Title: Charlie Watts Dead at 80
Post by: Snaggletiger on August 24, 2021, 02:30:21 PM
Drummer for the Rolling Stones died today.  That's one band that I've always wanted to see, even though they're not one of my favorites.  Just kind of a, "Yeah, I saw the Stones" thing.  Very much like Queen.  I liked a lot of their music, but I had a buddy who was fanatic about them.  He got tix to see them in Atlanta and asked me to go.  Damn glad I did.  Top 2 or 3 shows of all time for me.  I think the Stones, even at their age, would be off the charts.  Closest I've been is going to see "Satisfaction" the touring Stones cover band last Fall in Destin.  Anyone seen the Rolling Stones?

Saw them when I in high school on the Steel Wheels tour.

Great show.  RIP to one of the greats.

Yup. June of 2015 at Bobby Dodd on their very abbreviated zip code tour.

Shitty stadium. Worst I’ve ever been in. But a helluva show. Probably the best concert I’ve seen in person and I’ve been to a ton. The showmanship was just crazy good. Didn’t realize Charlie was 80 but mick is 78 and Keith is 77. Time flies.
