Title: What A Day...So Far
Post by: Snaggletiger on October 01, 2016, 08:27:27 PM
So this morning, I get up and hit the gym and run a couple of errands.  Me and mini are set to head up to the Planes for the ULM game.  What a killer Fall day.  The temp has dropped to bearable.  No clouds in the sky.  Me and mini are ready to walk out the door, tickets in hand....and I tell him I'd much rather be grilling and sitting on my porch.  He says, "Well it is just ULM".

20 minutes later, I'm at Pube Licks, grabbing wings, 2 pork tenderloins, tots, vegetable tray and boiled peanuts.  From that point on, it's family over, grilling meat on the Egg, munching on veggies and peanuts, drinking bourbon and DCP and watching some incredible foosballz on the screened in back porch on the wide screen.

No pressure Auburn game.  UNC kicks a 54 yarder to beat FSU.  Tennessee punches a hole in the chest of the Georgia Nation, rips their hearts out, shows it to them before they DIE.  BWAAAAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!  And we still have Louisville and Clemson to go, among others.  DAAAAAAMMMN I love days like this.

Boiled Peanuts at the supermarket?  Damn that's wrong.  What kind of redneck are you?

Anyway good call on staying home.  You like your egg?

I had to work, but presently enjoying the Climpsum game and really hoping Louie can dot the eye of their tigger. Did the Updykes impregnate the Wildcats? Didn't expect the UNC result, however, glad to hear the result of bloodhounds and bulldawgs pissing contest. I hope UGA retires this year. He's seen enough misery for one dog's life.

On another note, did Corch Spurr-zahn-ashlee raun up the score, or did ULM just lay down?

Nope.  I think they handed the ball off up the middle 52 times in the 4th quarter.  Had a walk on back running the ball the last 5-6 minutes.

Our receivers are running wide open in their sleep. ULM did have at least two players that could make our roster.

No srsly.  In the produce section, they have these bags of boiled nuts.  I forget the name.  Something Farms or some such.  They're amazingly good for nuts you're not boiling yourself.

Recommendation for you, GH, since you get down this way.  On 431 as you come into Headland, look for an old convenience store/gas station on your left called Bob's.  Go to the cooler and getchu' a bag.  I promise you, Bob has the biggest, saltiest nuts in the Wiregrass.  You can thank me later.

Not to me. It's just always been short for Japanese. Saying a host of others I am fully aware of that I won't repeat? Sure. But you don't get to be judge and jury with such a vague and ambiguous word. Plus the fact that it was in the context of a joke. Sue me and lighten up Francis.

Carry on.

Not necessarily, but it is offensive to the Romani people to allege that you've been "gypped out of something".  So...it doesn't matter if I'm offended.  See how that works?

Would it have been ok if he had called it his Pearl Harbor plays?

All he had to do was say that he was taking it back.  The Tuna flubbed that one.

You are really reaching. But glad to hear such a critical issue keeps you up at night. No one ever said anything about it offending or not offending. I said it wasn't racist to me the way I use or used it. It was merely shortened from Japanese. And used as an adjective to describe a damn bonsai tree. Nothing more. Offending is like art. You can claim anything offends you if you want. That doesn't mean it's racist. Because you see, racism actually has a definition.

It didn't demean them. It didn't establish a prejudice. It didn't call for discriminating. And it certainly didn't lessen them as a people. Which is what websters defines racism as below

Racist/racism from websters:

1 : a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race
2 :  racial prejudice or discrimination

And we won't get into how many times other words have been said on here in a similar sarcastic manner. Some in posts you responded directly to.

The best part of this argument is you equating racism in this election cycle to "Trump's constituents" while failing to even mention that a large percentage of blatant racism and violence in this "election cycle" has been conducted in the name of BLM protests against white individuals.

Watch this video and listen to the fine upstanding young African Americans assisting the white people who could well have been dying.

Watch how they cared for them and made them comfortable.  Watch how they called for assistance.

Explain to me how there would be no riots or protests if this were two black people lying in the street with a crowd of white folks mocking them and laughing at them.

Watch and talk to me again about racism.  Tell me again that we're all the same.

And then kiss my fucking ass.

The only race I hate is the Nascar race. The 2 weekends of the year those filthy Nascarians are in Talladega are the absolute worst.

We need to build a wall around that track and make the France family pay for it.

Buncha guilty consciences here, apparently.

Funny to see the "well, they do it, too!" argument trotted out (aka the BG3 defense) when white nationalist groups are called out.

Oh I'm sorry, I didn't see you mention the KKK.  Seems like I just seen you mention the non-PC crowd and Trump enthusiasts. But you're right, they're all the same.  Nothing wrong with that line of thinking.

You serious, Clark?

The "tell it like it is", proudly "non-pc" crowd has been empowered to get vocal through Trump's campaigning.

