Nail-biting lose causes many bammers to review their priorities. Tuesday's Presser has a little twist as munchkin announces his move to the Cleveland Browns.
-
Not sure what the score may be, but I think that it will be close going into the 4th quarter, where Alabama will then pull away and win by 10. I think that Notre Dame is a good team, but I don't think that they have the manpower to go 4 quarters toe-to-toe with Alabama like LSU, or UGA can. If it comes down to a slugfest, I like Alabama's chances. I also think that the weather may play a little into it as well. While I understand that Notre Dame has been working indoors with heaters on to simulate the humidity and expected 70 degree temperature, I think that it will be a factor by the 4th quarter. I remember how Mich. St. was absolutely drained in the Capital One Bowl in 2010 by halftime. It was 65-70 degrees that day with maybe 60% humidity. They had been working indoors with heaters as well.

I feel this way too but I can find a bit of solace in the SEC keeping the title. What's one more trophy in the closet to add to the other 64 claimed Updyke championships.

I would like to watch the game, I just cannot sit through listening to the jizz fest of (Historic programs-historic match ups) and how College football is nothing without these great power houses and we should be lucky that we get to watch this “EPIC†match up.

There are 10 year olds that need cusssing on xbox.
I will dvr it just on the off chance that I get to see crying Alabama fans.

As much as I want to keep the "Championship Belt" in the SEC. For the turds to lose it, and it be to ND would make that worth while.

It's kind of all relative to where you live. All football season all I have heard is about A&M not being impressed with the SEC and Blah-Blah. But they have done it in classy fun way, talk trash but have fun with it. If I lived in the bama area I would wish nothing but failure and nuclear Holocaust on everybody.

I figure by halftime it will be over and I can watch Django Unchained on the TV.

A much better BCS champ would have Bama playing Oregon, UGA, TAMU or even USCe. I'm sure there are others that I'm leaving out. I don't think it will entertain at all but it will prob be closer than it should be because Saban sits on the lead.
This manure is just a made for TV event. ND is a top ten-15 team but they get their eyes beat out tonight on prime time. Believe me. I know everything.

Notre Dame's D is legit, law of averages catches up with the Tattooed one and he throws three picks. Bama has lost 12 fumbles this year, expect them to cough up another one tonight. ND wins.

Some of the Irish fans have thought of that. A lot of them say Alabama isn't very athletic, and Stanford's defense is just as good or better. And since ND beat Stanford, this should be easy. Maybe, but I doubt it. I don't think that ND can play Alabama straight up and win. They are good, but they aren't built like, say, UGA or LSU. They don't have the same mentality either. Look for a good bit of trick plays and aTm-like misdirection.

I don't recall aTm having to resort to a lot of trickery and/or "misdirection" to beat bammer, but I may misremember. Seems like they simply jumped all over bammer quickly, then held on long enough to win.
ND doesn't play that style. They are similar to bammer in style. We'll find out if they're for real or not tonight. They are sho-nuff big across their Def. front 7 starters. Their OL isn't small either. If their defense is for real, it could come down to the 4th Q, or turnovers. Of the 3 best teams bammer played, they lost to aTm, and it took the 4th Q drives in the 4th Q to overcome LSU and UGA, which, they accomplished. IF ND's defense is for real, and bammer trails in the 4th, then I'd lay odds they can't pull that off a 3rd time.

I agree ND D is for real. The front and LBs look stout from what little I've seen.
My "but" is that Bama is more well balanced as a team and I feel like Bama will pass on them early. Then, they'll pound em like me on Jennifer Anniston. Which is like a jack hammer on meth, FYI.

See, this is what I'm counting on also. But my thinking may be clouded by the mixture of Diet Mountain Dew and cold medicine. It's like purple drank, but whiter.
-
So they will only have the ball for 5 seconds?
If lucky. They will be aggressive at the line of scrimmage so I suggest a couple of hard counts
to draw them offsides.

Maybe. But it's a glorious 5 seconds.

^^This shit right here. The only 2 SEC teams I didn't absolutely pull against in the bowls was USC lite and Vandy. As for them winning? I could have gave a fuck less.
As for the game. I'm not looking for e-cred and I'm sure as hell biased with my prediction. So with that out of the way, I see Notre Dame, the most tradition rich program in all of CFB beating the toothless, inbred, cheating motherfuckers who has the most made up tradition in all of CFB by the score of 24-3. By the 4th quater Macaroon will be on the sideline crying again but this time it will be due to Manti Teo ripping his chest tattoo off and shoving it up Macaroon's ass.
-
Did the motherfuckers pull for us as they were poisoning our trees? Fuck them, I hope the fucking city sinks into the ocean after they lose.

