Both and neither.
The media defines "real deal" as unbeatable. Legendary. Greatest of all time.
Of course, the team that loses - no matter the score - defaults on their quest for media glory.
Both defenses are incredible and difficult to beat. But you know what? They're still college football teams, and college kids are liable to have a shitty day on the football field.

Both and neither.
Pretty good answer. I mean, it's not like having an opponent offensive ranking average of #70 is all that impressive, for that matter. Especially when you have a team like Baylor, who has the #3 offense in the country, but 3 losses. I don't think you're going to find a team that consistantly plays top 20 offenses and has a great defense to show for it. I don't really know what the point of this thread was, other than to amuse me by bringing to light the fact that North Texas has a better offense than Ole Miss.
The only thing you can do is judge them against everybody else in D1 football, because it is all relative. There are teams behind LSU in terms of opponents offensive statistics that don't have as good of a defense as LSU. Why? There are teams behind Alabama in terms of opponents offensive statistics that don't have as good of a defense as Alabama. Why?
Statistically, none of this shit matters. It will be hashed out on Saturday.

Honey badger is off suspension.

I have a feeling that Alabama will do a good job of making him somewhat of a non-factor. At least, not as much of a factor as he has been in some games. I hope I'm right.

LSU played Oregon. Have you seen them? They're just so fast.

No see, hash...Honey badger.
nevermind.

I tried to watch, but Oregon's players just kept disappearing and reappearing at random spots on the field as they continuously went warp 2. You know that's why they lost. As they went faster time for them slowed down. So the game ended in our time speed while the Oregon players were still in the 1st quarter.

And Les Miles' clock management theories play right into this strategy as well.

Exactly. It was weird.

Pfft...that's nothing compared to the 1992 2009 2011 version of the Tide D.
-
In 1964 Arkansas finished the regular season with 5 straight shutouts, and only gave up 57 for the year. They held Nebraska to 7 in the Cotton Bowl

Pffftt...you know Nebraska was down that year. Plus, their long snapper was suspended for the Cotton Bowl.

Exactly... As soon as I sift through the many "Bama's Back" SI cover issues, we'll have some ammo!
