Title: Scrimmage Today
Post by: wesfau2 on March 24, 2018, 10:36:50 AM
Supposed to be run-oriented to sort the backfield.  I suspect it's also to protect the young QBs (Stidham not participating).

Gus says that special teams will be live reps.  Lots of new faces on the PK team: snapper, holder and kicker.

Unfortunately, it's a closed scrimmage so we'll be parsing coach-speak and player quotes to piece together what happens.

Look, focusing on finding your Long Snapper, is the key to establishing your identity as a team.  You start there and build outward.  We can worry about backs and quarterbacks and other trivial positions at a later date.

Defense dominated with 4 INTs and a FF.

I presume that's because our DLine is awesome and our OL is, to be generous, a work-in-progress.  That's troubling: in a "run-oriented scrimmage" each QB got 15-20 throws (no estimate on drops/incomplete passes.)

Looks like our starting running back may be called "Boobee."

On the bright side, the Carlson family leg is in fine form: 3/3 with a long of 52 yards.
