Thank-you Token, so much for a scorefest huh? It was about speed and power as you say. Newton struggled and was hemmed up by Rowe but it didnt matter. Thomas wouldn't run it. James couldn't run it and Maehl did what so many other receivers did to the secondary all season and that didn't matter either. Special teams had it's best game too. Very proud yet somewhat relieved after the long wait.

Honestly, Cam just played human tonight and we still won. If he would have played super-human like he has all year, Auburn could have won by 21.
The defense played great. I didn't think that the Oregon team would be able to compete upfront, but I had no idea it was going to be that much of a mismatch. If it wasn't for a few fake punts, and going for it on fourth down, we could have locked that bitch down earlier.

Gus yanked Chizik aside at the end of the game and convinced him to run one more play instead of kicking the field goal with 10 seconds. I know it was a slim chance of OU doing anything with that much time left, but there was zero chance of them doing anything with no time left.

Cam was off just a hair. And he was banged up late. The OL wasn't dominant early, but picked it up late. The score should have been more like a 10-14 pt victory, but I'll take it the way it was.
Oregon harped about their speed, and for some damn reason, national folks, who have seen SEC speed first hand thought that Oregon had a chance based on that. I think it was early on that Oregon figured out that they didn't have the speed they thought they had compared to Auburn, and I said it in another post that I didn't think Auburn would be surprised or overwhelmed by either their team speed, or the speed at which they run their offense. I did figure they'd score more as I thought Oregon would try to throw more. I never thought they'd be able to run it, but didn't think we'd stifle them to the extent we did. The defense took all the pregame snub by the lack of coverage for their contribution personally, and they all played big and played for 60 minutes. It should be noted that playing a team that runs the option like Oregon took some very good coaching, and the way Fairley handled being left unblocked wasn't all his talent...that took being prepared.

Dyer took MVP, that was great. Little man knows what to do with the football. Burns too, he deserved that TD for all that he sacrificed to put team first.

Even Herbie said time and again, if they are going to run, they have got to get to the outside. Plus, if they had thrown to Maehl all night, they would have kicked our asses. SO GLAD Nieko is graduating!!

I'm not sure about that. I think he could have fit in nicely in the McCaleb role.
BTW, There was a video on Rivals of him being interviewed and he still talked about Auburn and said "we". It was crazy. It looked like he wanted to cry 3 or 4 times in the video. You can tell he was actually hurt that he thinks he fucked himself out of a chance to play at Auburn. He still talks to Luper's son all the time. It was a painful interview to watch quite honestly.

I think Latt is kicking himself. It was HIS choice not to come to Auburn. I am not sure Lache can say the same. Maybe if Lache wouldn't have acted like a fucking idiot maybe...but ultimately, I think Auburn moved on and Lache didn't have a choice but to go to Oregon.

Whenever all of the media crys about Cam Newton's Father being in attendance of his son's biggest game of his Collegate career, that should tell everyone with a brain something. There's only a few in the media that respected Auburn, from Cam Newton bullshit, to Nick Fairley being too mean...to Touching down in Birminham to see a sign, in the airport, that reads "Congratulations, War Eagles, for Winning The National Championship." Zero Fucking Respect. This Auburn team rose above all of that scrutiny and won The Whole Fuckin' Thang.

If Jacobs would have said Cecil would attend, then you have 1/2 of the BCSCG being about find Waldo. Since Jacobs said what he said, no media was looking for him in the crowd. I think there a lot more than just Auburn fans are thankful that didn't happen.

Not defending them by any means...not in my nature. But I watched all the conspiracy theorists talk about everything from referees being bought off to ESPN/CBS/NBC/ABC and the BBC making sure they got a UT/UA matchup to no holding calls ever being made to Colt threw the game..and on and on. Fuck it. They won it on the field for 14 straight games and told everyone else to kiss that toothless ass.
This year, we as Auburn fans are having to endure it. After going on some other boards and experiencing other fans first hand, I don't think I've ever been exposed to more sour grapes in my life. For some reason, they can't let this be a great story for these guys who overcame all odds and became one of the most improbable national champions in recent history. No, it's articles and comments about stripping the title. It's Auburn is the biggest bunch of thugs in college football. Hey, Fairley may be, but he's OUR big ole cuddly thug. The frustrating thing is, I don't think I'm just looking at this through orange and blue glasses when I say this, but Auburn fans really are one of the classiest fanbases in the country. Certainly for a team that actually wins anything. I've never seen an Auburn fan be anything more than hospitable to a visiting team. Offering their beer and food to their opponents, and wishing them a good game. I have never seen such venomous hatred as I have this year at games. Pretty much the entire second half of the season, I've had some asshole in his $cam Newton t-shirts (that every fanbase prints up as if they are original) literally scream in my face about we're a bunch of cheaters. Saw two assholes at the Oregon game wave money in Cam's face when he came up by them on the sideline. When some dickface yells that kind of shit at you, it sucks cause you don't have a good one line defense. Give me five minutes to tell you why you're a dumbass, compare the situation to the Albert Means case, point out that everything that is being alleged happened at Mississippi State, and that even with all of that said, all that actually happened was a MSU booster and Cecil discussing the possibility of payment. Doesn't work well in a short angry retort to the asshole yelling "Scam Newton, baby! Bunch a cheaters!"
So with all of that said, I think it's about time to embrace it. It wouldn't piss me off as much to be as hated as we were if we actually were as classless as we're purported to be. I say we change our logo to an orange and blue Jolly Roger, walk up to people's tailgates and take a dump on their grill. I say we all take on the Prowler mentality. I used to defend AU and make people try to like them, fuck that, if they want to hates us, then they can hate us. Oh, I am usually the one to not talk smack and when someone starts I don't say anything other than look at them, still trying to keep that up, but have caught myself saying a thing or two.
I am to the point where someone mentions something negative, I just say "haters gonna hate" or if they call us cheaters, I just say "glass houses and stuff, am i right?"

I could really care less if they tour the trophy at Academy, Wal-Mart or even fucking Bargain Town. It doesn't cheapen the trophy, the people do.
