Anyone ever had a problem with Itunes randomly and arbitrarily deleting your music? This is especially bothersome when it is a cd that I bought from Itunes (or downloaded in a less than kosher manner), as I have no hard copy back up to reload.
Doesn't delete all the music, only a select album or two. For instance, it deleted two Why? albums and left one.
Fuck.

Why?
-
Why?
Yeah.
Why? is a great band out of Berkley.
Why? is also the fucking question I'm asking. As in: Why does fucking Itunes do this?

Who?

Who?
No, The Who is from England.

Because you refuse to quit suckling at the teet of that product line.

Once again...THIS man knows.

It doesn't really provide me any benefit other than ease of interface with my ipod. Can I sync with WMP or some other player?

Don't listen to him, hes just mad because Steve Jobs never replied to his fan letter.

ever had it happen before Weskie. Did the music disappear from your hard drive altogether or just from the itunes playlist?

A couple of times that I've noticed, but in all that music I'm sure there is shit that I have simply forgotten that I had in the first place that is missing.

Altogether. That's the most frustrating part. I bought a Why? (that's the most recent incident, so still fresh on the brain) cd from Itunes. Now it's gone and I don't have a hard copy. What's my option here? Buy it again? (of course I can download it).

Sorry missed the N mine should have read that I have never had that happen before. So you checked the itunes folder and no album. What about a search, did you do a Microsoft search for one of the song titles on your hard drive.
Also had you uploaded it to your ipod yet?

I own an Ipod that was given to me as a gift. It's the 8Gig nano. I like it for what it does, but I hate having to use Itunes to access your music. What I did is I have a CD backup of every album in a book, and a 500 gig external Hard drive with all my shit on there. I have bought a few songs from I tunes, but I always put it on a cd. I'll sound like a govt conspiracist, but I don't like Apple having control over my stuff.
-
I bought a program online that stripped all the coding bullshit off the itunes downloads. Best 20 bucks I'd spent in a long time. Converted everything to straight up mp3's.

Completely gone.

Only have the 4gig Nano, so I have way more music than Ipod space.

wes, I have had some success with emailing iTunes and whining about stuff that vanished without backup. Sometimes I have had stuff go missing after an iTunes upgrade, and throwing a tiny e-tantrum works.

lot's of options

Or you could never buy anything from iTunes...just download it.

My option question was in regards to the missing music.

Doesn't seem to matter where the music comes from. It has zapped non-itunes music.
