Title: Rolling Gambling Thread
Post by: wesfau2 on August 20, 2017, 05:45:23 PM
Some garbage on Saturday, but it's still an opportunity to wager.

CSU -3.5 v OrSt (opened -2)
Hawaii -1 v UMASS (opened -3)
USF -20 v SJSU (opened -21)
Stan -31 v Rice (opened -33.5)

None seem like particularly easy money, but if pressed I'd take CSU and UMass.

What, no futures betting?  On Sportsbook, Auburn is the 2nd choice to win the SEC at +450, tied for 6th choice with LSU to win the NC at +1800, and the O/U for the year is 8.5.

In early lines on games of the year, Auburn is:
+3.5 against Clemson
+5 against LSU (tempted to take that)
-9 against the hogs
-5 against aTm
-7 against Ga
+7 1/2 against bama

I bet the hogs would win more than 6 1/2 games, and bet $20 to win $1300 on an SEC championship.

bama's O/U for the year is 11. tempted to take the under.

Bama under 11 is my lock of the century.

Take the Auburn "over" and definitely grab those points v LSU.

Yeah, I like that bet as well.  The only problem is online even if bama lost their first two games, they wouldn't pay the bet until the end of the year,  so it kind of ties up my available gambling resources.

Maybe looking at what ASU did to Tennessee last year. Plus, I think they have their QB back.  Screw Georgia in da' mouf!!!

Agree, but App St has a track record of hanging tough with the big boys.  Apparently, some are still questioning Kirby as well.

What a great way to start off a possible good/great season than to see kirbs dawgs go down to the state apps.

Appy State's QB has started 27 games and they have their leading rusher (1,402 yds) back along with their leading receiver and 2 of their best O-linemen.  Defensively, they return a bunch of starters off a D that gave up less than 20 a game and very stout against the run, which is the Bitch's forte.

I do recall last year thinking UT would blow them out based solely on a huge size differential in the trenches.  But, it seems to me like I remember thinking how pitiful they made UT's O-line look.

I'd love a miracle with a Mountain Ears win.  Don't think it will happen but I'd say 14 is a little high.

A guy I know that runs the local pick em pool said the line opened at 21 ish. It appears as though appy got shit tons of action.

Not if AU is rolling undefeated and the fucker's beat us AGAIN! That totally destroys the Iron Bowl run up and dampens any bowl to follow.

OSU looked to me like one of those emotion-based teams I mentioned in the HS thread.  Don't let them get started because they can start grooving.  Big play, turnover, they get cocky and ISU shrivels.  They looked like the same team that's lost seven, eight, six and seven the last four years.

Some of that, but I think it was also a matter of IU fading in the second half.  They don't have the depth to run with OSU for 4 quarters.

It looked like Wilson made some adjustments at the half as well.

But should you seriously need to make adjustments when your last 4 recruiting classes have been top 6 and you are playing THE bottom dweller of a conference??

That RB though....he good.

Wisconsin might score in the seventies. Surprised that OU opens over a TD dog even in Columbus but I've been away from gambling for a good while.

Kind of surprised Mizzou is favored over USCe, they looked better than I expected beating NC St.

Mizzou gave up 40+ to some rinky dink shit school. How many will they give up to a real team?

Not sure if true but someone told me that ga was favored before Eason was hurt.

USCe up to +2 1/2, Not sure what people see in Mizzou.

Aub was at +6 for a while earlier today, now at +5 (Sportsbook.ag)

OSU is -7 1/2 vs. Ok, will be interesting to see the total.

Kind of like Stanford getting 6 1/2 vs. USCw

tOSU vs. OU is intriguing.  I think the Buckeyes are Bama'ish in that they are top 5 recruiting every year and are seriously talented at every position.  Despite the contrarians on this board, I thought tOSu looked damn good against the Hoosiers once they got the jitters out of the way.

Baker Mayfield is a supremely confident QB but losing the two guys that were a big part of his success in Perine and Mixon is way bigger than people think.  tOSU rolled them last year and have them at home.  Yeah, that's a lot of points in a game of this magnitude, but I think tOSU handles their bidnezz by 10-20 points.
