What better place to have this discussion than its own thread in a forum dedicated solely to food.
Places I've heard I've got to hit up. We're not trying to do the classy-dress-up-fancy type dinners.
1. Don & Charlie's (http://www.donandcharlies.com/)
Bomb ass pub food. Supposedly boasts sports memorabilia that makes it one of the best sports museums in the country. Also, apparently pro athletes love this place.
2. Oregano's (http://www.oreganos.com/index_main.html)
If you're gonna do pizza, this is unanimously the place.
3. Frank & Lupe's (http://www.frankandlupes.com/)
If you're in the Southwest, you've got to do Mexican. This is one looks like the best of the "cheap" Mexican places from what I can tell
4. The Mission (http://www.themissionaz.com/index.php)
Probably better than Frank & Lupe's, but also probably less casual.
5. 5th and Wine (http://www.5thandwine.com/)
Supposedly a good wine bar with some good lunch specials.
6. Roaring Fork (http://www.eddiev.com/?gclid=CInPov2no6YCFY9l7Aod7wyfpw)
This is at the bottom of the list because it's probably a little too fancy for what we're looking to do. Hear it's good though.
Anyone have anything to add?

Anyone want to go to dinner at one of these places Saturday? Sweets? Jumbo? Prowler? Anyone?
Good list, Chad.

BBQ: Honey Bear's http://www.honeybearsbbq.com/
Expensive Dining : Cowboy Ciao in Scottsdale http://www.cowboyciao.com/
I've been to Giligin's in Scottsdale a few times. Goldfish races! http://www.giliginsbar.com/
Sushi in Tempe - Ra Sushi (they are all over the country but best sushi I had in the PHX area)
There was a Mexican place I went to a lot when I worked out there, Mucho Gusto. It's close to ASU http://www.muchogusto1.com/index2.html
I'd also do Z'Tejas in Tempe every now and then: http://www.ztejas.com/z-tejas-tempe.html
And I had mentioned the Irish Bar in the other thread http://www.rulabula.com/

Good info.
Is my analysis in the OP pretty good? I'm just gathering from what I've heard/read. Never been to Scottsdale.

To be honest, the only places I know that you posted is Oregano's and 5th and Wine. My hotel was the Courtyard in Tempe or the Airport Courtyard/Fairfield, which ever had the cheapest rate that week. I honestly can't remember all the places we would eat in Scottsdale, but I'd say if they are there, they're really good. I can't imagine "average" restaurants/bars lasting a long time in that area.
Also add Italian Grotto for Italian Seafood http://www.locallifedesign.com/clients/italiangrotto/

Went to Oregano's last night. Pretty awesome. Get something with plenty of marinara.
Another place not on my original list is Max's sports bar, but I heard it's a must for a trip like this.
I think we're going there for lunch today.
