Title: Lindy's
Post by: Snaggletiger on June 01, 2022, 11:56:30 AM
Picked up their preseason rag last night.  Wish I hadn't.  They hate us.  Tank and Derick Hall are pretty good.  After that:

Bryman Hatpin is on the hot seat after only one year.

Those evil boosters are meddling again.

We have no QB

Our recruiting sucked

Not one of our units, QB, RB, WR, O-line, D-line, LB, DB or special teams, is considered top 5 in the nation.

We're preseason #46 behind Bama, FUGA, A&M, Arkansas, Ole Miss, Tennessee, LSU, Florida, Kentucky and Mississippi State

We're one of the teams trending downward

Oh well, you know how it goes when nobody expects diddly, fiddly, fickity squat from Auburn.

Triple Lindy or GTFO.

Good.  I like our team and I like that no one is expecting much from them.

Good answer.  Good answer.  I like the way you think.  I'm gonna be watching you.

I love the preseason rags.  I usually get 2 of them and by the start of the season, they're worn out and torn like the Penthouse I stole from my dad when I was 12.

The first 30-40 pages are usually the ratings on players, units and recruiting, what coaches moved where, etc.  But I like them more to see a team's schedule, returning starters, heights and weights (of course), transfers and stats. It's why I created a dynasty in the Battle for the Crown.  Do not dispute me on that.

I know some of the take on Auburn was ill-informed, but realistically, if I take off the O&B glasses and lose some of the defensiveness, why would people outside the program have any other outlook on this team?

They did investigate Harvinz.

We don't have a QB on the roster that scares anybody.

We have the same O-line that's been average at best.

There's not one receiver on this club you can point to as a go to guy.

We are on a 5 game losing streak

So no, I don't expect much love from any of the rags, analysts or "experts".  Personally, I think we're going to be much better if one of the QB's steps up, and Byron Havlinz gets his head out of his ass with on the field coaching decisions. (See MSU, Sakerlina and Bama games for reference)

On the contrary, I think EVERY QB on the roster scares Harsin, Keys, and the rest of the offensive staff. Probably the Defensive staff too know how much they will have to play...

I disagree.

Post-surgery Calzada is a known quantity against SEC play.  He's had some nice moments.

Finley isn't the lost cause some are declaring.

Robby Ashford (A-Day Legend) has plenty of skill.

I don't think we're as bereft of talent as some seem to think.  I think an underperforming, patchwork OL made last year worse than it had to be.
