Cash sought for Cam Newton

Fuck

Quote
During the height of star quarterback Cameron Newton's recruitment out of junior college last year, a man saying he represented Newton allegedly was soliciting a six-figure payment to secure his signature on a national letter-of-intent, ESPN.com has learned.

Former Mississippi State quarterback John Bond told ESPN.com that a teammate of Bond's at Mississippi State in the early 1980s contacted him soon after Newton's official visit to Mississippi State during the Ole Miss game in December, and said he was representing Newton.

"He said it would take some cash to get Cam," Bond said. "I called our athletic director, Greg Byrne, and he took it from there. That was pretty much it." Multiple sources told ESPN.com that Mississippi State called the SEC office with Bond's information shortly after he brought it to the attention of the school.

Sources told ESPN.com that the former teammate is Kenny Rogers, who played at Mississippi State from 1982-85. Rogers operates a Chicago-based company called Elite Football Preparation, which holds camps in Chicago, Alabama and Mississippi. A Lexis search for that business lists Kenneth Rogers as the contact and his title as "agent." A Birmingham News story from 2008 said Elite Football Preparation "matches high school athletes with college programs."

Bond said the former teammate told him other schools had already offered $200,000, but that since Newton really liked Mississippi State and already had a relationship with head coach Dan Mullen dating to when both were at Florida, Mississippi State could get him for $180,000.

"I have no agenda other than protecting Mississippi State," Bond said. "We've done what we were supposed to do from the very beginning. Mississippi State has done nothing wrong, and I've done nothing wrong. It's been handed off to the NCAA, and it's in their hands now. I don't know what happened at Auburn. I don't know why he went to Auburn. That's not my concern. My concern is Mississippi State and making sure this doesn't cause us any trouble."

Bond said an NCAA investigator came to Mississippi to meet with him in early September, as well as with Mississippi State officials.

When interviewed by ESPN.com Thursday at the family's home in Atlanta, Cecil Newton, Cameron's father, denied any wrongdoing.

"If Rogers tried to solicit money from Mississippi State, he did it on his own, without our knowledge," Cecil Newton said.

Cecil Newton said he first met Rogers two years ago, when Cameron Newton left Florida. He said he talked to Rogers on several occasions to find out more about Mississippi State, but never met Rogers until Cameron Newton's official visit to Starkville.

Cecil Newton said the family received a letter from the NCAA "about a month ago" asking for financial statements. He said he submitted bank statements and records for the church where he is pastor, Holy Zion Center of Deliverance in Newnan, Ga., along with other records.

The church has been in the news in Coweta County, Ga., often in the past year. According to stories in The Times-Herald newspaper Cecil Newton's church was in danger of being demolished by order of the Newnan City Council in 2009 for failing to meet the city's building code. One story said Cecil Newton told the council last September that the building would be brought to code "inside of six months." After numerous delays, extensions and compromises from the council, renovation work began last spring and The Times-Herald reported last week that the church now is in compliance with Newnan's building requirements.

"If you've ever seen our church, you'd know we don't have any money," said Cameron Newton's mother, Jackie. "We have nothing."

Holy Zion Center of Deliverance is not the only church Cecil Newton is involved in overseeing. Cameron Newton told ESPN.com last month that his dad is a bishop to five churches in Georgia.

"I'm just trying to protect my son's interests, because he's fought very hard to get back where he is," Cecil Newton said. "It's a hell of a fight when people give up on you and think they'll never see you or hear from you again."

NCAA officials declined comment on the allegation involving Newton on Wednesday. "

We do not comment on current, pending or potential investigations," said Stacey Osburn, the NCAA's associate director for media and public relations.

Julie Roe Lach, the NCAA's new director of enforcement, said it is the association's policy to neither confirm nor deny an investigation.

SEC associate commissioner Greg Sankey, who oversees conference compliance, said the league received "specific information" regarding the Newton allegation in late July of this year.

"When we get information, we share it with the institution when it is involved," Sankey said.

Without specifically addressing the initial call from Mississippi State, which came several months earlier, Sankey said what the SEC originally was told about the allegation was "limited information."

"We don't deal in rumor and innuendo," Sankey said. "We deal in facts."

He said the SEC is not an investigative body, adding that it can share information with NCAA enforcement as needed. He declined to say whether the Newton allegation was shared with the NCAA.

