Title: 2015 X-Gate
Post by: djsimp on August 30, 2015, 11:54:46 PM
Its been a while since this has been discussed and frankly I don't remember the outcome of the discussion, but is the AU/MSU game going to be the official X-Gate soiree?

As I mentioned last week, someone seriously needs to go check out the spot. There have been some major changes to it. The amount of room that has always been there, is not there now. It appears the X Gate spot has become the victim of the Softball success.

There was once a time when you guys would have 3 or 4 of these a season...

I also understand that the main contributor decided after last season he wasn't going to continue.  It was his grill, satellite, tvs and sound system.  Not sure there will still be a setup at all in that spot this season.

Hard to imagine Joe NOT grilling for a season. That would be weird...and sad.

Me and the Mrs. are still looking at the schedule, Prolly not gonna make a game, We are looking at the weekend of the Idaho game but right now only looking. That's the only way to get a hotel room that doesn't break us. Priced the MSU game and rooms in Opelika (Best Western) was $276.00 a night (Before taxes) with flight and all others it is becoming a $2000.00 weekend.

Would be the first time in about 13 years we didn't make our way back to the plains.

Yup, pricing In that area is very affordable, but the medical expense when we get back is most concerning.

Mrs. Dallas said she would never stay in that area again. We made the mistake once. This was the cleaning crew we saw one morning.

Any updates on the X-Gate site?  I'm going up Saturday so I'll ride by and check it out.  Also, I just saw a big set of tailgating fan pics from the ATL and there was one of Smokin' Joe stirring a big pot of beans or chili or something else delicious.  Anyone hear from the head chef?

Nothing updated on the facebook page but I was gonna check it out as well.  We rented a condo for the weekend.  Taking the Warden up for the game/weekend.

Glad to hear that...I was planning to be there with mini-me and one of his friends in tow.  I tried a few weeks ago to call him, but haven't heard back yet.

I'll have my mini in tow as well.  I guess I need to stop referring to him as mini since he turned 15 yesterday and he's now right at 6'2".  I've still got a couple of inches on him and I'll always be able to kick his ass.  At least that's what I'll keep telling him.

He still has both nuts and youth. Advantage mini snags.

Seriously, someone find out stat what the deal is with Joe. At least before Miss State.

Imagine if you were a drummer, and you accidentally picked up two magic wands instead of sticks. There you are, keeping the beat, the next thing you know, your bass player turns into a can of soup.

I did.  Didn't see Joe and they've pulled the fence out to within about 15 feet of the road.  Room for cars to park but not much else.

Come early.  Lube up sufficiently.  Night game.

Auburn's SEC home opener is set for primetime.

The Tigers will host Mississippi State on ESPN, ESPN2 or the SEC Network on Sept. 26, the SEC announced Monday.

The game will kick off at 6 p.m. CT or 6:30 p.m. CT. The network and time will be determined late Saturday or early Sunday.

Texas A&M-Arkansas in Arlington, Texas and Missouri at Kentucky are also among the networks' options.
