Vanderbilt owns only winning streak against national champ
With a current 15-game winning streak, it's not surprising that Auburn has a strong recent record against its SEC competition. In fact, the Tigers posted a win in their most recent encounter with 10 of their 11 conference foes.
The lone exception? Vanderbilt.
The last time the Tigers and Commodores faced off, Vanderbilt recorded a 14-13 win on Oct., 4, 2008. As surprising as the loss was, the game was a matchup of ranked teams (Vanderbilt entered ranked No. 19; Auburn No. 14).
The Commodores went on to lose six of their next seven games, while the loss also started the Tigers on a 1-6 skid that spelled the end to Tommy Tuberville's tenure.
Of course, since that time the two programs have gone in different directions.