Sankey also would not directly comment on whether the league office considers this an ongoing issue or a closed case.

"We're attentive to a variety of issues at any given time," he said. "We pay attention to a lot."

"We are comfortable that representatives of Mississippi State University's interests conducted themselves appropriately and in compliance with all NCAA by-laws," Mississippi State said in a statement to ESPN.com. "Mississippi State is committed to operating our athletics programs within the rules of the NCAA and Southeastern Conference, and we expect those affiliated with our program to continue to do the same."

Sources said Mississippi State refused to get involved with Rogers, whose association with Chicago-based agent Ian Greengross has come under scrutiny from the NFL Players Association and the NCAA.

NFLPA spokesman Carl Francis told ESPN.com on Thursday that the organization is "in the process of investigating [Greengross and Rogers] as we speak for violations of our rules and regulations."

A voice message left with Greengross by ESPN.com was not immediately returned. Attempts to reach Rogers, who also played for the Miami Dolphins during the 1987 strike, were unsuccessful. The voice mailbox at Elite Football Preparation was full Thursday.

At the time of Rogers' alleged solicitation, Mississippi State was perceived to have the inside track because of Newton's relationship with Mullen, who was the offensive coordinator at Florida when Newton was a backup to Tim Tebow. He later left Florida and went to Blinn College, a two-year school in Brenham, Texas.

After his official visit to Starkville, Newton took visits to Oklahoma on Dec. 11 and Auburn Dec. 18.

On Dec. 31, 2009, Newton publicly committed to Auburn, where this season he has led the Tigers to a 9-0 record and No. 2 ranking in the BCS standings. Along the way, Newton's dazzling running and passing have elevated him to Heisman Trophy favorite status.

"We have been made aware of the allegation. Unfortunately, we cannot comment at this time," Auburn assistant athletic director, media relations Kirk Sampson said. "However, Cam Newton is eligible to play football at Auburn."

Multiple media reports this fall have said Cameron Newton preferred going to Mississippi State, but his father preferred Auburn. According to a story in Sports Illustrated last week, Cameron Newton left the final decision to his father, who declared to the family last Dec. 23 that his son would attend Auburn.

The answer.
Auburn has known about these allegations since JULY.

We've had Newton's financials and his family's financials since SEPTEMBER.

If there was a ghost of a chance this was true, would we have played the kid?

If this is true, it makes sense.

According to Jason Caldwell at Scout, Auburn has known about this investigation for a while and has turned over their records, in addition to the financial records that were turned over by Cecil Newton.

All of this, and Cam is still eligible to play.  Even practiced today.

I'm with PCT, this has Bammer written all over it.  I say we form a lynch mob and head over to Token's house.

That was what I thought when I first read about this. Why would we have been playing him this whole time if there might be any question of his eligibility? He would have never take a snap during a game if there was anything solid that would tie the Newtons in with putting Rogers up to asking for money and even receiving money. Sounds like to me Rogers was trying to make some money without the Newtons knowing it, and going about it the way he did was pretty damn stupid and would have been hard to keep a secret. No college in their right mind these days would pay a scouting agent for a letter of intent.

What was the motivation behind the news of this being released today? And what prompted it? There must be some findings somewhere to produce a response out of nowhere for Auburn to respond to such an allegation by John Bond. Has anyone but Bond spoken?

Well, at first thought, SON OF A BITCH! While I don't think that this is anything to do with Auburn, I know that this shit will be stirring in my mind a whole lot until this thing is put to bed. I really don't think that Miss St is looking at any trouble either. It sounds to me in light of the current shit these certain agents have done, this is gonna be a case where an agent is gonna be made an example. After Bond was contacted, he got the SEC offices involved and then the NCAA. Its obvious that Miss St didn't pay since Newton didn't go there which is why the NCAA contacted Auburn to see if we did. I feel pretty comfortable that we didn't and we're in the clear since Newton was cleared to play. I'm thinking that the NCAA does have some sort of record of the attempted transaction though and they handed it over to the NFL offices. Now the NFL is investigating the issue, they will make an example of EFP. As long as we have taking care of our part of this whole mess, I don't see issue. I do think that both Auburn and Miss St officials now whats going on but can't speak of it right now.

The timing of this shit is what pisses me off, almost like it was planned this way. While I really don't think it is a bammer trap (of course I wouldn't put it past them), I do think its someone at ESPN trying to make a name for themselves. I really hope the team can maintain focus through this shit.

