Appalachian St. 4, Auburn 2: In Auburn, a day after overwhelming Appalachian State 17-0, Auburn stranded 11 baserunners and lost to the Mountaineers at Plainsman Park.

The loss ended a seven-game Auburn winning streak.

Starter Anthony Edens went five innings, gave up both Auburn runs and got the win. Closer Garrett Sherrill struck out Trent Mummey, Mike Bianucci and Josh Sanders in the ninth. He gave up a single to former Grissom standout Hunter Morris.

Sanders had three hits and Morris two to lead Auburn on offense.

Taylor Thompson took the loss (1-2), allowing all four runs in 11/3 innings. Bradley Hendrix, Michael Hurt, Evan Crawford and Bryan Woodall shut the Mountaineers down over the last 52/3 innings.

...and we really do need to split this forum.

Maybe even into three. Leave this one, and add a baseball & basketball one.

I agree about splitting the forum.

And this was their first loss since the FSU series. They have been playing decent against lesser competition. We open up the SEC schedule this week down in UF so maybe we can get a series win down there. If we get swept, I am going to be pissed...
