Title: Twisted Metal
Post by: Kaos on August 30, 2023, 11:35:09 AM
I don't know the backstory.  I think this was a game or something.

It's not classic TV or even great TV, but it's mildly entertaining.  Anthony Mackie seems like he's enjoying himself.

The best part is Sweet Tooth. Giant deranged clown.

There are pieces that feel stolen from other things and there's an occasional Walking Dead kind of vibe, but it doesn't last long.

Worth a watch?  I dunno.  Gonna see where it goes.

What time do you want to leave Saturday? I’m game to leave early if that’s ok with you.

I played this game often growing up on the N64.  Sweet Tooth was drawn from IT & John Wayne Gacy, I believe.

There was a character named Axel that I used to dominate with.  Didn't know there was a series, but definitely will try to fit it in the lineup.

It’s on Peacock.  Not knowing anything about the game means I probably missed little things.  Then again I wasn’t burdened by expectations.   I could watch it for the entertainment value.

It’s an easy watch. Good mix of humor, carnage, action, and an bro-ro-mance.  Adds backstory to the characters that probably wasn’t part of the game scenarios.

Mackie is decent in a role that would have been perfect for Mel Gibson or Bruce Willis in the 80s.

I forget if it’s 8 or 10 episodes.  Has not been renewed so.
