A month or so ago he named Auburn and Michigan as his leaders with SPuat a distant third. Fast forward his recruitment about two weeks and there was a little change in his leaders, Michigan stayed and SPuat jumped to being neck and neck for 1st, with Auburn falling quickly. Fast forward to today, Dee Hart is now saying that he and Auburn are back on the same page. Dee stated that he received information from a writer that Auburn had already gotten commitments from one or two RBs, therefore a change was made to his leaders. But, now that Dee Hart has the correct information, Auburn is back in it for him.
Hmmmm.....looks like a writer that covers "a certain University" led Dee into believing false information. I wonder if Chris Jones received that same type "information" from the same writer.
-
What worries me more, is why is he taking the word of a writer, and not contacting the coaching staff directly to find out what the status is? Maybe he did now, and that's why he's feeling better about it?

The "writer" probably told him that the Auburn coaching staff would lie to him, just like they have been, because they have one or two RB commitments already.....Dee probably had someone close to him, tell him that "hey, Auburn doesn't have any RB commitments." And that caused him to call the coaches. Or something like that.

Or Cam Newton and Yox made him change his mind.

OR, could it be that Chris Jones is an Alabama fan since childhood and didn't previously have an offer from Alabama? So when Alabama offered, obviously that would make them a contender? If you haven't noticed, our crootin class isn't exactly hurting. There are a few bigtime names we will land as well. For that matter, the back Alabama will be taking this class will more than likely be Isaiah Crowell. I would imagine Hart will end up at Michigan.
There always has to be some sort of conspiracy theory with you. Why can't it be that maybe a kid likes Alabama or Auburn more than the other? We're talking about a bunch of 17 year olds that change their minds at the drop of a hat. Spencer Region being the best example. Oh, wait.....didn't he say the reason he was upset with Alabama was because of a misunderstanding? Hmmmmmmm........that damn Jeffrey Lee. :taunt:
Anyway, where is the link to the story where Hart says he was misled, misinformed, or whatever?

Kids always are dying to play at Alabama over Auburn with you. Why can't it be as the fucking kid said himself that he was lied to by the bammer media?

B/c that would mean a kid might not want to play for bammer, and we know that they will get whoever they want no matter who they are and no matter where they are from.
-
:throw: <------RWS everytime he reads a Prowler post.
The stupidity is simply mind numbing. He's like one of our fans when they can't get over a recruit just might like someplace else better. Alabama just isn't the place for everybody. Another school just might be better for them. They might like the other school better, or they think it gives them a better opportunity. We can't sign every single talented recruit. It's no different at AU. I don't know why that is so difficult to grasp. If a recruit isn't considering AU, or has cooled on AU, it's because Alabama did something dirty, or AU doesn't want him. That's always the party line Prowler totes.
Hart is looking for early playing time. He probably won't get it at Alabama. Depending on how good Dyer turns out to be (which I think he will be VERY good), PT isn't looking all that great at AU either, but certainly more favorable than at Alabama. However, he could probably start from day 1 at Michigan. He fits in better with AU's or Michigan's spread also, and I'm sure he knows this. I think the kid ends up at Michigan.

So, he flat out says "I was lied to by an Alabama writer"?

It's premium content on Rivals.
I have a Rivals account, so I will be able to see the content. Where is the link?
I just watched a video of an interview a few days ago at Gridiron Kings:
http://flavarsity.rivals.com/content.asp?SID=957&CID=1107355 (http://flavarsity.rivals.com/content.asp?SID=957&CID=1107355)
He says he is considering Michigan and Alabama the most because of the type of programs, and the family atmosphere at both places. Doesn't say anything about misinformation, didn't say anything negative about Auburn just that he was considering them at one point. It sounds like he's all Michigan.
-
So, he flat out says "I was lied to by an Alabama writer"?
He said earlier this week that me might feel like Auburn has a commitment or two behind the scenes. Apparently he talked to our coaches and that is not the case. He didn't say Alabama writer, but he did say a writer lied to him about it, yes. So either he is lying to our writers or telling the truth. Which is it?

