Title: David Oku....
Post by: lifesapplepie on January 23, 2009, 02:46:20 PM
When did we get back in the picture with him?  He is visiting next weekend (jan. 30th) and now is a soft commit to TN.  This is the first I have heard of him in a while and didn't even know Auburn was on his radar. This would be a nice pickup if we can sway him!

For those of you who dont know him, his is the #1 all purpose back in the country and a 4 star recruit according to rivals!

Would be a nice grab, but I wonder if his relationship with Gran is too much to overcome?

Surely not for our super-recruiters!

How the hell can you be the #1 all purpose back, and not be a 5 star recruit?

I've asked this same question 100 times. It seems there's no rhyme or reason to how they assign the almighty star.  If you're listed as the best all-around back in the freakin' country...I believe you are worthy of the extra *****'s

He probably stick with his UT commitment, just like Randle with LSU, but it is nice to see some of the guys coming for a vist.  We may not sign any, we may sign one or two, who knows?  If you can get them on campus you still have a chance.  Hell, you can't dance with the prom queen unless you ask.  At least we are asking.

Hell Yeah....he is a 6 Grillz and a Pimp Cup, his Highlight Videos are pretty damn impressive.

Oku will be in Syracuse this weekend, visiting them, because that's where his UT connection went...I'm guessing RB Coach?  Then he's is "scheduled" for next weekend, I'll be surprised if he actually makes it, since the news of the possible visit hit a full week before it happens, I'm sure YawYaw and Gran will be all over him.  I hope not though.

As for the Homecoming Queen, you are correct.  Also, if she's kinky, she'll let you Donkey Punch her in the head while you're fuckin' her.

I take the opposite stance (obviously).

You don't start running around like a nerd in heat when most of the prom invitations have already gone out.

My opinion is that Chiz is wasting a lot of time with this scattershot approach while he's ignoring the recruits that SHOULD make up the core of this class.

Terrence Coleman says in the paper today that nobody from Chizik's staff has contacted him since Willis left.  What the fuck is that?  I guess he's so busy wasting time chasing pipe dreams that he can't bother with the kids he actually has a chance with?  Stupid.  How can you NOT call a kid whose primary recruiter left and who lists you as a soft verbal? A kid who has ties to the team?  A kid who is actually attainable?

You can start making plans for next year's prom if you want and build a strategy to get the best girl.  But when you're a week or so out from this year's prom you look pretty stupid and desperate chasing other guy's dates.

If you don't start talking to the girls who'll actually go with you, you're going to end up in a tuxedo jerking off in the corner.

The all purpose backs are weak this year.  Not saying he won't be good, but the star system is about potential and the ability to be productive on the next year.  David Oku might be the best all purpose back, but he still probably needs a year or two to get used to college game.  He'll be really good once he does that.

Five star guys should be able to come in their freshman year and start or get serious playing time.  Any five star guy that doesn't do that is a bust in my book.  If they need a few years to get ready, then they were really a four or three star guy.

While I agree that not contacting Terrance Coleman would be a mistake if true, the rest of what you are saying is pure short termed, narrow minded babble.

Let me relate it to you in your own colorful and nerdy terms.

At least our newbies at school, came to the prom late and have managed to get the hottest girls to visit their hotel rooms.  Some will score, some will return to the dance floor.  However, the newbies at school just proved with a killer dinner, meeting mom and dad and a corsage they got just as much chance to get laid as anyone.  You don't stand in the corner and be a nerd this year in hopes of pulling a "Teen-Wolf" type reversal next year.  My contention is that your approach of hitting the one guarantee, only guarantees stale pussy in the end.

Someone will contact Terrance, or he will go to Tennessee or Arkansas like he's been floating to Rivals and Scout.   However, I agree with YOU that it would be a shame in that instance.

i think it would be safe to say that i don't know what paper he read today, nor in all likelyhood would i have read the same paper. i don't know where he lives, but it probably isn't anywhere around here. therefore i probably haven't seen that information. my reply wasn't directed at Kaos, it was more of a jab to Prowler and i simply borrowed Kaos' quote. feel better? or do you need another boo boo duck?

