefon Diggs?  Check.

Offensive line desperately needs depth, a reason for competition, and guys that can fill in as seniors graduate.

Shane Callahan?  Patrick Miller?  Avery Young?  Check.

Tight end needs someone that can take over for Lutz next year.

Ricky Parks?  Check.

Defensive line needs quality in the middle and depth at the end position.

Tyler Nero?  Gimel President?  Sorta check.  We really could have used another big star recruit.

Linebacker needs playmaking ability and depth.

Cassanova McKinzy?  Javiere Mitchell?  Check.

Defensive back needs depth and a reason for competition.

Joshua Holsey?  TJ Davis?  Sorta check.  Could have used Darby here.

Add in that JaQuay Williams could play linebacker or wide receiver.

This is a really good class.  If we had landed Goldman and Darby, I'd say it ranks right at the top with everyone else.

So....I've been out of pocket since about 12:30.

All you really need to know is that Zeke Pike better be a baller, or Kiehl Frazier better learn to throw a ball.  If either of those don't happen, then the other recruits probably won't matter, and the sky will have fallen.

I don't think the offense will flounder.  Given the OL you guys got, and the depth at RB (Mason, Blakely, McCaleb), plus Jovon Robinson, being able to run the ball effectively should be easy.  Let's just hope Loeffler can make (and is wanting to make) use of it.  I don't know if Loeffler is a high power offense guy, or a if he has a more conservative style of playcalling, but he should be able to rely heavily on a running style offense if need be.

But hopefully the QB position will get sorted out.  Moseley is out definitely (at least in my opinion), so you've got to either rely on Frazier or Pike, or a combination of the two rotating.

With the OL we have, and signed this year, and how thin we are at DT, don't see anyway one or two of those with a nastier disposition don't find their way to the other side of the ball.  You can only play 5 OL at once, and they don't rotate in and out like DL.

I keep hearing how thin Auburn is on the DL, but I just don't get it.

Jeff Whitaker will be a JR
Kenneth Carter will be a JR
Gabe Wright will be a SO
Angelo Blackson will be a SO
Devaunte Sigler will be a RFR, I believe
Jabrian Niles will be a RFR
Tyler Nero will be an incoming FR
...and that's just the interior line

The DE's might be a little light on depth, but not by much
Nosa Eguae will be a SR
Dee Ford will be a JR
Corey Lemonier will be a JR
Craig Sanders will be a JR
Justin Delaine will be a SO
Keymiya Harrell will be a RFR
Gimel President will be an incoming FR

We're pretty good at DE, in fact real good.  I say "thin" because they didn't produce much last year.  Could one turn in to the next Fairley?  I hope so, but I'm basing on their performance last season.  It was not good.  They got shoved around pretty good, but they were young too.

At first, I was a bit aggravated at losing out on so many recruits, especially those that were considered heavy Auburn leans. As GF pointed out, this years OL class are f'n behemoth sized freaks. Auburn got some nice players at the skilled positions too. Overall, this is a solid recruiting class.

and I think we can all agree that the OL spots are getting pretty full now.
QB...meh, maybe the late addition will help with the depth a little, and Pike will be a good one.
LB...Whiskey Tango Foxtrot?  Little Dicky has 600 linebackers sitting the bench every year and another 300 lining up to sit the bench, and Auburn can't get 3 or 4 decent ones a year to commit?

The DL was definitely on the weak side last season, but most of the guys playing on the interior were freshmen and sophomores that have not completely physically developed at their positions, plain and simple.  These guys were all 3, 4 and 5 star guys, so the talent should be there.

The LB corps had a few 3 and 4 star guys that signed last year and should be ready to start contributing in 2012 hopefully, but there are also 3 LB positions vs. 2 interior line spots that have to be filled with a quality 2-deep.

So, you thought the play at DT was solid this past season?

By your reasoning, we're stoked at LB too.

Not going to argue semantics of "thin talent" vs "thin numbers".  to MAH toe/to MAY toe.

Also agree, the bigger need was/is LB, but it all starts up front.  You'd be surprised how much LB play improves with great DT play.

Agree we were young at DT too, but I expected better play out of Whitaker, and at 6-4 312, and being a Soph that got lots of playing time in 2010, there's room for doubt until he proves himself.  Not saying he's completely sucked, but showed no signs of being a game changer, or really striking fear in the heart of any opposing OL.  Jamar Travis is a 4 star DT Sr. to be.  What's he done?

DT and LB have to be a priority next year.

I don't think that's a semantic argument at all.
