Garrett Williams has announced his plans to make his college football commitment next month, and Auburn has made the cut as one of four finalists.
The Tigers will be battling Florida State, Clemson and Stanford for a pledge from the tight end prospect, who plays for The First Academy in Orlando, Fla.
"I like Coach [Gus] Malzahn and also Coach [Scott] Fountain, the tight ends coach," Williams told The Orlando Sentinel. "Coach Malzahn is a great leader and I think he's already shown that with what he's done with the program in one year. ... They have the facilities, it's a beautiful campus, a good school and they have a lot going for them."
The Seminoles appear to be the current leader for the 6-foot-4, 220-pounder. His father, Dayne, donned the garnet and gold in the 1980s.

"I would say, the schools are on an even playing field," Williams told Rivals. "I'm going to go where is best for me. I will pray about it and God will lead me where he wants me. I'm open to the choices."
Williams claims 27 total FBS offers. He is ranked as a four-star prospect and the nation's No. 9 tight end in the 2015 recruiting cycle by the 247Sports Composite.
An excellent student, Williams holds a 4.35 grade-point average on a four-point scale, according to the Sentinel. AL.com's attempts to reach Williams Thursday were not immediately successful.

So truthfully, would you want a kid who had the opportunity to attend his dad's alma mater and that school is not a crap-hole?
I would always feel better about a kid that followed his dad's footsteps to a successful institution.
i lean toward FSU on this one also. 6 years ago, maybe not.

That guy must be a Road Scholar
It's Roads scholar, dumbass. There is more than one road in the Mexican town where the college one gets to be a Roads scholar is located. You should check on these things before you spout off and make everyone on here look like a bunch of rednecks.