You have access, Ogre provided you a link, you do some leg work.
It is a Bunker-type story, so apparently I have to specifically have an AU Rivals account. However, somebody that does did say it wasn't even a quote from him, just the AU writer saying "this is what happened". If anything, it would make more sense for a Michigan writer to put something in the kid's head. I really don't think Alabama is all that much competition, as he seems to want to play in a spread like Michigan and AU has. I don't buy the story period, but if it were to happen, that would seem more likely. I'm sure Alabama wants him, I just don't see where it is all that mutual, even though he names us as one of his favorites.
Again, the kid winds up at Michigan. He has taken several unofficials up there, seems very high on them and their staff, and he's been claiming since this time last year that Michigan was his favorite. I just don't see that changing.
-
Dee probably said "writer" to cover for his boy Hasaan, who was probably fed misinformation by the SPuat staff. Even if Coach little bitch doesn't need some stud prospects or doesn't have room for them, he sure as hell doesn't want Auburn to land them. "Here's a bag of cash....don't commit or sign with Auburn, it'd be a nice jester if you'd drop them completely off your list. No, we don't have room unless you want to greyshirt or walk-on, just don't go to Auburn."
-
Let me guess, no quotes from Hart, just AU writers saying "this is the deal...."?
Not to open up another can of worms...but here you go.
Recently though, reports surfaced that quoted Hart as saying Alabama and Michigan were now his top two, and that Auburn had fallen down his list. The reason he gave for dropping Auburn he said, was that they already had running backs committed for the 2011 recruiting class.
Auburn currently has zero running backs committed for the current recruiting class.
Hart says he was misinformed by a writer for another school, and has since cleared it up with the Auburn coaches. He even plans to make a visit to Auburn with his uncle before his senior season starts.
"It got worked out," Hart said. "I talked to the coaches, and I'll be there August 28th, then I'll be back for an official visit. They were just saying they didn't have any backs committed, and they really want me to back and visit, so I'll go up there and see what they have."
-
Not to open up another can of worms...but here you go.
I guess I'm just missing the part where an Alabama writer pulled something with him.

Dude. You are stubborn.
Ok, let's play Saban's advocate here.
Best-case scenario, there's a 50% chance it was an Alabama writer who led him astray. And do you really believe that a Michigan beat writer would be more prone to pull some shit like that in an attempt to snag away a recruit from Auburn than a bammer one? Is there a direct in-state head-to-head recruiting battle between us and Michigan that I don't know about?

Do you really expect an honest answer here? My guess is no, dressed up in a "I personally don't care" type statement. That's his new thing. Defend to the death while all the while claiming it doesn't really matter to him.

Here's a tweet from Justin Hokanson, the guy who penned the most recent article on Dee Hart:
For the record, Hart said, "an Alabama site" misinformed him about Auburn's recruiting class. His quote, not mine.

I highly doubt Alabama is that much of a seious player for him. Like I said before, kid is headed to Michigan. And imagine that, it is exactly as I said before. An AU Rivals writer saying "Hey, this kid told me....."
I'll remember next time you guys claim a BOL writer is full of it about something a kid says.

is Shane Youngblood from Centerpoint by any chance?
Coach belittle: "I think the NCAA should look into these recruiting websites and the reporters doing the recruiting for the Universities that they're covering." - Remember that bullshit? Yeah, like I said then and I'll say now, Coach belittle really doesn't want the NCAA to go down that rabbit hole.

Shane from BOL sez he was too busy telling Malcolm Brown Texas runs a spread offense and telling Isaiah Crowell UA is going to feel like "family" once he gets to Tuscaloosa. Sorry. These are not the droids you're looking for.

I think the NCAA should look into these "writers".....maybe let Yahoo Sports do the digging for them, since they carry a backhoe, while the NCAA carries a garden shovel.

It wasn't an AU Rivals writer douche nozzle. Why would Hoke say that in a public forum, when it could be so easily verified from Hart himself?
I hear ya though....you don't really care....or something like that.

I'll take Auburn's chances against Meeeechigan. With Dee Hart and with the #2 Ath, Kris Frost.
as for the "next time you guys claim a bOL writer is full of SHIT about something a kid says"......it's called integrity, something that's lacking in SPuat's "recruiters/writers" department. People can smell SPuat's lack of integrity from a mile a way and when we do, we usually call y'all on it.

