Really didn't know how to react with 4 cops coming on the field with hands on weapons. I gave them all the room they needed.

I was umpiring a softball game and cops came on the field and arrested this guy.

From what I was told, there was a fight at the end of last season between two teams (or some of the guys from the two teams) in the parking lot. The parking lot fight was more bowing up and chest thumping-then both teams ended up at the same bar right up from the complex. Now mix beer and testosterone and a championship 2012 early spring league T-shirt and you have all the makings of a brawl to end them all. The guy in the picture took his bat-knocked a guy out and beat him till he broke the other guys ankle or leg.
It’s not softball-It’s adult day care sometimes. We have actually had to have cops come to the fields to escort umpires out sometime.

Some of the more competitive church leagues are funny as they tend to pray after the game at the pitcher’s mound. And on more than one occasion I have heard them ask the almighty to help me and my eye sight. I always catch them coming off the field as they have one or two players who have no idea where the church is much less what denomination they are. I ask them how Brother Robert is and they always answer oh he is doing great or something along those lines, of course I have no idea who goes to that church.
The best World Series to do is Military World, them boys and girls play hard and you get no grief and a few days down in Panama City, FL.
