Title: STILL no credit
Post by: Kaos on April 29, 2018, 10:03:08 PM
Isis has been neutralized.
North Korea has been brought to heel.
The economy has been salvaged.

Had Obama in his eight years or that Clinton shrew in her first two managed ONE of those accomplishments, much less all three, either would be hailed as the greatest statesman in the history of this country.

Trump?  They can't bear to give him the credit he deserves.

GOAT so far.

Better than Lincoln. Better than any Roosevelt. Better than Kennedy.  At least as good as Reagan.  None of them had to deal with as much press vitriol (except maybe Lincoln).

China playing fair on trade and Korea ending their "war" with a meeting on the DMZ line is just huge. Never thought I'd see either in my lifetime.

My best sources explain the budget deal as a defeat that Trump begrudgingly signed. Opens the door for Dems to spend like it's 2025 when they get one of theirs back in there.
Beyond that he has far exceeded other presidents in just a quarter of a term.
Jeff Sessions appointment.
Only two negatives.

GDP as historically pointed out grows moreso with separate houses so losing control of congress maybe not the worst thing.
China loves American products and its thought that Trump will win them over bigtime.

Kudos to Rand Paul for two major assists when the votes weren't there.

Then there's this.
Trump believes knock-knock jokes are supreme. He doesn't really understand humor.

Pfffttt all you want. But the facts remain.

If you believe that trashing talking North Korea, trying to get China to "talk sense to them", telling your now former Secretary of State (Rex Tillerson) that it's a waste of time trying to negotiate with "Little Rocket Man", calling Kim Jong Un "Little Rocket Man", "short and fat"...oh yeah and threatening nuclear war is grounds for a Nobel Peace prize (then that prize goes into the garbage next to the Heisman after Ingram "won it"). Also, I wasn't joking when I said that Dennis Rodman had more to do with the Korea peace talks than Trump did (If you don't believe me, do your own research).

The statement was "the economy has been salvaged"...The economy was climbing under Obama (he's the one that actually had to salvage it from Clinton and Bush). All Trump has to do is not fuck it up. But, looking at his cabinet (the ones that haven't been fired)...not fucking up will be a accomplishment.

As for North Korea "coming to heel"...the mountain that they were testing their nuclear weapons collapsed, pretty sure that had A LOT to do with their stopping nuclear testing. Plus, Kim Jong Un has stated that no more tests are needed. But, we've heard this before. Let's take a trip down memory lane shall we.

In 1985, North Korea signed the UN Nuclear Non-proliferation Treaty.

In 1992, North Korea signed a treaty with South Korea whereby both promised not to pursue nuclear weapons.

In 1994, North Korea signed a treaty with the U.S. promising to freeze and dismantle its nuclear program in exchange for aid (millions of people starved to death in North Korea in the 1990's as the result of a horrendous famine). It was discovered in 2002 that North Korea had been operating a secret nuclear program in violation of the 1994 treaty.

In 2005, following the Six Party Talks, North Korea formally agreed to give up its nuclear program in exchange for energy aid and new trade oppoetunities with the other 5 members of the talks (China, Russia, Japan, South Korea, and the U.S.); North Korea successfully tests its first nuclear warhead in 2006, violating the terms of this agreement. Six Party talks continue to try to resolve the situation until 2008, when they finally break down.

In 2010, North Korea issued a statement saying it would be party to non-proliferation and disarmament "on equal footing with other nuclear weapon states."

In 2011, Kim Jong Il agrees in negotiations with Dmitry Medvedev (Russia) to halt the nuclear weapons program; there are talks about bringing back the Six Party negotiations.

In 2012, North Korea agreed to temporarily stop testing and operation of a Uranium enrichment facility in exchange for food aid from the U.S. The U.S. withdrew food aid when it discovered North Korea was still operating these facilities.

Russia had a lot to do with stomping out ISIS.
China had more to do with North Korea than we did (Dennis Rodman had more to do with North Korea than Trump)
Barack Obama was the one that had to salvage the economy after Bill Clinton and George W Bush. Trump is still riding Obama's wave.
China is not "playing fair on trade", they aren't going to put anymore tariffs on US products, they're about to start canceling orders.

If said "half a fraction of a penny" is half the person's budget, then that's a lot to that person. The Indonesian Project budget is right around $1 Billion...and I'm no rocket surgeon, but that $500M is around half of the budget.

Meh. Part of the negotiation. I personally don't think that they would have announced a summit if the basic "we help your economy, you no more nukes" wasn't a part of the deal to even meet. If N. Korea abandons talks, we are right where we started again (except with 3 U.S. prisoners back...sorry Otto), and the N. Korean nuclear program continues (very poorly which you have stated earlier) as normal.

It really is crazy how since Trump was elected, that there is half of the country that seems to actually route against America's best interest. I don't care who you vote for or who is elected President, I would ultimately think that the goals of the American people would be somewhat the same.
I never thought I would see people call Israelis and Americans the terrorist or blame a president for trying to denuclearize an evil dictator or people shamed and bullied for supporting the POTUS. Yet that seems to be happening. Crazy world we live in.

