As a second-time transfer and not yet a graduate, Gatewood would likely have to receive an NCAA waiver to be eligible to play for an FBS school in 2021. The NCAA granted a one-time transfer eligibility exception (https://www.al.com/sports/2021/04/ncaa-officially-passes-one-time-transfer-exception.html) to all Division I athletes last spring, but it only applies if the athlete has not yet transferred.

Obviously, it's not physical talent. The guy has all the measurables. Coming from someone with a source who has knowledge of an individual close to the situation, the problem is upstairs.
