I don’t recall an AU team that I’ve enjoyed any more.
I hesitate to call them “scrappy†because that tends to indicate that they are less talented or athletic. That’s definitely not the case.
But they are scrappy in attitude. I guess the main deficiency is size. Very evident against KY. They (ky)are long and quick but nobody plays any harder than the Pearls.
And we have a load of talent. We’ve had 1 or 2 good players I believe on several occasions. But now, I consider us loaded.

AU Basketball is now must see tv, and if Pearl doesn't win National Coach of the Year, they should abolish the award.

This reminds me. I keep having the same dream about chopping this guy up with a machete. Does anyone know what it could mean?
I haven’t mentioned it to the shrink. You guys would know the guy in the dream. And I’m pretty sure my chopping him up would go over pretty well.
It’s just so confusing. Not sure what I should do.

Yep. I've been saying this for a while. We exhausted our good fortune.

I don't know. We were already playing on the edge. That one injury pushed us slightly off the edge.
Just imagine if Purifoy and Wiley were on the floor!

Yep, the injury was HUGE. We played out of minds against bama in the next game, but now the lack of depth and McLemore being out is really starting to take its toll.

I would have bet on Arkansas versus us even with a healthy McLemore.
Florida is THE best team in the SEC, including us...and they beat us there.
We are going to beat South Carolina Saturday.
Last season South Carolina made the Final Four after a similar slide to ours.
Not saying we do the same because as we all know it's about momentum, who we draw, draining threes and taking care of the ball. We have to feel good that we are able to rebound against taller teams and knock down free throws.
Not too worried about the SEC Tourney but it would be nice to win a couple with better starts on a neutral court to kind of get acclimated for the Big Dance.
We aren't backing our way into this thing, we earned it and I expect our guys will do us proud.
That said I think it's fairly evident that our biggest hangup is getting in foul trouble.
Spencer gets two first half fouls, we start playing less aggressive basketball.

It wouldn't bother me to lose our first game in the SEC tourney in order to get some rest for our guys before the NCAA. I would love to see them make it out of the first weekend of the NCAA.