Justin Hokanson is a writer for AuburnSports.com. Easy, like easy enough for Hart to know AU doesn't have any RB commitments? I mean, I can easily look that up. I guess he couldn't.
-
rws, you forgot to add his entire response....
"I was too busy telling Malcolm Brown Texas runs a spread offense and telling Isaiah Crowell UA is going to feel like "family" once he gets to Tuscaloosa.
Listen, there is always going to be a lunatic fringe - if you took my name out and inserted you, the mailman or any random dude on the street into this job, rival fans are going to target you.
Hart is a smart kid. He doesn't need a writer telling him depth charts to know who a school has committed. Maybe a writer did tell him that, who knows. I doubt anything a yokel he has ever met influenced him to drop AU or any other school with depth chart musings."
read....shane "from Centerpoint" Youngblood never denied lying to Dee Hart...he did the famous "bammer two-step". Also, he's admitting to recruiting for SPuat at the beginning of his sarcastic reply. A simple, no I didn't tell Mr. Hart anything about any school in trying to recruit him to bama, would've sufficed. But yet, he had to be sarcastic enough about it to where he's actually telling on himself. Did shane learn his communication skills from Coach Kiffin and Coach BeLittle?
-
I'll remember next time you guys claim a BOL writer is full of it about something a kid says.
First of all, the fact that you're even making an attempt to equate Justin Hokanson with Shane from Centerpoint explains in full why this smiley was created --> :bamahomer:
We're not talking Charles from Reeltown here...
Easy, like easy enough for Hart to know AU doesn't have any RB commitments? I mean, I can easily look that up. I guess he couldn't.
I'm getting dizzy from all the spinning and grasping at straws.
You know full well that the "alleged" (for RWS's sake) incident involves him being told that there was a silent RB commitment.

Side note from the discussion; does anyone not think that the rumblings at Michigan about HC Rod being ousted after this year will play a part in Harts decision? I do.
-
It should. If I was his dad I would talk to him about fo show.

Touche'. I took Prowler's post literally.
shane "from Centerpoint" Youngblood
I didn't think it was beyond the realm of possibilities as I know he considers himself a legitimate columnist.
And this quote:

Seriously, his dad needs to whip his ass for even thinking about going to Michigan.
-
The difference in my sarcastic remarks/replys and with shithead from Centerpoint's is that I'm a message board blogger....shithead is a paid writer for a well known recruiting website. I don't wear Orange and Blue glasses when ranking Auburn's players, shithead from Centerpoint wears his crimpson and white glasses at all times...even while speaking to prospects.

Just as a little update.....
http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/recruiting/os-recruiting-dee-hart-drops-auburn-arkansas-1004,0,2767440.story
Orlando Dr. Phillips running back Dee Hart has eiliminated Auburn and Arkansas from his list of college choices, and so he will choose between Michigan and Alabama on Friday.
"I've pretty much decided it's between Michigan and Alabama. I'll be coming up on a decision here Friday," Hart said Monday after practice. "I had a great visit to Alabama, talked to the coaches. I was with my boy HaHa (best friend and teammate Ha'sean Clinton Dix) Â… we had fun. It was crazy. Nothing like that atmosphere in the SEC. That was a great football game. Florida had a good game, but Alabama's just the better team."
I still think he goes to Meeeechigan.

If bama wants him....they'll get him. They're the front runner for Isiah Crowell, I'm not sure they take a speed back, similar to Corey Grant too. Is Dee Hart any kin to Mike Hart?

He has always been extremely high on Michigan, and he is used to playing in a system similar to what they run. I would be pretty happy if he picked Bama, but I'm just not seeing it.
In all of my previous posts, I've said I think he goes to Michigan. It's not like I'm trying to do the Prowler victory dance if he picks Bama.

According to Jeffrey Lee on Rivals, Dee Hart's recruitment may not be over after all. He went on to say that he thinks he may make the switch from Michigan to the good guys sooner rather than later.

Unpossible.
How does a school that is obviously on a downward spiral with a lame duck coach and a surging rival convince a high quality recruit to commit to their school?
I bet an agent is involved....