Of course the phrases in quotations above are just euphemisms adopted by the racists that are crawling out of the woodwork.
I've been screaming this from the beginning. The conflation of "non-pc" (a valid and currently important stance) and either oafish and mean spirited trolling or flat out white nationalism is the biggest travesty of this election cycle.

Now even I am sheepish to use the term "PC" because everyone else fails to see the difference.

I didn't see blatant racism but a sad commentary on society. And I suspect more so in black neighborhoods. I only know I wouldn't laugh, video and talk jive if I came upon this. Maybe when I was 12?

Really sad. Different cultures for sure but would the people be treated much different if they were blacks in a white neighborhood?

I think so, at least more often. So, do I need to self-impose an x ban for thinking racist thoughts?

I really am sorry.

There has been a ton of trolling I'm sure. Specifically on social media.  But honestly, let's compare videos taken from this year of actual violent racism. How many videos are you going to find of white people beating black people for being black?  How many violent attacks on white people are you going to see by packs of black people?

Be honest with yourselves and just for a second lay down the white guilt.  Yall really believe Trump is the cause of your overwhelming (perceived) white nationalism? Or could it possibly be all the bullshit that has gone on with the violence of BLM protests since Ferguson?

I'm not saying racism is ok. It isn't. I'm just sick to death of people with agendas blaming anything racist in our civilization right now on Trump. It's a stupid arguement and it isn't true. What the fuck does Donald Trump have to do with this discussion before Wes brought him into it?  It was an argument about what he considered a racist comment about Japanese people.

I'm not disagreeing with you about BLM. Like, at all. I'm sure it is doing a SIGNIFICANT part in the emergence of reactionary white racists. But then once they come out of the woodwork for political advocacy, what are they doing? Endorsing Trump. I see that Wes is blaming Trump and you're blaming BLM, but I see two different observations. BLM is stirring shit up, and for a lot of white racists they think Trump is the solution. They think "Well, this guy will say anything, he doesn't care if it fits in with polite society", and that empowers them to come out of the woodwork in the name of "anti-PC".

Do you believe that any racists black people involved in the BLM movement supported anyone but Obama in the last two elections?  Does that make Obama racist and responsible for the racist members of the BLM movement?

I don't think that anyone should be shocked that white racists are supporting the white male candidate in this election.  Just as they shouldn't be shocked that racists Black men would support a black male president.

This is where BLM gets a double victory, White man down, blacks beat the shit out of him, because they are oppressed. Black dude down in white neighborhood, whites beat the shit out him. We racist.  The second part I use to think would not happen unless the black dude dropped down on Skinhead Ave. Now I think most folks would just ignore the person in need.

I have yet to hear one affluent black leader come out and say anything against BLM. Hell Jerry Rice backed tracked his "All lives matter" comment because he started getting heat from BLM.

I'm not saying racism is ok. It isn't.

Why isn't it?

Why is it taboo to accept the fact that people ARE different, that people (whether genetics or upbringing) react to situations differently (see the Walgreens video), people of different ethnicities enjoy different things, have different physical makeup, etc.

We are not all the same.  Pretending we are and trying to force that concept is why we have problems.

Demanding equal outcomes is why we have problems.

Demanding respect without doing a damn thing to earn it is why we have problems.

A complete breakdown in the concepts of civility and compassion -- fueled by (and I'm sorry to say this) integration and the removal of prayer in schools -- is why we have problems.

No.  That's not what I'm saying at all.

That shit has always been there.  It's the ugly, hidden truth but it has never been so prominently displayed as it has this election cycle.  The average racist on the street, unaffiliated with any organized hate organization, is now seeing this shit go mainstream and is feeling empowered to voice/embrace/accept those dark tendencies to hate based on race.

Trump didn't cause it, but he damn sure encouraged it to come creeping into the daylight.

I still think Tennessee is a mirage and remains a middle-of-the-pack SEC team. Problem is, the entire East is a dumpster fire.

There's not a team in that division that would finish any better than fourth in the West.

For evidence?  Look what MSU did to South Carolina.  And Georgia had to run back an onsides kick attempt to get a late cushion.

That fucking Titan Tiger.  Moving football discussions to the government board.  I can't keep up with this shit.

Damn it son.  This is the SGA.  Take your football discussions and put em where they belong.

I think this will cover both the sports, and the politics.

The east is garbage. Have been for a while. But with that said, Saban's teams are known for dropping 1 a season regardless of how many times they finish strong.  Alabama is on upset alert this weekend for sure.

The LSU/Florida debacle will make the finish interesting. LSU wanted to play but Florida didn't. Now LSU might be stuck playing their last 3 games of the season on the road. Sucks for them.

Jacobs should have offered to let them tee it up in JHS.

If memory serves every time Johnny Quest was in trouble, Hadji always seem to be around.

Hadji didn't carry toilet paper around with him, so Johnny Quest never ate boiled peanuts.

The things look like Yorkie turds
