Auburn Football Recruiting Massive defensive tackle Maurice Swain to sign with Auburn, Mississippi State or Kentucky tomorrow

With just one commitment on the defensive line in the 2015 recruiting class, Auburn is looking to add another tomorrow morning in Maurice Swain.

The three-star defensive tackle prospect out of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College is set to sign with Auburn, Mississippi State or Kentucky tomorrow. He will let his decision be known at 8 a.m. CT.

The 6-foot-5, 300-pounder was offered by the Tigers in August and he named them his leader shortly after. After being pursued by Mississippi State and Kentucky, however, he no longer claims a favorite.

"I am not leaning anywhere," Swain recently told 247Sports. "All three are really the same right now when I look at things. They are all in the SEC, all want to play for championships and all three need defensive tackles. They all have good depth charts to where I could come in and play right away."

Recruiting for Kentucky football must be like recruiting for Auburn basketball.

al. I am a gay twerker that has no balls!!!!  I also have no idea how to use the quote function to post stories, so I annoy the piss out of others.  I like male genatalia in and around my mouth. follow up. Kevin Phillips is a punter that will walk on.  Averaged 40 a punt.

Auburn landed its second defensive lineman of the 2015 recruiting class this morning when Maurice Swain signed with the Tigers as a mid-year junior college transfer. The news was first reported by The Sun Herald.

The 6-foot-5, 300-pound Mississippi Gulf Coast tackle picked the Tigers over finalists Mississippi State and Kentucky. He has two seasons of eligibility remaining, and Auburn's lack of depth on the defensive line proved to be a major factor.

"(Auburn) stayed loyal to me," Swain told Rivals on Monday. "When I was in high school, Coach (Rodney) Garner is the one who told me about Gulf Coast. And then I remember talking to Coach (Gus) Malzahn before I got to Gulf Coast, and I asked him if he would give me a look (when I got out of junior college). He said he would, and he did."

In a poll posted yesterday on AL.com and GulfLive.com, 85.51 percent of readers expected Swain to sign with Auburn. Two of Swain's current teammates, Jason Smith and Kevin Phillips, joined Auburn earlier this morning.

Swain is ranked as a three-star prospect and the nation's No. 5 JUCO defensive tackle in the country in the 247Sports Composite. He tallied 32 tackles and 4.5 sacks last season.

Garner's ties to Swain date back to his time at Troup County High School in LaGrange, Ga., when Garner was recruiting him to Georgia. Swain committed to Indiana before taking the junior college route to Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Here's a quote about Auburn from a piece in SunHerald.com on DB Tony Bridges signing with Ole Miss.  Makes you wonder if Muschamp will send Melvin Smith packing.  At least that's what I took from it.  Also, I'm not as concerned about the flip after seeing a couple of sites having this guy listed at 5'9" 155.  Can't imagine him being that small, but that's what 247 and one other had him at.

Bridges said he sensed some uncertainty with Auburn's staff, which solidified his commitment to the Rebels.

"(Muschamp) looked at tape of me and said 'I really need you,' this and that. I have love for them because they showed me love, so I can't say nothing bad about them," Bridges said. "That being said, it was too late. I didn't know which way the defensive coaches, like (cornerbacks coach) Melvin Smith, was he going to be there or not?

"I think some stuff was going on that he hasn't figured out yet. I haven't got time going into school doubting."

Talked to one of my sources today (not deepthroat btw) and I left the conversation feeling encouraged. Sounds like we are set up to close strong. He mentioned in particular a 5* DE out of Florida that he's hearing that we are looking strong for, with the hiring of WM.

The OL Ivey, 5* out of Florida still has us on the radar.

The defensive recruiting seems to be coming around. As Simp stated, "I am hoping to this pick a bit as signing day approaches." Whatever that means.

Tray Matthews- SOPH Safety transfer has two years remaining and will be in the 2 deep. I know he was part of the   Ricardo Louis play v. UGA but this kid can ball.

Xavier Dampeer- is our only Center listed behind Dismukes. Has 1 year remaining.

These are both very important points to bring out in a thread about defensive tackles. Because the safety and center positions are so closely related to the defensive tackles position, I guess. Thank you for this jmar. And stop drinking before noon.

I kind of think 7'2" is a little tall for Johnson to be throwing over. And if he takes snaps from under center, he'll need a step stool to get his hands under his ass. Also, 190 seems a little light but I guess Grimes knows what he's doing. Unless the mofo done got senile.

Thompson's Mom loves Bobo & Garner...with Bobo leaving (skreets), so goes the bagman from UGA for Thompson. Garner will still be his bagman at Auburn, should he decide to come play alongside Monster Truck Adams and Carl Lawson.
