Title: Camps and Snappers
Post by: Snaggletiger on May 27, 2022, 11:25:21 AM
From Mark Murphy at Auburn Undercover.  I like what I'm seeing.

Coach Bryan Harsin and his staff are scheduled to have three “elite” camps for prospects in the coming weeks. The first is set for June 3rd followed by ones on June 6th and June 10th. The coach said he is expecting to have a large number of prospects attend these events and others will be on campus throughout the month of June for unofficial and official visits.

On June 15th the Tigers will be hosts for an offensive/defensive lineman camp as well as a specialist camp for kickers, punters and long snappers. The following day the Tigers will hold a seven-on-seven camp for high school teams and another one on June 23rd.

*The annual women’s football clinic, which is traditionally a popular event, is set for June 17th.

*Players are scheduled to be back next week from their break and will resume strength and conditioning workouts in addition to taking summer classes. Additionally, the Tigers will be doing voluntary workouts with their position groups throughout the summer. Harsin mentioned that this is an important time for the players to build chemistry that he hopes will show up on Saturdays in the fall. Harsin said the spring graduating high school seniors, along with the transfers, are "itching" to get to campus and show the coaching staff what they can do this season.

Oh, and this little blurb from al.com gave me pause for chub.

His coaching staff visited 683 high schools during the spring evaluation period. Head coaches can’t travel during spring evals, but assistant coaches can, and Harsin’s staff visited over 300 high school programs in Alabama even if the school didn’t have an Auburn recruit on the current roster.

Between this and the podcast, it's safe to say the message about networking and relatability has been received.  I can appreciate that and hope that it's evidence of Harsin's ability to adapt and grow rather than simple acquiescence to the powers-that-be.

Yes. It was received loud and clear. Some even think the mostly “hot air in the news” stuff from feb was purely for that reason. I’m still mizzou on him at the moment but the message was heard and there is an attempt now. I’ll give him credit for that. He’s trying.