There were some posts on BOL last week that the NCAA was already investigating Cam's recruitment, but everybody pretty much slammed the guy and told him quit being a little bitch just because AU is doing well. Which was surprising for BOL posters, actually. ESPN is reporting the story. Whether AU has dirty hands in any of this, I wouldn't really guess on. I would hope Chizik and Co. are smarter than to get involved in any of that shit. I would bet that the NCAA will be in Auburn before this is all done and over with, though.

Not sure the quality of AUC as a source (especially with the typo), but this:

Quote
Athletic department sources said Auburn's compliance department, in conjunction with the Southeastern Converence office, looked into the accusations after being made aware of them last summer and determined there had been no wrongdoing by Cam Newton or by Auburn.

Would support the conclusion that there probably isn't anything to worry about.

The ESPN.com story quoted no other sources by name, nor did it implicate Auburn.

And this will never be acknowledged as the story runs ad nauseum the rest of the season.  The taint ($1 to KS) is there and neither Auburn nor Cam will be able to shake it.

Allegations that money was sought in exchange for Cam Newton's signature on a national letter of intent isn't affecting the Auburn quarterback's status with the Tigers.

"Cam Newton is eligible to play football at Auburn," Kirk Sampson, Assistant Athletic Director for Media Relations at Auburn, said in a statement released Thursday night.

Newton remains eligible at Auburn.
Sampson's statements came in the aftermath of an espn.com article published earlier in the day, "Cash sought for Cam Newton".

The story includes allegations by former Mississippi State quarterback John Bond that a former teammate at State solicited money for Newton's signature. Sources told espn.com the former teammate is Kenny Rogers, now listed as an "agent" at Elite Football Preparation in Chicago, Ill..

Bond said in the story Rogers claimed he could get Newton to sign with Mississippi State for $180,000.

But Rogers wasn't acting on Newton's behalf.

"If Rogers tried to solicit money from Mississippi State, he did it on his own, without our knowledge," Newton's father, Cecil Newton, told epsn.com.

Cam Newton chose Auburn over Mississippi State Dec. 31.

According to a source close to the Auburn Athletic Department with knowledge of the situation, any allegations about Auburn being involved with Rogers are erroneous.

Auburn has looked into Bond's allegations of Rogers' solicitation and there is "absolutely no evidence of any contact at all between Rogers and Auburn.

"There are no NCAA allegations against anyone on the Auburn coaching staff or anyone associated with Auburn University in the recruitment of Cam Newton," the source said.

Auburn coach Gene Chizik quickly summed up his thoughts on the allegations during his weekly radio show Thursday.

"Here's what I can say very loud and clear: Cam Newton is eligible at Auburn," Chizik said. "End of story."

It's like these people are made of blocks and stones.

This was the conversation:

"Dude, Cam.  You're the shit!" Bonds
"Yeah man.  I know.  I'm about to own college football."  Newton
"Dude, where?  Where can I watch you play?"  Bonds
"The SEC.  Who needs a QB?"  Newton
"Miss State.  Auburn.  Ole Miss.  Tennessee."  Bonds
"I like Mullen and Auburn was pretty cool."  Newton
"So which one, dawg?"  Bonds
"I don't know about the 'dawgs.'  Starkville?  Boring.  Auburn seems aight."  Newton
"Well, what will it take to get you to like Starkville?"  Bonds
"A state of the art Q-Zar.  I gotta have me some entertainment in the offseaon."  Newton
"Aight.  How much that cost?"  Bonds
"Like a hundred grand.  Maybe two."  Newton
"Aight."  Bonds

An hour later, a phone in Miss State's AD rings.

"Hello.  Miss State football program."  MSU Secretary
"Yo.  Cam wants to come, but he's gonna need a few hundred grand."

And that's how it happened.

Absolutely nothing will come out of this.  Nothing.  It's not going to hurt Auburn's team.  It's not going to hurt Cam's chance at the Heisman.  It's a non-issue.

With that said, I hope a few of the internet morons who bought 200% into the red dog bullshit over the last 2 years are enjoying the taste of their own medicine.

This is completely different and you know it.

This is on ESPN.  This will be recalled with every single Auburn highlight.  This will be discussed on Gameday.  This will be taken into account in the Heisman voting.  "Want another Reggie Bush winner?"  This will be a distraction for the team.  This will probably be shouted from mountain tops the week of the Iron Bowl.

