Title: Commitment #12......
Post by: The Prowler on June 15, 2008, 04:38:47 PM
Met Mr. LaDarius Perkins 5'9 180 4.4....Big Surprise. Coach Gran and Coach Franklin said that they Loved what they saw on film and at the camp.

Quote
Auburn picked up a surprise commitment Sunday following its first big senior camp of the summer from one of Mississippi's top overall athletes.

Not only that but LaVoyd James has just received an Auburn Offer by non other than Coach Tuberville himself.  LJ said that CTT pulled him aside during one of the drills and asked him if he wanted to be a part of the Auburn Family, and if so then he has an Auburn Offer waiting for him.  LJ said that he'll probably make his decision sometime this coming week.  So he could be #13 and the Fifth prospect taken out of the Mobile Area.....or #14 from what I've heard.

War FUCKING Eagle

The kid is good.  Very good.

Including the "weak ass bitch" song probably wasn't the best editorial decision.  Thirty second stretches of film where all you see is Perkins and hear "Weak Ass Bitch!".

What kind of competition is he playing against?  What is his schools classification?

This was from the fall YMCA league 6 years ago.  His high school films aren't available yet.

Is Mississippi's 1A full of small private schools like ours?  If so, he could still be facing decent competition.

No, they have the private schools separated into their own classifications (MPSA 1A - 3A). Even the state bible schools compete in their own division.