Kaos, here's a britches busting idea...  Why don't you provide both scissors and Prowler the paper and quote you posted earlier?   I've seen different things including an entry by Goldberg last night Thursday night saying that while Coleman was upset at Willis still, he still considered himself an Auburn commit.  With that said, he ALSO said he was keeping his options open.  You all know where to find the Goldmine blog if you don't believe that.

Quote
Terrance Coleman, defensive lineman, Williamson High of Mobile. He's very much one unhappy camper, according to Inside the Auburn Tigers. Of Willis, Coleman said, "He told me that he was going to be at Auburn when I came there. He was sitting in my living room two nights ago and told me that. He also told me some not-so-nice things about Alabama, so I am not happy about this. I didn't know he was like that. I am going to stay committed to Auburn, but I don't know for sure what I am going to do."

Actually you would be retarded if you didn't recognize what he said as true. I mean if they want the kid badly and his coach that was recruiting him just left, it only makes sense that they would contact him asap. That's just common fucking sense.

Of course common sense doesn't work well for a pissy little bitch who just likes to argue for the turds, or against AU regardless of the presence, or lack, of logic in his argument.

ok, so what you're saying is they wanted him until Willis left? because according to Coleman, a few days before Willis left he was at Coleman's home, presumably to continue to solidify his commitment.

Quote
He was sitting in my living room two nights ago

so, do you suggest that two days before Willis left that AU wanted him but now that Willis is gone now they don't want him? goddamn, and you say i don't understand common sense. common sense tells me that when AU sends their Mobile recruiter to solidify the commitment of a Mobile kid, that means they still want him. or was Willis acting as a renegade against the wishes of The Chizik by coming down and recruiting him that night? how fucking stupid are you?

No, you're just a complete fucking idiot. Obviously we want him. My post said that if we wanted him BADLY we would have contacted him by now and for all your completely worthless ass knows we have.

My logic here is correct and not hard to understand. It is not the least bit fucking surprising that you are struggling with it.

No one has said we don't want him, nor should they if we don't get him. No one has even said that we don't want him badly because for all we know we very well may. You are pulling that out of your ass. You should stick to pulling dildos out of your ass. I'm certain you are much better at that.

you originally implied that AU didn't want him badly, because you said IF they wanted him badly he would have been contacted. you also repeated that point in your reply to me. then you say no one has said AU doesn't want him badly, even though you sure as hell were implying that originally. i will agree with you that if you guys don't end up hanging on to him that nobody should say that AU didn't want him. for that matter, AU was in his living room days ago and Chizik apparently accepted his re-commit when his uncle announced he was staying. apparently you think AU wanted him and so do i, apparently we're just splitting hairs between "wanting" and "wanting badly".

in his reply he emphasised BADLY and then went on to make statements that supports my theory that we're just splitting hairs over "wanting" and "wanting badly". i understand that he thinks AU wants Coleman, and i agree with that. i also agree that if Coleman doesn't stick with AU nobody should say that AU didn't want him. thats all gravy. my contention at this point is just that if you send a coach into a kid's house this close to signing day, you probably want him pretty bad. thats just my opinion. when Chizik got on board he felt the need to visit some of these guys in-home because apparently he felt they were enough of a priority.

The point is that no one knows shit about the situation. We may have very well contacted the kid. If we haven't it's safe to say that we're not breaking a huge sweat over him signing. It takes like 5 minutes to give the kid a call or drop a line and touch bases with him.

Unless your head is up your ass and you don't have a clue what you're doing.

Disorganization was one of the primary complaints about Chiz at ISU.  Why are you  so willing to dismiss the concept that he might just be chasing his tail and not have a handle on things?

Based on his track record, monkey fucking football strategies was something I feared from him.