Alabama's rumors never made it to ESPN.  Also, the "Red Dog" bullshit you're talking about was a joke started by Bama fans on the Rivals message board.  It just got picked up by a dumbass on the Bunker.

Lawyers, jump in here...

But it seems like Newton could sue Rogers for mis-representation and/or fraud, almost like identity theft, and ask for damages due to the negative effect on his name and reputation.

Also sounds like Bonds did nothing wrong - Rogers is the sole guilty party.

And fuck NYT and ESPN for spinning the story the way they did - but I agree with wes - this is a non-story.

Rogers obviously limited his contact to Miss State, and Auburn is in the clear, regardless of how those fuckers spin it.

The angle should be a rogue agent trying to cash in on Newton's name and talent.

The only thing different is someone actually did contact the NCAA about the issue instead of starting 800 rumors on AUC.

I'm telling you.  Less than a week and the only people talking about this will be the Bama fans on the internet.  The locals will run it for a few days.  Finebaum will run it until the next big story.  ESPN will barely touch it and it will be a non story.

Auburn wins out and they are in the BCS.  Newton continues without a glitch and wins the Heisman.

Non-issue.

There was no national media story.  Because it was all bullshit.  This ONLY reason this is in the national media is because someone allegedly did contact MSU about cash for play.  There have been bullshit rumors on BOL for the last 6 months regarding Auburn paying Cam.  None of it made the media, because it had no merit.

Auburn paying Cam still doesn't have any merit.  They story is MSU and Cam, not Aub and Cam.  Will some try to slant it towards Auburn?  They already have, but it won't stick.

Interesting ties between Thamel and Meyer:

Quote
Something Stinks In Pahokee
New York Times sports reporter Pete Thamel ”broke” the story of the NCAA’s investigation into Tennessee’s football recruiting practices. After inititial investigation into his story, there seems to be a stink arising from little Pahokee, Fla., which drifts over to Gainesville and all the way north to a couple of offices in mid-town Manhattan.

 The Players -

Pete Thamel – College sports reporter for the New York Times
Connor Ennis – Sports department staff editor, New York Times
Chris Dunkley – Pahokee football prospect being recruited by Tennessee and Florida
Ariel Alejo - Pahokee principal, Florida Alum, Gators fan
Urban Meyer – Head coach, University of Florida
Lets start with a flashback to 1998. In the first game of Tennessee’s national championship run, the Vols narrowly defeated the Donovan McNabb led Syracuse Orangemen. A Tennessee loss looked eminent until a fourth down pass interference call allowed the Vols to move within range for a last second field goal for the win. The pass interference call led to a fervent outcry of SEC referee bias by the Syracuse area media. Conner Enis and Pete Thamel were both Syracuse students and writing for the Syracuse Post Standard and The Daily Orange at the time. Getting Interesting?

Thamel was at the forefront of reports on the recruitment of Bryce Brown, the heralded running back who eventually committed to Tennessee and was seen as a major coup for young head coach Lane Kiffin. It was a surprise when Brown was briefly declared ineligible by the NCAA roughly two weeks before the season began so they could investigate some reports they had gotten. Brown was eventually cleared to play. Pete Thamel has also witten so many gushing stories about the Florida Gators and Tim Tebow that it led one Gators blogger to refer to him as the “program’s most talented chronicler.” After Thamel’s prediction of a Gator blowout over Tennessee in this year’s contest didn’t come to fruition, he met with Meyer in his campus office the following morning. Here is the resulting article which blamed the lack of a blowout on the Flu and “Tennessee’s apparent lack of interest in actually winning the game” One thing is clear..Pete Thamel and Urban Meyer have a relationship.

The NYT article states that the NCAA has interviewed a handful of recruits regarding the investigation. The most interesting is Chris Dunkley. While the other players and/or their families were willing to talk about what they discussed with the NCAA and were generally complimentary of Tennesse, Dunkley refused to discuss what he told the investigators. Dunkley happens to play for Pahokee High School. The same school whose principal, Ariel Alejo, tried to ban Tennessee coaches from recruiting his student-athletes. This was after Tennessee Coach Lane Kiffin made statements to the press that he didn’t trust the way things were done in Pahokee regarding the recruiting process, insinuating  that they tried to steer players towards Florida. Of note: Ariel Alejo is a Florida Alum that has a good relationship with Urban Meyer and is known to be a huge Gators’ fan.

