While that's funny, you do have to wonder what the fuck is up with the police in GA and the UGA program. I mean DUI is one thing, but hauling a kid in for being too stupid to spell his middle name and charging him with obstruction? ShiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiT.

Headlinin': Georgia player charged for forgetting middle name

Making the morning rounds.
• What we have here is a failure to communicate. University of Georgia police continued its tradition of heroism against marauding Bulldog players Monday night, when it picked up cornerback Jordan Love for failing to provide officers with his middle name. Officers responding to a complaint about fireworks at a dormitory charged Love with misdemeanor obstruction, claiming the 19-year-old sophomore "gave his first and last name, but he said he didn’t know his middle name, then said he kind of knew it, but didn’t know how to spell it," according to UGA police chief Jimmy Williamson. Police can't drop charges after an arrest, but the case is unlikely to make it past a magistrate judge. (Feel free to add your own fail horn to Uga's expression of distain. For the record, Love's middle name is "Lawrence.") [Athens Banner Herald, via SBN]
