Skreets Rivals is reporting that Jermaine Whitehead is not making the trip to K.State and that Moncrief was seen with a wrap over his left wrist and arm. Apparently Steven Roberts and Kalvarez Bessent have been getting work at safety the past 10 days and could play tomorrow night.
Freshmen that will be making the trip:
Roc Thomas
Dontavius Russell
Stephen Roberts
Tre Williams
Kalvarez Bessent (interesting)
Sean White
Rashad Kennion
Nick Ruffin
Braden Smith

Looks like it's gonna take 50 to win now.

If true that sucks, big time.

No worries. We'll just substitute some more shitty DBs for the shitty DBs that won't be playing. Because in the secondary....we're still shitty.

Wonder if they move Holsey back to safety?

Yes but he was the best of the shitty.

The biggest turd in the punchbowl?

The biggest turd in the punchbowl?
The one with the most ice interceptions and tackles.
-
With lock down CB's, who needs safeties anyway? Except for those runs up the middle that our Safeties usually have to make the tackle 15 yds down the field. Since Jake is gone.
-
Moncrief can still play Safety...played the San Jose St. game with the wrap.

Why are they keeping Neiko Whitehead back home?

Well it wasn't their call. He couldn't catch the bus to the airport.

WOTS: Marshall starts at CB, Johnson at QB. Problem solved.
He's the best athlete on the field and what a bold move it will be to put Nick in the position that suits his talents as a professional football player.
No controversy. Nick's the starting QB and Johnson is the future.
Everybody wins!

No but I sure would like to see it happen.

hmmmm, your own your own with this one bro. Just because JJ is the better passer, I can't pick him as the better qb in this offense. Nick can smoke 'em on the edge, to be blunt.

The bus faked left with the blinker but turned right. Screwed him all up.

He's still chasing it from 10 yards behind

No doubt. Probably quicker than all D1 QBs. But QB is not in his future and I just would like to see him up his stock all around and get a shot at a position so few dual threats can play. It's generally at WR where you see the guys get a tryout. And a few starts back there and some spot play would showcase that talent.

I can see why a couple over here couldn't make it at the ewaw sight...

I don't think there is too many here that would cry about it. You must have been sold on the Updog account.

Not aware of the site, just like to bounce some ideas occasionally.
I just don't want to see the guy end up empty handed after he has performed so well, that's all.

WOTS: Whitehead got into a altercation with an assistant coach.
I feel about Whitehead, about the same as I felt about former Auburn OLinemen AJ Greene & Mark Pera. Jumbo knows how I felt about those two and how happy I was to see Greene go down in the Clemson game in '10. I know, I know, don't cheer an injury, but him getting hurt forced the staff to put someone else in, in this case it would be a converted TE Brandon Moseley...after Moseley came in, Newton stopped having to run for his life immediately after the snap (DeQuan Bowers didn't do much after Greene got hurt)....Silver Lining and all that.
For the record, I didn't cheer (out loud) when Greene got hurt, I was just wanting him to be replaced.
Now, with Whitehead out for however long, someone that hopefully knows how to tackle will replace him...and that makes me happy.

I would love to see Garrett start at Star and Therieze start at safety just for this week.

Yes, they are always around the ball.

Speaking Srsly, I don't think we have to worry about Nick making it to the NFL. Now, if he has the Tebow attitude, then no. But I don't think Nick will have that. Maybe someone will give him a shot at QB. I would think Philly would be an obvious choice. But if not, Nick can play. I would think CB or slot are natural fits.
But he's a damn fine QB in Malzahn's O.