Pregame is on with herbskreet and company weighing in with their bullshit.
-
The only thing giving me hope is that 9 out of 10 times you say something with this much pomposity, you are proven completely wrong.
I wasn't being pompous. Do you think Alabama isn't athletic? Do you think that Stanford's defense is as good, or better than Alabama's? Do you think that ND fans saying "since ND beat Stanford, that beating Alabama should be easy" is a rational comparison? Do you think that man-for-man, position-by-position, ND's depth chart is as good or better than Alabama's, LSU, and UGA's? I mean, this is for real shit that has been on some of their boards for a while now.
The past two bowl games, when given a month to plan, Saban has absolutely broken his foot off in the asses of the opposition. If you don't think the past two bowl games have been absolute ass rapings, I don't know what to say to you. It doesn't mean that this will be an ass raping; simply agreeing with the notion that Saban is dangerous lately when given time to plan.
-

What aTm did wasn't exactly trickery. They mainly relied on some misdirection, and Vinnie Sunseri/Nick Perry being a total dumbass. Sunseri was keying too hard and leaving his assignment anytime there was a read, or Maniziel even thought about thinking about running. I remember one play that aTm scored on, Sunseri left his man literally wiiiiide open in the back of the endzone due to misdirection on the read. Manziel threw it right over his head for a easy TD.
Again, nothing crazy. Simply some very good misdirection. Any team would use it against an aggressive defense.

Nothing like a nice quiet evening in my pjs, reading a good book by the fire, television off, secretly rooting for a giant asteroid to take out all of Miami except the part where Jarhead is.
-
From EDSBS:
It's not that we don't understand your discomfort. It's hard to shake off a lifetime of knowledge that Notre Dame is overrated, tasteless, uninspired garbage. We're not here to deny that it's the Skyline Chili of football. But Alabama is the prison food: questionably legal and only nutritious enough to keep you alive long enough to suffer a little more. So root for the Fighting Irish.
-
I predict Oregon would have had a fighting chance in this game. Bammer is to ND as Sandusky is to an 8yr old boy.

Surely you jest. Ain't happened in my lifetime and won't ever happen. If there is a way to sneak ND into the conversation, then they will be there. No matter how undeserving. The 4 team playoff would have taken them out of the picture and put someone more deserving in this game.
-
2010 Iron Bowl redux?
Unless Cam trots out of the tunnel for the 3rd quarter, it ain't happening.
I have no idea what ND's game plan was at the beginning of the game. Whatever it was, it's out the window now. I'm really confused by them trying to pick on Milliner. If I were them, I would get in Belue's head early and often. He has been a weak spot in the secondary for a while.
-

I thought this would be within two scores at the end. ND is good, albeit overrated, but it's like I said a few times before; they simply are not built like the UA, UGA, and LSUs of the world. FWIW, I think that you're looking at about the same score if UGA played ND.

LSU would beat them 21-6, aTm would win 48-24, UGA by a score of 35-17, FL probably by 13-6. ND wouldn't have even made a run at either the east or the west title in the SEC. Ole Miss and Vandy could probably sneak up on them 3 times out of 10.

You're an offensive guy, so what's your opinion? What was ND trying to do offensively in the first quarter? Why keep going after Milliner time and time again, even after getting getting lucky a few times and the ball not being intercepted? The whole plan towards the beginning of the game didn't make any sense.

What were they trying to do? No clue. Looked like their plan was one of 2 things: A. We can't run, so we'll throw them loose then try to run. OR B. We're huge dogs for a reason, and we'll fool them, they think we're going to try and run but we're gonna throw.
Brian Kelly, at one time, was considered a spread offense guy, and he's completely changed what he used to do since he's been at ND. JMO, or rather guess, he's still struggling a bit to figure out exactly what he wants to be. That may be due to personnel issues, or at least in part. He simply doesn't have the horses to bludgeon a team like bammer. They can stand toe to toe with Stanford, and slow, plodding Big 10 teams, but not a team as big as them, more physical, plus faster.

They were trying to stay in the game with a team they had no business being on the same field with in this game. Coach Kelly knew it but of course prob thought he could keep it close for a while if maybe McCarron had an off night--it could be possible. He didn't and even if he didn't hit the passes--they were gaining 5+ yds while ND stacked the box.
JR left out USCe. I feel more comfortable in them beating ND than UF or LSU. Terrible match up for the BCS natty but Tide deserved it. 4 game playoff will be more fun but I want 8.
