They're still shitty.
Fuck da braves in da mouf...

Apparently, there's still some Cubbies fans that have pussies that are still aching from the ass whuppin that was administered to their team on Monday night.

Indeed, I halfway passed out and awoke right at the 8th inning. How about Wagner closing out? Jesus Christ that was impressive.
His intro is bad ass. It is Kurt Russell from Tombstone from the "You tell 'em I'm coming! And hell's coming with me!" Then Enter Sandman starts playing and he comes walking out of the bullpen. I may have been slightly intoxicated but I went apeshit.Haha, Were you screaming like a girl? You should have been.
Haha, Were you screaming like a girl? You should have been.
Yes, yes I was. That, sir, is awesome.
Only 1.5 back with a week long home stand ahead including three with the Phillies.
Anybody going tomorrow?
The long road swing for the Braves coming up is going to be tough. It would be nice to come off a sweep then have the Padres come in to Philly and take kick some ass.
Braves sweep the Phillies and extend the winning streak to 8. Lowe didn't pitch a great game, but he was able to get out of a lot of trouble with ground ball pitches and stayed in long enough to get the victory. The sweep against the Phillies was a great way to end the homestand.
Off to the west coast, and Go Braves!!!!

I consider 8 IP and 1 ER a damn good start. He seemed to have pretty good control all day today.

Fun time today...last minute tickets. Here was our view.

Wow were those SunTrust seats...or Henry Aaron Seats? Either way, pretty awesome. I want to sit in the SunTrust section at least once at some point.

So, you took a pic of a Philly fan digging at his ass?
Man, you're sick.
And that Philly fan was missing some teeth. At first glance, I though he was wearing some cheap off-colored Bama hat. Boy was I glad to see the Phillie "P" on it.
I never heard a number but the lower levels were pretty full and there were some folks in the upper levels as well.
FYI...the 755 Club is teh awesome as well. That was my first trip up there.
Braves get Gonzalez; Escobar to Jays
The second half hasn't begun yet, but the Atlanta Braves made a trade Wednesday to try to stay atop their NL East perch.
The Braves acquired shortstop Alex Gonzalez, who has 17 home runs at the All-Star break, on Wednesday in a five-player trade with the Toronto Blue Jays.
Gonzalez
Atlanta sent shortstop Yunel Escobar and left-handed pitcher Jo-Jo Reyes to Toronto and received Gonzalez and two minor leaguers (shortstop Tyler Pastornicky and pitcher Tim Collins).
"This trade improves our club for the second half of the season," Braves general manager Frank Wren said in a statement. "We have been looking at ways to strengthen our club offensively and Alex Gonzalez is a proven veteran player who gives us added power. He is a winner and a solid offensive presence in the lineup as well as a quality defensive shortstop."
The Braves currently hold a four-game lead over the second-place New York Mets. The two-time defending NL champion Philadelphia Phillies are in third place, 4½ games behind Atlanta.
Gonzalez, 33, is batting .259 and had 50 RBIs for the Blue Jays. His 43 extra-base hits at the break were tied for fifth-most in the American League.
In 12 major league seasons, Gonzalez has 131 home runs. He is a career .248 hitter.
The 27-year-old Escobar is a career .291 hitter but is struggling this season with a .238 average. Last season, he hit .299 in 141 games, achieving career bests in home runs (14) and RBIs (76).
Reyes, 25, appeared in just one game for the Braves this season. In 41 career appearances (37 starts) he is 5-15 with a 6.40 ERA.
Pastornicky, 20, has a .258 average, six home runs and 35 RBIs for the Jays' Class-A Dunedin club this season. Collins, also 20, has a 2.51 ERA in 35 appearances for Toronto's Double-A team in New Hampshire.
Bye bye, Yunee. You had such promise but you blew it with your poor attitude and terrible first half this year.
I don't know much about Gonzales, but Yunel had been pissing me off for a few weeks now. His shitty attitude and almost causing Glaus to break his wrist in NY sold the deal for me.
I was thinking of possible moves and SS was #1 on the list. Pumped about the second half.
Bye bye, Yunee. You had such promise but you blew it with your poor attitude and terrible first half this year. This was a good pickup for the Braves. As stated in another thread, we needed to include some minor league prospects to get a big bat in the lineup, and that's exactly what Wren did. However, I'm not so sure about trading 5 players...although I haven't been sure about Wren's moves before and he's proved me wrong.
Yunel Escobar was slow to learn to be a professional. How many times do you have to be told to hustle before it’s clear you just don’t care to do it?
No one can suggest the Braves didn’t give him a fair chance. He played 446 big-league game for this club, and his excesses worsened over time. And it’s one thing to hang on to a problem if the problem is hitting and driving in runs, but at age 27 Escobar had ceased to manage that.
Even with the Braves in first place, this was the right move at the right time. We shouldn’t worry about the absence of Escobar roiling the waters. He was always the guy most apt to upset the others with his disregard for the game and its conventions. He was always the Brave the others could count on to carry himself least like a Brave.
A tiny example: On a Sunday afternoon earlier this season, Escobar drove a ball in the gap in left-center. His hit brought home the go-ahead run, but somehow he managed to get thrown out at second base on a ball so perfectly placed that it would have been a double for anybody else in the big leagues. (Put it this way: Sid Bream would have made it.)
Escobar got thrown out because he watched the flight of the ball and admired his work, as opposed to running hard. The Braves noticed. The Braves always noticed. As one man in the clubhouse said afterward, exasperation in his voice: “He has been told time and time again.”
This is a happier clubhouse than it has been in years, and not just because the team is in first place. Because these guys like and respect one another. The one guy who didn’t fit — and who was never going to fit, no matter how many chances the Braves offered — just got traded. “In the short term, this really improves our ballclub,” Wren said, and it improves it not because Gonzalez is a greater talent but because he’s a real pro.
Addition by subtraction, I believe it’s called.
Damn good move, but where do we put Omar? The guy has to play.
And for the record, I'm now satisfied with the 2010 Braves and fully expect our guys to make a serious run at the NLCS, if not the WS.
I fully expect the Bravos to dominate the second half and cruise to an easy WS win!
I fully expect Thrilla to come across Al Gore's intrawebs and kill me
We only traded 2 guys, Escobar and JoJo. We received the other 3. Gonzales and 2 minor leaguers.
I agree with you that it was a great trade. Escobar's toxic attitude was killing the clubhouse and dugout. Check out this scathing article from Mark Bradley:

Yeah, I realized my mistake when I listened to 680 AM last night on the way home. Sounds even better now. Jo-Jo failed to impress me at any point in his career with the Braves.Or you could just upload the one of the thousands you already have on your computer?
The only thing I can come up with is rotating out with Chipper, and rotating out left and center fields. It's tought to take Chipper out as he's a veteran and leads the team, but he will need breaks weekly. The other times Omar will need to be in the outfield. Heyward should be back tonight for the start of the second half and will lock down right field once again.
Your going to keep me busy today, eh? I'm looking up your IP address right now and will soon download a gay porno virus on your computer.
Or you could just upload the one of the thousands you already have on your computer?

What, in the fuck, happened to the Braves last night? Wagner blew a 4 - 2 lead at the top of the 9th to eventually lose to the Padres in the 12th inning...
It doesn't matter guys. They're still going to win the division by double digits.
It doesn't matter guys. They're still going to win the division by double digits.
WTF!!!!!!
I love Bobby, maybe not as much as the Asian persuasion, but WHAT THE phuk is he thinking playing McLouth? This motherphuker is 1-15 since being activated from the DL. Worse? 0-7 with runners in scoring position.....including grounding into 3 inning ending double plays with the motherphuking bases motherphuking loaded. phuk ME!!!!
Send the butthole back to Gwinett and give me Blanco back. Melky can play center. Diaz can play center. Omar can play center. Why in the phuk do I have to look at McEasyout 4 times a game? Are we trying to get back to .500 ball?
phuk.
WTF!!!!!! WHAT THE FUCK motherfucker imotherfucking bases motherfucking loaded. FUCK ME!!!! Why in the fuck FUCK.This quote brought to you by a student of the Wench School of Professional Fucking Baseball Rants.
Just think back to how good McLouth was before the injury. Weird how bad he sucks now.
I guffawed
In Bobby I trust. His instincts are the best in the game. This is why McLouth won't be around much longer...Token's right, he has to be demoted soon.
Damn skippy, that is why they will win the division, NLCS and sweep the series! Take that shit Baseball Karma Gods! Up yours!
Pay no attention to this jealous follower of a terrible baseball team, oh magnificent BKG. The Braves continue to follow their pre-ordained path.
What's that? Winning the division and choking in the playoffs?
What's that? Winning the division and choking in the playoffs?
Just saw where Nate was optioned to AAA on Tuesday. I'm a little behind because I'm currently missing half a house in a renovation, and have had no TV for a week now. DirecTV will be outtomorrowtoday to put my dish back up on the new roof, so I should be back in business meaning my live satellite feed from Bobby's bedroom can be on my TV each night as I drift off to sleep