That's not what Jeffrey Lee said. And he doesn't lie about things, like other Rivals writers. Right Prowler?
-
After he saw how over rated Ingram and Richardson are during the Iron Bowl, I am sure that he knows he can come early and play...
I could go with you on Ingram, but Richardson had missed the previous 2 games due to a bad ankle and wasn't exactly 100% in the IB either. Ingram had around 120 all-purpose yards, so I think he did about what they expected him to do. Well, minus the fumble into the end zone. I still think Richardson is probably the better back, though. Just by looking at Hart's highlights, he resembles Richardson alot.
Something else to think about: I doubt Ingram leaves this season. If he had another season like last year, then sure. But no way he goes in the first round this year. I still think he is slowed down somewhat by his knee surgery earlier in the season. As long as Richardson stays healthy next season, he will probably go early. Our OL wasn't as good this year as it was last year. Improvement next year should help Richardson's case to leave early. That's going to open alot of doors for Hart/Crowell?/Lacy.
-
Ingram is a first rounder. One of the first backs taken. Matters little what kind of year he had this year. The NFL scouts know he's a freak and how he would fare in the pro game.

No, he didn't. Skreets fail.
His teammate Hasean Clinton-Dix texted Youngblood and told him Dee Hart was de-committing from Meeechigan and was committing to UA after his high school game the next day, per Hart. That's how they originally put it out there. Apparently, according to HCD, Hart changed his mind and just sounds generally confused at this point. Whether he ends up at UM, UA, UF, or AU, dude is going to be a stud.

Yeah, that's what the Orlando Sentinal is reporting. No telling where he will end up at this point, as he seems to be all over. He's a kid that has basically every option available, and seems to be having a problem deciding exactly what he wants. No different than alot of other kids in recruiting, I suppose.

Finally, a video interview from Dee Hart himself regarding his commitment status
http://rivals.yahoo.com/video/recruiting-football/army-dee-hart-986779?NICK_NAME=fuller31&LEVEL=2&TIME=1294003074&SIG=3e3665b34bfc92ede7e148e7e6c183bd
Cliff notes, his own words:
Will not be committed to Meeeechigan by the end of the day. When asked about his flirtation with Alabama, he replied "Roll Tide". When asked directly "So, you're going to de-commit from Michigan and commit to Alabama?" he answers "true". When the Rivals guy mentions him playing with Ha-Ha, Hart says "Me and my boy Ha-Ha....roll tide." Said he wanted to give things time and see how Michigan would do. Says Alabama coaches already know he is committing, and he was recruited by Alabama as a RB and kick returner. Gave 5 or 6 "roll tides" during the interview. Says he wants that 5th star and plans on going out and earning it.
Dude is a damn good player, but honestly, I question his maturity a little bit. Glad to have him on board if all of this pans out, but I'm not so sure the kid doesn't have issues. He's a December graduate, so he has a brain between his ears. Hope he develops well.

It doesn't hurt to have his HS's Athletic Department upgraded, paid for by SPuat. Hope he likes being a DB.

Some modifications had to be made to the locker room to accomodate the team and equipment. This isn't uncommon for a larger program when it has to practice at a high school stadium, and you know it. That just happens to be the stadium Alabama was assigned to. But please, let us know when the packet on this gets to the NCAA.

Is Alabama the FIRST and ONLY school to utilize that HS for practice in this particular bowl? I'm just aksing? Curious why it either was, or wasn't good enough for other teams.

Dr. Phillips is normally used for the SEC teams that go to the Capital One Bowl. The bowl itself pays for things like cleaning the locker room, minor modifications, etc. They have a standard thing that they do. They also pay the school for use of the facilities and field. The bowl also paid to have some dirt and grass put in, because UA is having to practice on an old soccer field, which usually isn't used for the bowl practices every year. The only thing UA paid for was having temporary shower facilities installed for a week, and those were removed at the end of the week.

Yes.....Dr. Phillips is pretty big and known. Makes sense. Sorry to say but it really is a coincidence here on this being the kid's school. Non-issue to me.

Locker Room, Weight Room, Practice Field...maybe throw in a few meeting rooms. Making sure Hasean and Hart approve of all of it, maybe have them throw in a few idears.