Exactly.  And people can take his words and actions and twist them into whatever negative connotations they want. Case in point, I saw an article where Spike Lee was at the Cannes Film Festival, introducing his new movie.  He went off on Trump in a speech, calling him a motherfucker and referencing his reaction to the Charlottesville protest/clash, where he said both sides were to blame.  I pulled up several articles about the clashes so I could get several points of view and not just a slanted perspective from Fox or CNN or the NY Times.  One in particular simply quoted about 15 different people on both sides of the fight who were actually there in the middle of it.
Both sides came ready for a fight. Both sides came armed with everything from pepper spray to bats to guns.  The protesters came with the intention of physically blocking some of the rally participants from entering the venue and the people attending came with the intent of physically forcing their way through the protesters.  100 time out of 100, this will result in fights breaking out.  President Trump could not have been more right in his assessment in saying both sides were to blame.  How do you describe it differently?  But since he didn't come out and condemn the side people disagreed with....Trump evil racist.
BTW, on one hand, I completely support people's right to assemble peacefully, no matter what their cause or the subject matter is.  But after reading quotes from some of the people attending the rally, I'd love to take a bat upside dat head myself.  Jeez, there were some racist scumbags there.

Back to North Korea being "brought to heel"

Quote
President Donald Trump (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/news/donald-trump/) on Thursday canceled a scheduled June 12 summit in Singapore with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un after recent sparring between the two countries over the planned nuclear talks.

“Sadly, based on the tremendous anger and open hostility displayed in your most recent statement, I feel it is inappropriate, at this time, to have this long-planned meeting,” Trump wrote in a letter to Kim.

South Korean officials appeared blindsided by the announcement. “We are attempting to make sense of what, precisely, President Trump means,” said spokesman Kim Eui-kyeom.

Trump’s announcement came hours after North Korean officials threatened to cancel the summit (https://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/north-korea-trump-summit-nuclear-showdown_us_5b063d21e4b0784cd2b1247e), angered by recent comments from Vice President Mike Pence and national security adviser John Bolton, who compared North Korea with Libya.

Trump plans meeting with North Korea

MSM: "oh my god! He will lead us into WWIII!! What a stupid idea!"

Trump cancels meeting with North Korea

MSM: "Oh my god!! What a failure! He is unfit to lead!! The Koreans are laughing at us!!"

North Korea bends and still offers to meet

MSM: "What a waste! They cannot be trusted!! Trump is a fool!!"

Guess which news media had these quotes...

"His willingness to meet with North Korea is one of the most disturbing displays of (his) lack of foreign policy expertise..."

&

"His willingness to meet with North Korea is a huge foreign policy win..."

I'm sure you are being facetious, but I would imagine it's Fox on both, one about Obama and one about Trump, while being completely clueless to the 100's of examples that could be shown on BOTH sides of the aisle of their opinion pieces...

While everything you said is probably spot on pertaining to the media, etc., the suspense probably is killing Snags. I don’t think he has very much going on right now.

Both quotes are from Sean Hannity of fox news. One talking about Obama and the other about Trump.

Ding ding ^^

Britt Hume, Rich Lowry and Ben Shapiro are still saying the first one - about trump. Most everyone else on there is saying the second. Opinion pieces will cover all sides on every circumstance.

Ok. I'll bite here. A little.
Context. How we go about conducting these meetings. The skill level of the person involved. What is the objective. Are we bringing them to us? Or are we bowing down to them ?

It's everything.

Nixon meeting with china or carter with Sadat I'm not sure I would put on equal footing with Reagan in Iceland or even trump in Singapore.

That's bullshit. Just last week me and snags were grabbing sushi on the circle and no less than 8 people recognized him. Poor guy could barely get lunch. Such high demand. And yes the sushi was great smarty pants.

I'm a pretty big deal at the Chow King.

On the quotes thingy, I'll be the first to admit that both Hannity and Limbaugh are almost impossible to endure because I want at least a modicum of fairness coming from who I listen to.  They both sound like broken records and it's all-in, extreme right wing drivel for the most part.

I did however, send the quotes through the Googled Chromes, and Prowler's ..... after each one is correct.  Maybe not with regard to Hannity, but more with respect to comments from Dims and Repugs over the years referring to a particular President meeting with strong arm foreign leaders.  The same statements were made about Obama and Clinton and George W., but were qualified. "It would be foolish to meet with the leader of Iran "without first doing...."  "It would be a complete failure to meet with the North Korean leader before first making sure..."

It would have been nice to see you GH. But honestly, I’ve been stuck with the check the last few times I’ve been in Dothan and as a disabled, frankly it’s uncalled for.

so before I hurt more than someone’s feelings, I’ve dined alone the last few times.

or, with someone’s wife that we know.

Did his recent birthday affect you?

”get over yourself”? This isn’t very kaosesque.

There’s an article in Vanity Fair of all places that basically grudgingly admits that Trump’s maneuvering with ex justice Kennedy was brilliant.

They can’t quite go far enough to admit it but the takeaway is that Trump’s not half the blundering fool the left takes him to be.  He’s like Kaos.

Your understanding is rudimentary.
Dumbass.

You turd wranglers would piss and moan if he didn’t try to address the ridiculous trade inequality.  You crap and groan when he does — and is doing whats best long term, not what’s politically expedient.  You’re so used to weak leaders making self-serving politically based decisions that you cant appreciate a long range vision.

You’d be roaring in outrage if he hadn’t fixed the economy.  You shriek like fools because he has.

You’d be apoplectic if he hadn’t acted to control immigration.  You mewl and thrash because he did.

So just shut your stupid yap or get the hell out of my country.

Don’t worry.  Hillary gonna run again.  We will soon get back to being taxed to death, unsustainable giveaway programs, open borders, rampant corruption, higher unemployment, a sagging economy, bowing and scraping to potentates, America last policies and energized enemies across the world.