I am getting a little worried about the Phillies.......Lets hope and pray that Wench's opinion of Oswalt is correct and continues in Philly and they self implode.Oh ye of little faith in The Wench... stand back and be amazed at my predict-abilities...
Is it gonna be one of those Jekyll/Hyde 1st half vs. 2nd half things? Heyzues.
It's getting to the point that I'm not comfortable with him coming in unless we have a 3+ run lead. We are about to give one away tonight, and it's a damn shame because Hanson pitched a hell of a game.
Last night was on the infield.
Wagner has to want to go out in style one would think.
Billy FCITC Wagner does not give two shits about anyone but Billy FCITC Wagner. Just remember that.
Which really just proves what jmar said above. He should want to go out with a bang if only for his own self glory.Unless he gets his feelings hurt, or has a bad day, or breaks a nail or something... the man is not capable of being a team player, even if it is in his own best interest.

Hey Wench.Oh go cry on Jarhead's shoulder...
:fu:
Oh go cry on Jarhead's shoulder...
Fuck the Braves. That was like watching the fucking Bad News Bears.
Well, we did have a minor league guy on his first major league start. Plus add Farnsworth in there and it was a disaster.I don't give a damn if you had eight midgets and a three legged raccoon. It was the fucking Suckasstros. If y'all can't do any better than that, Bobby is not gonna go out a happy man.
You do realize that your continued mocking of the BKG is going to really bite you in the ass one day, right? With the way this team plays, with the cheap shithead we have for an owner, with the absolute dearth of any prospects in the farm system, I will be dead and gone before any possible opportunity arises for the BKG to bite me in the ass.

I honestly don't get how the Bravos can sux it up like they did last night or better yet, have games where they just don't hit that much. To me, this is the best line up they've had in foevah, from top to bottom. They should have double digit hits every night with the exception of the occasional great pitching performance.I agree, that was just awful.
Last night wasn't about hitting. It was about T-Ball defense.
So just to keep y'all from wasting time...Which team is 1st in their division and which team brought in a shitty batting coach to save their team? I can't remember.
Yeah, the Bravos won - LIKE THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO.
And the Suckasstros made 'em work for it. Hard.
And the Bravos looked like shit on a shingle doing it.
And Hunter Pence was fucking safe on third in the 8th. Shitty call.
And if the Bravos cannot figure out how to make a routine 6-4-3 DP, then I would not worry about postseasons tickets past the first game...
Sheesh...
Which team is 1st in their division and which team brought in a shitty batting coach to save their team? I can't remember.
The Braves defense has went full on retard.
Wench, that fucker was out, when his leg came up off of the base. That's when the tag was applied.
Which team is 1st in their division and which team brought in a shitty batting coach to save their team? I can't remember. Thanks for supporting my point, Taylor. Road game or not, you guys are first in the division - you should have whipped the Suckasstros like a mangy yard dog. Instead, you lose by 6 one night, and then have to struggle like crazy the next night to finally beat a team in the ninth inning that you should have swept easily.

