Title: The Most Recent Installment of "Weezer's New Album"
Post by: AUChizad on September 21, 2010, 06:08:56 PM
It's good shit.

I've said this with each of the last three albums, but this one is the most like the Blue Album/Pinkerton than any of the others.

They've moved off of Geffen and onto the punk label giant Epitaph. The home of Bad Religion, Rancid, NOFX, Social Distortion, Pennywise, New Found Glory, Millencolin, Motion City Soundtrack, etc. It sounds more like an Epitaph album than a Geffen album.

It's straight up power-pop. A little experimentation with some synth. A lot of the songs kind of remind me a bit of Andrew WK (Taylor's forum namesake).
