Title: Google to rank ISP's by youtube speed
Post by: Saniflush on January 23, 2014, 10:30:19 AM
This is very cool news. Don't sign your next ISP contract before finding out what this study will show:

Google is going to start logging ISP connection speeds and ranking them based on YouTube streaming performance.

The concept appears to not be all that dissimilar from Netflix's attempt to name and shame ISPs for lower quality streaming performance

This is great. Shop around and make sure your ISP isn't throttling traffic with this report. There is a flock of assholes dicing up internet service to squeeze out extra fees on each leg of the trip. PUNISH THEM.
