Title: A Decent Night
Post by: Snaggletiger on February 25, 2009, 11:23:29 PM
As Ogre posted earlier, Auburn kicks some major bootay against the Cold Piss Rebels, avenging an earlier drubbing by the Confederates.  Duke goes on the road and takes control late against Maryland.

If anyone watched that game, they will understand when I say Gerald Henderson is going to make a LOT of money in the NBA.  A LOT of $$$.  Dude had two highlite reel plays back to back when he split the defenders down the lane and brought the rack down...then at the other end of the court, went above the square to swat a layup from Maryland away and then go and grab the ball he just rejected.  Dude has some serious skillzzzz.

AU/Dukies winning in the same night.  Yes!!!

Whats your obsession with Duke?  Any ties to the University?  Or is it the whole raping a stripper thing that turned you on to them?

I openly admit to being a complete and total bandwagon fan.  I have zero ties to Duke University and wouldn't have been accepted there if I had washed the Deans car and shined his shoes every day for a year.  I just jumped on their bandwagon way, way back in 78' watching them make their way to the finals against a juggernaut Kentucky team.  I never jumped off and have followed them closely ever since.  They've just always run a class, quality program year in and year out.  I've made the trip up to Cameron Indoor and over the Dean Dome.  It's the same atmosphere up there between those two schools as it is here between AU/UA.

And admittedly, when it comes to college basketball season, if you're an Auburn fan, you'd better find something to hang on to most years because basketball ain't very fulfilling on teh Planes.

Oddly, that's the same thought I have about being an Auburn Football Fan.

Yeah, Duke and Auburn had a great night; I was hoping that the Twerps might 'rape' Duke but, sadly, no it didn't happen.

Great game.  ACC basketball rocks!

For me, I guess it's similar to a lot of people's alliegance to pro teams.  If you live in that particular city, I understand being a rabid fan but I could never grasp why some people get so worked up about the Steelers or some shit when they've probably never even been near Pennsylvania.  But I imagine I'm the same way with Duke.  I just have always liked the program and the basketball conference for that matter.

For instance, last night I'm flipping between Duke/Maryland and Tennessee/MSU.  The Maryland fans had that place shaking and it looked like half of them wanted to come on the court and beat someone's ass.  In Johnny Knoxville, all you could hear was the announcers, the squeak of the shoes on the floor and the cheerleaders in the backgorund.  I wanted to stick bamboo shutes under my fingernails.

Like I said; ACC Basketball Rocks!