Urban Meyer. With the verbal jabbing back and forth between Gainesville and Knoxville since Lane Kiffin was hired at Tennessee, it is apparent that the cocky Tennessee coach has gotten under his skin. It is also apparent that the Vols have been raiding the state of Florida of some of its best football prospects which had until lately been almost guaranteed locks for the Gators. Meyer has friends in the administration at Pahokee. He also has a more tight than common relationship with an investigative sports journalist at the New York Times. Motive and Means?

In an ominous sign of things to shortly come, and a possible inside joke between the two, Pete Thamel wrote this of Meyer just a week ago – “The most memorable moment from the news conference may have been when Meyer was asked about Tennessee Coach Lane Kiffin’s assertion that Alabama is the better-coached team. Meyer smiled big and said, ‘No comment.’“

I don't care how paranoid it looks, how it makes me look like I need a tin foil hat.  Bammers are behind the RELEASE of this and it's timing.  Everybody involved has known about this since this summer, at the latest, and maybe earlier.  This was sat on by the Alabama media, then released to the national media to make it look like it's them running with it.  Actually a great strategy on the part of the local boys, Finebaum et al.  As I said before, had there been any hint of smoke in Auburn, let alone fire, nobody would have waited to see what Cam did on the field, they would have tried to submarine this season in August, and the Auburn program and Chizik for a long time, and they would have done it then, not now.  NOBODY thought Cam or Auburn would be this good.  THAT'S why it's even being released at all.  If Auburn were 6-3, and Cam just another QB, we'd not be hearing this bullshit.

I normally agree with most of your opinions, but I can't with this.  Cam is a damn good football player.  Much better than I thought he was capable of being.  I absolutely want Cam to play against Alabama.  I think Alabama is good enough to beat Auburn WITH Cam, why in the hell would I want to hear "Bama only won because Cam was out"?  Auburn has a damn good team, led by the best player in college football this year.  BUT, Auburn struggled at times against MSU and Kentucky on the road, in semi-hostile environments.  Now I'd agree that Auburn is a different team now than they were against MSU, but Kentucky was only a few weeks ago.  And neither situation was anywhere near what Auburn will face in Tuscaloosa.  So yeah, I want to see Auburn ranked #1 with Cam on Black Friday.  And although I'm certain there is a % of Bama fans who'd like to see him suspended, there are more than a few of us who want to see him play.

Herbie thought you would win the west and the SEC.

But thought Alabama would win the MNC.  Just sayin'.

Because if you guys think that you can beat Auburn with Cam, what do you think the odds are without him? If Auburn is the only thing between Alabama and another national championship, you don't want every edge? Bullshit. I am not buying this.

I don't give a rat's ass about Alabama, but I have posted here that I would take any break in the world to win a national championship, including Alabama needing to find players off the intramural field because the team has mono. So, If Alabama can play for the national championship, but to do that, you have to play Auburn with Cam, or Auburn without Cam, you would choose with? Bullshit.

^^^he knows teh bammers.

Facts are (as I proof is needed), bammers, a goodly number, would love to see ANY team potentially in their way not only beaten on the field, but put on probation, stripped of scholarships, bowl bans, the whole works.  Many a bammer remembers when it was Bammer, UT, and the rest of the SEC for the most part, and they liked it that way.

Bammers love championships, but hate competition.

I despise even having to talk about this shit.  It makes me sick to my stomach to have the focus taken off what to date, has been a dream season.  Honestly, they don't come around that often at AU and no matter how it will/would have/could have turned out, this would have been one for the ages.

It's like every time Cam or this team has done something great, I keep telling myself this is too good to be true.  Well fuck it.  Someone's gone and said yep, it was too good to be true.  I'm gonna' just whip it out and piss aaaalllll in your corn flakes.  AU may win out.  A lot of good stuff can still happen but this story is going to be THE story for weeks to come.

And yeah, I get it what WE said amounts to the same thing...difference is, Auburn wasn't on a national smear campaign against Bammer or their star player last year.

Hey, I am just trying to say the sky is not falling. Cam will be fine allbarn will be fine and I do believe Alabama would beat allbarn with Cam. Being a competitor I want to beat the best. Beating a team without their best player is an empty win. A win, yes, but you did not beat the best. Plus I do not want to hear, "we would have won if Cam had played." Win, lose or draw I want allbarn full strength.

