Title: Pre-Dick-Shuns Week Oito
Post by: Snaggletiger on October 17, 2023, 10:45:16 AM
Last week, I missed on Tenn/A&M and Ducks/Huskies.  Both down to the wire games.  Despite our own troubles, the fact is, we’re pretty much living up to the expectations of everybody who is not an Auburn fan.  We didn’t want to believe it would be a long road back, but unfortunately, that’s reality.  However, I’d rather be in our shoes, than those of the Aggie fans.  As a follow up to last year’s debacle, The Greasy Car Salesman already has 3 losses half way through the season, and the Bonfire Boys are again, talking about ponying up about $70 million to send him packing.

Will somebody please get some common sense, and learn from these ridiculously one-sided contracts?

Penn State @ tOhio State:  Not a great slate of foosballz contests this weekend.  The feature game is clearly The Fighting Sandusky’s at THE Ohio State University. Two undefeated, top 10 clubs. While neither of these teams has exactly played a murderer’s row of opponents, they both come in with unbelievable D’s, giving up less than 10 points a game. The Nuts are 4 point favorites at home, but I’m going with Franklin finally getting a signature win.

Penn State:  20

Ohio State:  17

Tennessee @ Alabama: Bama opens as a 9.5 point favorite.  Sometimes, I wonder what games these odds makers have been watching, especially after seeing Bama almost take it on the chin against the Piggies.  But, they certainly know better than me about that shipth. I took in a good bit of the Vols/Aggies game, and UT has some athletes, especially on the D-line.  Joe Milton III is wildly inconsistent, and if Hooker was still taking snaps, I’d take the Vols by double digits in this one.  However, it is at The Crapstone, and the Tahd has been finding ways to win the close ones.

Alabama:  24

Tennessee:  21

Ole Miss @ Auburn:  I said in last week’s thread, that despite LSU’s D being ass, I didn’t think we would come up with enough offensive firepower to get in a shootout with them.  We didn’t.  In fact, we took two steps backward on that side of the ball.  What would make anybody think they’ll magically come up with creative ways to keek the touchdowns this week?  On the other hand, the Landshark Black Bears know what they’re doing on offense.  Our only hope is for Lane Kiffin to go for it 7 times on 4th down.  Still won’t help. Hobby Lobby.

Ole Miss:  35

Auburn:  21

Feel free to opine, talk amongst yourselves, or bring other games into the mix.

Normally, I wouldn't give two turds about Missouri and Sakerlina.  Still don't. But, Drink and the Tigers are looking to go 7-1.  I watched a good bit of their game against LSU, and that's not a half bad football team.

Plus, for some reason, I've already grown sick of hearing how Goiter Jr. has the Cocks on the verge of greatness.  Maybe a little 2-5 will do them good.

Call me crazy (but don't call my Shirley).

Ohio State 27
Penn State 24
I think we get some good defense in this one followed by a mini-explosion of points. Give me the home team with the most explosive player to get it done (Ohio St and Marv Jr.)

Tennessee 28
Alabama 23
This is the week riding on the razor's edge of stupidity on offense finally catches up to the Tide. Their defense isn't so stout that this UT team can't hurt Alabama where it counts. Eventually not being able to produce on offense is going to catch them and trading 3s for 7s in this game is the difference.

Ole Miss 38
Auburn 23
We are going to keep rotating dudes at QB and that's a recipe for hanging the defense out to dry against a team that can scheme up some big plays. Close for a half or more, but Lane's dudes pull away similar to the aTm game.

Iowa 13
Minnesota 9
Brian Ferentz continues his one-man crusade against offensive production as the Hawkeyes continue to roll up wins and piss off neo-socialist sports media. The row boat is taking on water.

Miami 24
Clemson 21
Dabo is so convinced his fans need to chill because he knows his team is a shell of the title-winning program it was a few years ago. The U is not back at all but if they can avoid self-immolation, they have the talent to win.

I taught this guy everything that he knows. I’m not sure that he will admit it but I did. And I am proud of him.