If the Braves are having trouble with the Suckasstros, then the post season does not look too promising...
And FUCK YOU for talking bad about Baggy. The hitting is certainly not any worse since he got back in uniform, and if anything it's better. Bags is DA MAN.
I was poking fun at the Braves and Astros, because I really could not tell the past two games.Do NOT bash The Bags, even in jest. No graham crackers for you...
How does a man with the goofiest fucking batting stance in history teach someone else to hit? As for "Bags", that refers to the baggiest pants in baseball.Hey, he made quite a name for himself with that stance. And those baggy pants were tight in ALL the right places... mmmmmmm.

Fucking Billy Wagner just fucked a beautifully pitched game by Hanson. Before too long, he's gonna get jumped by the starters.
Fucking Billy Wagner just fucked a beautifully pitched game by Hanson.
Nice comeback win in the 9th inning last night!!!! Hell Yes! You may have us down for 8 innings...but we will get your ass in the ninth! GO BRAVES!!! We gonna win the world series this year baby!!!!!!! THERE IS NO STOPPING US!!!!!
I saw on Sports Center that the Bravos ERA for the month of August so far is 1.92. See, WE and myself have been telling you people not to worry. Dominating the NL for the rest of the year and sweeping the playoffs and series. Damn we are good!! It feels good to root for a winning MLB franchise. Finally a team that I can be proud of!
So now we're going after Carlos Lee after Chipper's injury?
HMMMM...not sure I want any of that Cubbie mojo up in hea.
I think he meant Derrick Lee.
But we both know if Carlos Lee went to the Braves, he'd hit .472 with 75 HR and 257 RBI the rest of way, since you've been pissing off the BKGs.
I think he meant Derrick Lee.
I like Derrick Lee. He was a decent player and I think a change of scenery would do well for him. I think he could help the Braves.
Matter of fact, if the Braves get Lee, we may not lose another game!
I think he meant Derrick Lee.I don't give a fuck if he hit for the cycle every game. He and his salary would be gone.
But we both know if Carlos Lee went to the Braves, he'd hit .472 with 75 HR and 257 RBI the rest of way, since you've been pissing off the BKGs.
If the BKG were gonna phuk with me, then getting my hopes up and dashing them cruelly would certainly count.
Today's loss might be the final nail in the Cards season.Want to borrow my hammer? I stopped needing it about two weeks into the season.
So we picked up Derrick Lee for a couple of minor league pitchers. Not too bad of a deal there. However, I don't like moving Glaus to 3rd. I like the Conrad/Prado combo at 3rd. Any thoughts?
I am of the same thought, but what do we do with Glaus? Bench player? Utility? I think hes too decent of a player to not be in the lineup regularly.
Let him split time with Lee at 1st, and help keep them both fresh going into the post season.
Glaus' weak arm at 3rd was why the Cards didn't resign him. He had shoulder surgery in 2008, and in 2009, couldn't make the throws from 3rd to 1st. He's a good guy, and I hope he can get arm strength back.
And cubbies? Fuck off. Why couldn't you make this trade before Derrick Lee beat ass on the redbirds. Fuckers.
This could really work in the Braves favor...but not before I sacrifice 7 virgins at the feet of the BKGPlanning a road trip to Utah, are we? I'd start the search at BYU.
 BKG
Planning a road trip to Utah, are we? I'd start the search at BYU.
The Braves are not good for my heart this season.I'm going to buy tickets to the Mets series and show up at or around the 7th inning.
It is taking everything I have to contain the rant that is welling up inside me. Tonight we will burn farm animals and pre-pubescent nubian females in an attempt to get back on track. You are now officially a geeky Asian motherfucker.
Big series against the Phillies started off on the wrong foot tonight. Brad Lidge looked like he was in World Series form. Damn you AUTIGER1 and Buzz Killington. Damn you.
It's not on teh youtubes yet, but there was a guy dressed as greenman except in all red who stormed the phillies' field tonight and had to be tripped up my Matt Diaz before being accosted by security. Hilarious.
Say it with me, Thrilla...
BRAD. FUCKING. LIDGE.
I wish he'd return to pre All-Star game form.Fuck that - you wish he'd return to ASTROS's form. You should slip in the locker room and stick an Astros logo on his hat - then even the worst hitter on the Bravos would be able to go yard and light him up like a Christmas tree...
phuk that Buzz!
I am Atlanta all the way! We won't start getting serious until the playoffs...then it's nothing but SWEEPS!!!
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO BRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAVES!!!
phuk You BKG's!!!!!!
Cox is already celebrating. He knows!