The problem is NH that we all know Auburn and Cam will be fine.  None of us think that the sky is falling.  However sufficed to what some people believe, Auburn truly is a family and when you burn our university and one of our players, it pisses us off.

This is a witch hunt, pure and simple!

This. It literally makes me sick to my stomach. Imagine if you are Cam Newton. What if you didn't do anything wrong. What if you got your second chance and have worked your ass off to get to where you are now. Cam Newton is a house hold fucking name. And now, it is being dragged in the mud. Because of ONE guy.

It may sound gay, but all I can think about is that big ass smile that Cam has, and the fun it looked like he has had at the university that I love. Is he still going to be smiling? Has a little part of him died? I know that I would be going fucking nuts having these people that don't even know me defile my name. I hope Cam is a bigger man than me. I hope is can look at this and laugh. I want to see him keep smiling. Not a fake smile, but the smile that I loved seeing. The smile like, wow, this shit is so awesome. Because that's how I smile every time I watch Auburn football. That is the smile that I have every time I see a tiger walk. That is the smile that I have every time I hear the Auburn fight song. That is the smile that I have every time I see the "Auburn City Limits" sign again. And for that reason, we have a bond. And because of that,  I am fucking pissed...

i love you, W.

Here's what I want.  Fuck the NCAA and the lawyers and the cloak of secrecy.  I want Cam Newton at a table full of microphones, standing tall, and giving a statement in no uncertain terms that this is pure and unadulterated bullshit, and fuck anyone who says different.  I want a VERY ANGRY Cam Newton telling the entire nation of asshole sportswriters to fuck themselves running.  And then I want him to absolutely fucking destroy every team remaining on our schedule and then DARE the national media to give that Heisman to someone else.  I want the rest of our team to take Cam on their backs like he has done for them all year, and win out for Cam.  The players and the coaches and the Auburn family have his back - we know the truth.  FUCK THEM ALL.

IThat goes both ways.  Maybe it hasn't been on a national scale, but Alabama hasn't signed one top recruiting class under Saban where some Auburn fans somewhere wasn't spreading bullshit rumors about Bama cheating.

And there in lies a difference as big as all outdoors.

Sure some Auburn folks will claim "They're cheating" when you sign a nice class, but Finebaum and the bammer controlled media will seek to DESTROY Auburn, one of it's players, and his family for even trying to compete.

Fuck that. After hearing some AU fans get on the "Bama wouldn't have won the NC if Colt was playing!" bandwagon after that game, I want Cam Newton to be on some fucking steroids when the Iron Bowl comes around. It's like I said in a thread a few weeks ago, is a little healthy competition just THAT difficult for people to deal with? Do I want us to beat AU by 100 points? Yes. Do I want us to do it every time we play? Yes. I want us to play in the NC game again this year, sure, but if AU wins they win. At least we lost to a pretty good team. I would actually be less pissed about losing to AU than I was about losing to USCe.

I actually agree with you here.  It was fun to make a crack here and there about boat trips, laptops etc. but honestly, the whole Chargers, remodeling mom's kitchen shit got old in a hurry and I'd MUCH rather talk football than smoking guns and off the field issues.  There are always going to be Auburn fans that take every opportunity to talk shit and/or try and get the goods on Bama.  It goes on at every school.  However, I just don't get the enormity of this situation and why every single time any issue arises that remotely involves Auburn, it goes viral in a matter of hours.  This shit is coast to coast and the number one headline on every sports media outlet.  Headed to the gym this morning.  5:00 a.m. and the first thing I heard on Sporting News Radio..."TROUBLE AT AUBURN". Really?

You can't be "cleared" on something like this.  You can't prove a negative.  The only thing that can happen is that they can't prove it did happen.  Which, in many folk's eyes, means "Auburn and Cam did it, they just couldn't find proof."

I'm one of the few aubies that said bama would have won with or without colt in the game. They looked like  a more complete team....Texas fans need to shutup already because they have proven this year they weren't about shit.

Colt was on track to throw for 517 yards and 8 scores...and run for 3 more.  They also had plans to play him at linebacker if Bama hadn't taken such a dirty underhanded cheap shot on him to get him out of the game.  Fucking Bammers!!!!
