Title: Joseph Goodman with the Hit Job
Post by: The Six on April 17, 2019, 03:13:05 PM
Gotta make the new Bammer coach feel warm and fuzzy. Oh, and assert that Alabama is almighty and clean.

Seriously. Who is editing AL.com these days? Stephen Glass?

Some choice quotes:

Quote
Alabama basketball coach Nate Oats was hired on a Wednesday.

Four days later, the coach that he absolutely has to out recruit, and the program he, without question, must beat consistently became the first men’s basketball team in Alabama state history to advance to the Final Four.
And if that weren’t enough pressure on Oats to do everything in his power to win, then there’s this. Over the past two years, Auburn coach Bruce Pearl has had two assistant coaches linked to separate federal investigations into the rampant and institutionalized corruption of college basketball. And what did Pearl get?
Suspension? Slap on the wrist? Stern talking to?
No, Pearl just got a five-year contract extension last week making him one of the top 10 paid coaches in the sport. Is he worth it? Yes. He has made Auburn basketball relevant again, which few thought possible before he arrived under a show cause.

Real hilarious stuff here
Quote
Auburn’s win-at-all costs persona, it seems, has titled the scales of ethics in the SEC. Apparently, the league is now going to let everything slide.
This week down in the bayou, LSU made the decision to reinstate basketball coach Will Wade despite Wade reportedly being caught on tape by the FBI talking about a “strong-ass offer” for a recruit. If this is the new reality of the SEC, then best of luck to the NCAA compliance officials at each member institution.
Why even show up to work? Just collect a paycheck, and play golf every day.
As if the football compliance people in this conference haven't been a shell game to hide money for years anyway. The gall of this "journalist" to even write something like that is staggering.

"Over the past two years, Auburn coach Bruce Pearl has had two assistant coaches linked to separate federal investigations into the rampant and institutionalized corruption of college basketball. And what did Pearl get?

See, this is the kind of bullshit, irresponsible reporting and straight up hit job that makes me want to pull a Tonya Harding on this guy's knee caps.  First off, what was Pearl supposed to "get"?  He wasn't found to have done one damn thing wrong.  One assistant allegedly pulled some shit at a school about 2-3 jobs ago.  Okay, what does that have to do with Pearl?  The other is accused of making some jack on the side by steering potential pro prospects to a particular agency.  Again, why would Pearl even be involved in that?  And there's nothing and nobody even insinuating that he was.  But this ass pimple puts it out there as if Pearl skated by without any punishment that he clearly deserved.

As was stated so eloquently above this post....Fuck this cocksucker.
