I really like his movies. I can see how they're not for everyone. The film-nerd in me really likes that they have a unique stamp on them. You can watch 2 minutes of a Wes Anderson film, even to a certain degree the Fantastic Mr. Fox, and know it's his. I really like dry comedies, and to me, he is a master of the genre.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go on an overnight drunk, and in 10 days I'm going to set out to find the shark that ate my friend and destroy it. Anyone who wants to join me is more than welcome.

Agree on loving Anderson's movies.

There is a thread on Sage Francis's forum (which prides itself on being way cooler and hip than you or I could ever be) deriding these movies.  Too much "entitled white boy" from what I gather.

I get that criticism.  It's hard to have a lot of sympathy for the characters in Tenenbaums or Darjeeling...or any Anderson movie, really.  Their existential problems are those of people who don't struggle to make the rent and feed the kids.

Still...I agree with Chad.  I love his movies.  Call me Entitled White Boy.