Chief Jay Strongbow makes his way to the squared circle to do battle with Assassin #2 in the New Brockton Armory. It was a non-title match that took an unforseen turn for the worst when Assassin #2 pulled a foreign object from his boot and lacerated Strongbow's forehead. It looked as though Strongbow might recover to pull out the win, until the referee was briefley knocked unconscious by an inadvertant elbow and Assassin #1 took advantage of the opportunity to throw his partner a heavy metal garbage can stored under the ring. #2 cracked Strongbow across the head and discarded the trash can just in time for the ref to regain consciousness and count Strongbow out.
Strongbow has vowed revenge and I wouldn't want to be either of the Assassins when next they meet.
OK. So we get swept by the Phillies. No big deal. We are resting people for the post season and will get them in the NLCS. We didn't really want them to see what we got for them anyway. Besides, we got the Nationals coming up. The phuking NATIONALS. They SUCK. Their best player is out for the year and they just drafted an over rated 18 year old bust. They are horrible and there is no way they stay on the same field as us. Besides, we have Hudson pitching tomorrow night and there is NO WAY that he loses. I feel a no hitter coming!!!
Also, the Giants have Chicago coming up and they are the worst. Their franchise sucks and so do their fans. I mean, 1907? Really? And you expect to beat the Giants? No phuking way.
And the Padres have the Reds? The worst division leader in the history of the wild card era. HAHAHA. This won't be close boys. We will have the wild card WON by Monday. NO phukING DOUBT!!!
GOOOOOOOOOOOO BRAVOS!!!!!

Braves get another win tonight. Now it's time to watch the cubs beat the padres on WGN. I haven't been getting much sleep lately but there is nothing like late september baseball when you're in the hunt.
Bottom of the 9th, and the Schlubs are ahead again. If they win tonight, it's called a streak.Winner!!!!
WE, Buzz and myself have been telling "you people" all along there is nothing to worry about. The Braves have this shit wrapped up!Done deal baby!!!
Done deal baby!!!
Okay, I know this will get no play at this late Friday hour, but I want to know why....if you HAVE to beat the Phillies....the team that just swept your punk asses out of their ball park.... at least one game to make the playoffs.....the Braves are throwing someone named Beachey...who is 0-1????
Who the fuck is Beachey and what happened to Hudson, Lowe, Jurrgens, Clemens, Johnson, Petit, Seaver, Maddox and Kofax.
Beachey? When you're playing the best team in the NL to make it into the playoffs? Beachey?
Playoff bound!!! Thank you giants!!
Now...screw the giants!! go braves!!
I knew they had it all along. With Prado out, the Braves are done. It was just nice to get back to the playoffs for Bobby his last year. I am satisfied to be honest. I didn't expect the World Series this year.
The reality is this team looks like they're on life support. They went from mid-season and having what looked like one of the most potent line ups in the majors (With the way they were playing at the time) to a team desperate to scratch out a run any way possible. They were losing series to the likes of Washington and Pittsburgh and the Phillies just pwned the Braves.
When O. Infante played that grounder like a 3rd grader yesterday, I just knew it was over. Then Wagner gets rocked by two guys. I hope the euphoria of making the playoffs gives this team a positive tude' heading out to the land of teh gays.

Agreed. Making the playoffs was all I was hoping for the longer the second half of the season wore on. I'm in no way speculating anything about Alex Gonzales, but when they signed him, I was stoked. Big stick from SS and all around quality player. The down turn started right there and lasted the rest of the season. Not blaming him, it was just that an acquisition I thought would put them over the top turned out to be the the beginning of piss poor baseball.
WTF? Auburn is 5-0 and ya'll are still giving a hot damn about baseball?
A pox on all of you. I'll fix this...
GO BRAVES!!! The Braves ROCK! WS BOUND, BABY!! WHOO HOO!!
:pb::pb::pb::pb::pb::pb::pb::pb:
Except they don't need it. They will fuck up on their own without any help.Nothing like a little insurance...
thrilla, what say you?
WTF? Auburn is 5-0 and ya'll are still giving a hot damn about baseball?
Da braves suck. Do they know how to hit? :taunt:
Our two best hitters getting hurt had a little something to do with it.
yall are some fair-weather bastards. I'll watch every pitch of this season and enjoy the last moments of Bobby's great career. Not too mention it is awesome to be able to watch october baseball again after 5 long years without it.

