Title: Dumbass Phone Question - Android
Post by: wesfau2 on March 28, 2016, 04:24:31 PM
Android phones, one  Galaxy S3 and one S6, both on Sprint.

Sitting in a restaurant right now,  old phone killing it with connections and page load (internet)...showing middling cell connection but full Wi-Fi connection.

S6 showing one bar cell connection and full Wi-Fi connection....won't load shit.

Suggestions?

Did you get this rectified?

Make sure the WiFi calling is turned on the new phone.

Call your service provider and press 1 for engrish. Your settings may have you connecting to only 2g speeds.  If so, uncheck that mfer. If that doesn't do the trick then call customer service and threaten to move to Verizon. Maybe that'll work.

I loathe contract phones. Hello I get 10 gigs with Straight Talk through Verizon towers for $62. I'm happy with it so far. T-Mobile has oversold their towers and literally suck dick. Your carrier maybe be guilty too. Good luck with that. I wish I could afford a fancy, schmancy shiny new phone like you. Maybe the Bern will take yours and give it to me. It's only fair since make more money and all. Lol.

Did not.

It is.  I have to use WiFi calling at my house since my cell signal is for shit in the hinterlands.

Clearing the cache helped.

Stupid to have to continually monitor/dump that.

I CCleaner. It's okay, but I don't recommend it for use on smartphones, tabs or PCs. I may have to restore my phone as CCleaner may have removed some things I need. I loathe Chrome browser and wish there was an alternative like a Fedora Phone instead of Google. Firefox carashes, hell, errthang crashes. I'm getting an iPhone cause I'm tired of this shit.

Reboot your phone every morning.  Just make it part of your routine.  Doesn't matter if it is android or apple.  Solves loads of problems.  It's a computer...treat it as such.

I rarely have any issue with my Motorola 2900A, unless in a mountainous region. Or, without my magnetic antenna attachment.

Don't laugh. When my kids break their phone, they get the RAZR until they can save up for another phone.