I think this is one of those places, where if you have something, to put it here quickly. I haven't heard WHAT type of upgrades, or facilities Bama provided, or whatever...
If it's just temporary showers, then I'd have a hard time having an issue with it.

Seriously? I posted a link from a credible news source, chock full of quotes from the guy that heads the Florida Citrus Bowl himself saying "We're paying for all this stuff, because it is the same thing other college teams have requested when practicing here. UA is paying for showers for the week.", and I'm talking out my ass? The SBB page basically claims the same modifications I'm talking about; doesn't say anything about weight room, conference rooms, etc. They're just saying Alabama is paying for it. Go ahead and believe SBB if you want, and keep up that crusade for your little brother Prowler. For fucks sake, even Prowler himself admits SBB isn't a credible site. Of course, he wouldn't have had Token not brought up a previous thread.

I thought the coaches attitude was classic... I know. I know. It's not the Tuscaloosa News... Just a TV station in Orlando...where it happens...talking to a very excited coach....

Nobody is denying that things are being done at no cost to the school. The link I posted directly calls out the video you just posted.
Orlando television station WFTV reported Tuesday that UA will pay the school $50 an hour to use the practice facility and is also spending more money to upgrade the practice fields and locker room. UA and bowl sources said reports of the locker room being repainted and new carpet installed are untrue, and that the bowl is paying for the preparations of the practice facilities.
John Magrino, athletics director at Dr. Phillips High School, said the entire episode is standard procedure for bowl week and has been overblown.
“The only thing being done at our school is rye grass seeding and top dressing of the field to fill any holes, which is standard practice when the (Florida Citrus) Bowl Committee rents any facility,†the athletics director said by e-mail. “Nothing is being done in the locker rooms. We did vacuum them, though ... maybe that will be breaking news.â€
The field improvements are not a major landscaping undertaking, said Steve Hogan, chief executive officer of Florida Citrus Sports, the bowl host.
“You're basically putting sand and peat down on certain areas of the field,†Hogan said.
That Alabama is practicing at Dr. Phillips High — home to Hasean Clinton-Dix, who is rated as the No. 1 safety in the country by Rivals.com and who committed to UA back in April, and Dee Hart, who is ranked as the nation's No. 1 all-purpose back and who has been reported to be wavering on his commitment to Michigan — has nothing to do with recruiting. LSU, the Southeastern Conference representative at the Capital One Bowl a year ago, also practiced at the school.
Capital One Bowl spokesman Greg Crease said Dr. Phillips High “is the field the SEC traditionally gets,†and noted that UA's field upgrade “isn't too much different than any other year.â€
Said Hogan, “Alabama's practicing at a site that we've been using for years for our college teams, and they're assigned to that site.
“We as a bowl oversee those fields for the SEC and Big Ten teams. We make sure the fields are in as pristine a condition as they can be for them to practice.â€
The site fee for use of the school's facilities is paid by the bowl, not by UA.
“It doesn't matter what the number is at either practice site,†Hogan said, “the bowl pays for it. It's all the bowl's responsibility. The only thing the team ever pays for is over and above what the field is that they need.â€
Hogan said the only thing Alabama is doing above what the bowl normally provides is having temporary shower facilities installed for the week. UA will be charged for the rental fee, and the showers will be removed after the bowl week.
“In no way have we been asked to do anything that any other school hasn't done at one time or another to improve the practice facility,†Hogan said. “There's not anything that could be left behind or improve the school in any shape or form other than to have a successful practice. It's simply a one-week practice thing to use while the team is there.â€
And it makes perfect sense that the bowl pays the school to use the facilities. Why would a bowl invite a team down to play, then tell them they are going to have to pay for a place to practice, etc? Bottom line, the report you posted was incorrect, Chop. The coach himself never said anything about Alabama paying for squat. The story I posted had direct quotes from the AD at Dr. Phillips and the executive officer of Florida Citrus Sports (who hosts the bowl) saying that the bowl is paying for everything except the showers.

Renting a larger SUV from a rent-a-car place for a week would run you close to a thousand dollars. Is it that far fetched to think that renting multiple portable shower trailers for a week might run you a few thousand dollars?

I gotcha. It is clear though, that not everything AU fans are saying came from a rumor, or JUST SBB. If nothing happened? Then dandy.