Wagner out for the season. What else can go wrong? Uphill battle, all the way. Underdog story in the making?
I say put Kimbrel in the closer role and let him have at it. He's got guts, and guts is enough.
How fitting for Bobby Cox to go out in the first round of the playoffs. Just like the old days!
:fu:
So who is supposed to replace him?
The two leading candidates right now are Bobby Petrino and Houston Nutt.
Let's just get this out of the way now...
I will not be the next manager of the Atlanta Braves.
Thanks, bobby. I say that without sarcasm.Oh, thank goodness you posted. I can cancel the Amber Alert now...
I will now place the knife back up to my wrist.
Oh, thank goodness you posted. I can cancel the Amber Alert now...
Don't jump to conclusions, I'm still suicidal and distraught. We love you, Thrilla. Let us help you help yourself. We're here for you. Cry if you want to. It's what Bobby would want you to do...
I gotta give it up to the Giants for stopping their celebration and tipping their caps to Bobby as he came out one last time. I will permanently have respect for that team for that excellent act of sportsmanship.
I am hearing that the Braves are announcing a new manager today. And it's not Buzz...

fredi gonzalez es no bobby cox.
How was that?
His ass better plan on having a better record then what he had in florida...
Dan Uggla!!!!!!
That is all.

And now, there are stories in STL about the owners balking at a Pujols extension. If they let him walk, they will lose 30% or more of fan attendance in 2012.
I really, really, really like this move. Some pop in the lineup can't hurt.
Some pop in the lineup can't hurt.
Dammit, I really wanted him with Birds on the Bat on his chest.

I really don't understand all this talk of baseball. It's obvious to anyone that watches the game that the Braves will dominate from beginning to end and will curb stomp all the competition and win the series. This year was a fluke imo.
A plague upon your sister. You mean other than the one you already gave her?

Yes, you Japanese fuck. That's the symbol.
Saw a stat last night. During the month of September, the Braves were hitting .232, while the Cards were around .280.
That's the different right there.
I think with Philly, they had a direct impact on who they played. If the Cards get in, they play the Cards. If the Braves get in, they play Arizona. Maybe they felt the match up with the Cards is more favorable than the one with the DBacks, so they thought it was a must win.
With the Yankees, who ever gets the wild card, they play Detroit. I don't have a problem with them not throwing Rivera in the 9th.
And I totally agree about Reyes.
Last night was about an exciting night in baseball as I can remember. Flipping between channels once the pitch hit the mitt, so I could see the pitch in the other game. Drove my wife nuts.
She should have been playing with your nuttz while you flipped channels. Didn't I hear where the Cards were one of only 2 teams that had a winning record against the Phillies this year? I'd like my chances going in while you guys have momentum and hitting .280 down the stretch.
Yes that is correct. The other is the Nationals, which will be watching the playoffs with the Braves at a Buffalo Wild Wings.
Cool. Can they have that guy push all those buttons to mess with the Phillies?
While you're at it, please tell him to stop pushing those buttons when Auburn is on Defense.
So THAT'S the problem? I knew Roof couldn't be that bad.The Roof, The Roof.
Speaking of the Braves and this thread's author, has anyone checked on Thrilla? Is he ok?
Saw an article where Gonzales announced the entire staff will return for 12'. Really? You wouldn't at least consider kicking Larry Parrish to the curb and get a real hitting coach in there? You had one regular...ONE...that wound up hitting over .280. And a host of starters at .240 and below. Your two primary pinch hitters, Hinske and Conrad, hit .233 and .227 respectively I believe. And you see know reason to make a change?
I no...I see what you did their.
I see what you did their.
Your getting good at thisI tried to make a conceited effort to rape you over the coals.
Stop posting all this rumor and innyourwindow. Bunch of damn pre-madonnas.
