Title: First tourney upset...on the way?
Post by: Thrilla on March 19, 2009, 12:57:23 PM: CSU Northridge down 1 pt 22-23 to Memphis with 8 1/2 minutes left in the first half. I know my bracket, along with many others, would be FUKKED if Memphis went down. I fully expect them to outlast CSU in the 2nd half and pull away.

I guess I should have changed it before today, but decided that since I don't ever go back and make changes after a pick why the hell not stick with it. Hopefully they come back in the second half.

CLEMSON...has GOT to be the most overrated, overhyped, over...whatever program in the history of college sports. I don't care what sport we're talking about (As long as it's actual sports that men follow, you know, football, basketball, baseball...) Clemson just bends over...spreads it's collective butt cheeks and takes a 12" rod up the ass every time they're hyped to have a good team. In ANYTHING!!!

My GAWD...Auburn under TONY FUCKIN' FRANKLIN beat them...what??? Then...Bama fudge packed that bunch of losers when Climpsum was supposed to be a top 10 team and possible MNC contender. They start strong just about every year in roundball and the media pimps em' like they're Kentucky under Rupp. Then..they fade..as usual..and cost me a point in my bracket.

THAT...my friends...is the real issue.

Tarheel..you follow the ACC. Would you agree that Cleempsun is the most overrated overall program in college sports? Wait, don't answer that. No need. FUCK Clemson. I will NEVER pull for you in any sport as long as I live.

I enjoyed reading your ~~rant~~ analysis of Clemson so much I had to respond, Birdman.

Last season they came very close to beating the Tarheels in Clemson; I recall that game being a serious struggle but in the end they lost with Carolina getting a three point shot within the last 6 seconds (or maybe it was even within a few 10ths of a second) of the end of the game. They looked like a serious contender that year even making it to the final game of the ACC Championship; Carolina beat them by 5 points in what was their third meeting that season; Carolina beat them all three times.

I should point out that the proof of Clemson's 'over-rated-ness' is to look at how many times they've won the ACC Championship Tournament...never that I know of.

How about Pitt with only a 3 point lead over ETSU at the half? I'm sure they'll blow them out in the second half, but it would be great to see a 16 seed finally beat a 1 seed (especially since I have Pitt losing in the Sweet 16).

I've determined that I need Villanova to beat Duke and then North Carolina to take it all to win this thing. I must scratch the sacrificing of goats and now go to full on human sacrificing...perhaps I can get my hands on a couple of virgins (since I never have before) for a full ritualistic sacrifice to better please the Bracketology Karma Gods.

I've got all but one team left in the 3rd round. I had Arizona State taking out Cuse. I just figured witht he tough tourney run Cuse had in their conference tourney that they would be out of gas. Oh well, there is still a ton of ball left for my bracket to go all to hell.
